  1. Lenihan has potential yeah and could become a future captain but I would like leaders that dont have fitness issues. Dack, meh, workrate sometimes but I wouldnt have him down as captain material.
  2. Scored 25 goals last season, and has 20 in 31 games this season. Admittedly those have come against the likes of Maidstone but could be worth a go if cheap. Does reak of being another profit turning project if true though.
  3. We need leaders - whoever comes in needs to be a leader. The ones we have are not good enough. I think Bennett gets shoehorned in just because he has a bit of leadership in him - ability wise he doesnt deserve a spot. Mulgrew is waning and DG will be a year older. Other than those three, do you see leadership in our team?
  4. A month ago we could have had a promotion thread going and now we've had to reopen the relegation thread. Think that sums up just how bad things are right now.
  5. Thats a pairing I would like to see. We should just accept that Reed wont be coming here permanent now, why would he? So those two could be a formidable CM pairing for an adventurous manager...oh...wait...
  6. We cannot defend to save our life but still set up in order to do so. Why not just let the leash off for the rest of the season and have a go at teams? Just a thought because we're not really picking up many points despite trying our best to counter Barcelona, Munich, Madrid, Milan or whoever is next the team to get bigged up by TM.
  7. BB has been playing with the under-23s he has been so bad. Then again, he is a striker and being told to play on the wing by TM so go figure. It certainly does matter how much they cost when he took up pretty much 80% of our summer spending when there were glaring deficiencies in the squad that needed investment. Striker was one, yes, but one that might start and for 7 million quid you should be expecting a starter, not one for the future - we aint Chelsea. We have been calling for a CB for the past two seasons but this lot dont spend money on CBs as they usually dont turn a profit as much as other positions. The BB signing was for nothing more than some kind of stupid profit making exercise rather than for the benefit of the team. I highly doubt TM was even behind it.
  8. Cop out. The likes of Chaddy & Biz love a good bickering and often instigate them so suggesting they're staying away for that reason is a load of codswallop. I said before the game that if we lose this it would be the tipping point for many and the poll alone has gone up from 9 to 31 in just two matches. Still haven't changed my vote yet but something needs to happen and quickly as it is difficult to see how this can be turned round.
  9. No cheating please (wiki or other football sites) - any idea?
  10. Wasting your time - that deluded lot don't deal in facts. They keep going on about their away support but as you point out it is much lower than ours on average this season. They only got 7k here because we're 'able' to sell it to them, we sold out their place and they could not or would not accommodate any more of us. Bout time they followed their club further than 15 miles - and they call us plastics? They come out in force for one game per season, their FA Cup final.
  11. Pressure mounting on TM now, this rut has to be addressed as I think a loss at home to this lot could prove the tipping point for many.
  12. Thats the crux of it. Having won promotion out of L1, yes consolidation was what I hoped and expected at the time and being where we are now I would have definitely taken it. However, we then spent 10 million + which is more than most of the division. We also started very well and looked like we could compete with anyone. The two factors above had me changing my expectations. However, our form before Christmas was abysmal with the same mistakes being made still today. We had a superb January and got closer to the playoffs and had the opportunity to strengthen - which we didn't for whatever reason. We quickly lost form and have yet to recover any of it. We have plummeted with both players and manager already seemingly on holiday. Summing up, I think we're underachieving this season now - I would have accepted 12th or better. Our implosion is alarming and while we should be safe, this is Rovers we're talking about. If we can regularly drop points when being 2 up, we can somehow find a way to get relegated again.
  13. The damage those things do over the years though. In a way you could say one didnt help the other but living without one might in the end have caused the other to tip over. Its close to home this one as I lost a mate last year before he reached 40. Raving since the age of 14 we and our group of mates were also into a bit of 'this and that' until (for me at least) our mid-twenties when I was able to say goodbye to that kind of lifestyle, concentrate on my career, get married and all that jazz. He wasnt able to and was still heavily involved in the scene, organizing gigs, doing a bit of DJing himself and of course, still popping and sniffing. Had been hospitalized a number of times due to his drug habits and an equally bad drinking habit over the years - but he was always the life of the party. Smile on his face all the time but behind that smile you could see the pain - he also committed suicide last year. Was still living with his parents, never even had a flat of his own before, let alone a proper job. Single too, having lost all of his previous gf's due to his addictions.
  14. Just saying that if you pop as many pills as he did in his lifetime, it will certainly have a big effect on his mental health. Something which was not known for being particularly strong anyway.
  15. Big part of my growing up this group - even saw them headline live at Glastonbury in 97' Sadly, the kind of lifestyle he lived would always eventually catch up with him in one way or another. RIP Keith
  16. Think its all been said. Were told money would be made available to spend in January if we were there or thereabouts to the playoffs. We managed it but for some reason decided against signing anyone in priority positions. We have now plummeted and its difficult to see where the next win will come from. We should be looking over our shoulders now.
  17. Assuming he means if you go up automatically - or maybe even at all.
  18. We were shite in the 90's - this lot really are unedcuated. ?
  19. Your mate must read the redtops then - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8463696/man-utd-liverpool-blackburn-buckley-contract/
  20. Has earned a few points from me reading all this. Seemed to say all the right things and that there is at least some kind of plan. Lets see if these players that will be bought to go straight into the team will be coming. Still bewildered that he signed BB off the back of one good game against one of his teams - probably Coventry in a friendly or something? He is talking a lot about recruitment but it will have to be a LOT better than that. Wondering who the player was that was told he would have to dislodge someone from the team to be able to get game time. McGinn is a good shout and he has had an excellent season so far. Still, he would have had to dislodge one of the dynamic duo of Smallwood or Evans so I dont blame him from going to small club like Villa where he was promised a start from the off.
  21. Lets be clear, the stats say that we are a long ball side, no matter what Chaddy says.
