All this talk of unsettling others due to their wages is quite nonsense really. The best players should earn more - take Dack as an example who must already be on parity with the top earners but is now seemingly negotiating being the best paid player. Would anyone in the squad bemoan him of this or at the very least have a justified argument against it happening? There is no doubt that BA is one of the best strikers in this league and with his goal return alone would justify being one of our best paid players. As others have mentioned, if he were to help fire us to the PL, you can bet that most of our other players would benefit financially too. Whether thats merely a promotion bonus or being given a new contract on PL wages, they will all benefit.

You have to factor in an increase in our saleable assets as well. Our last season in the Championship, who in our side would really have brought in much money from a sale? We had already sold of most our biggest assets in the seasons before. We now have youngsters like Lenihan and Nyambe that have another couple of years experience and will be worth a bit between them in the current market, Travis now making his mark certainly has the potential to be of great value to the club, signings such as Dack (especially) and even Bell from League 1 would be bringing in more than what we bought for them. Armstrong too, he would fetch more than we paid for him. Rodwell and Rothwell too. Forgot Raya of course too, and also Chapman should he stay injury free.

Maybe from our side possibly but Palmer and Chelsea obviously didnt want him to be a backup player. I still think it was a mix of the two.

I get the feeling Palmer was brought in in case a certain player was sold underneath us or at too good a deal to turn down. He is a very good attacking midfielder as his current spell (and his previous before us in this league) but as you say, he was mainly played out of position simply because there is no way we're dropping Dack.

Bringing on both Rothwell and Chapman for the last 20 against tired legs when we need a goal could be something to watch.

Please read mine again - he is hardly 'UNFIT' as he is a professional athlete. Whether he is 'fit enough' to go on loan and be expected to start a number of games is another matter.
