  1. Carter and SWharton were immense second half. That's how you defend.
  2. Wasn't there a new finance guy appointed recently? That seems too coincidental to me.
  3. Plant based food should be offered irrespective. That wasn't what I was meaning though. As @K-Hod said, the quality of meat at 4 or 5 quid would be iffy to say the least. I would guess that a donner kebab - which is probably as ropey as you could get - is 7 or 8 quid these days.
  4. Think about it. Those offerings you quoted are cheap for a reason, especially with them being meat based.
  5. I think we're due a home win and am expecting a scrappy 2-1. It won't be anywhere near as easy as the cup game the other week. Let's see if Tronstad really is 'up to speed' after managing one decent game thus far, and whether Dolan really can 'lead the line well'.
  6. I read an article in the Mail on Sunday today (I know, I know) regarding the 3pm TV blackout we have. It appears that PL clubs are wanting the blackout ban lifted come 2029 when the TV deal expires. Their 'argument' is that, as attendances are growing, there are vast numbers of supposed 'fans' who can't get match tickets and can only watch live games on illegal streams. It's obviously nothing to do with owners trying to milk more and more money out of the game through TV rights..... The financial gap between the haves and have-nots will just get bigger and bigger.
  7. I'm not saying that we shouldn't have signed a goalkeeper to replace Kaminski. Absolutely we needed to. Let's not forget, though, that Kaminski was Tomasson's second choice behind Pears. I question whether we need to spend the majority of our budget on a reserve; we could have got one far cheaper.
  8. Clubs can't back a manager forever, it's a results business. The same will (or should) apply to Tomasson at some point if our results don't start to improve.
  9. This could be a watershed game one way or another. Lose, and we could be in the bottom 3. Win, and postivity starts to return. It'll be a draw.
  10. Apologies if this isn't the correct thread. I was charged double last night (2 lots of £10) for the Coventry game on Rovers TV. I've emailed the streamamg address as received on the payment confirmation asking for a refund, but to no avail. Has anyone experienced similar?
  11. Tomasson is a victim in all of this, a victim of the shambolic way in which the club is run and those above him. He isn't infallible though and ultimately has to take some responsibility for results. Unless it starts to pick up, something will have to change, if for no other reason than simply for change's sake. And as wrong as it is - considering those above him - that something will likely be him, doing so with dignity and of his own accord.
  12. What's mind boggling is the total refusal of some folk to question the club in any way.
  13. If Tomasson changes the formation to be a bit more defensive, we should get something out of the game. If he carries on as-is, we'll likely concede and lose the game.
  14. Some players get injured a lot because they're never fully fit. And they're never fully fit, because they get injured all the time. I suspect that Ennis is in this category.
  15. I'm not saying that it isn't a good move for him, I think it is. Rather, I was questioning another of Chaddy's conflicting views; in this instance, the Bundesliga vs the PL, the latter of which he's historically regarded as the be-all-and-end-all of world football.
  16. Tomasson himself questioned the state of Ennis' fitness on arrival. A simple V02 type test would have show this up, if indeed they bothered to do one.
  17. Due to the terrible window and increasing injury list, we're now in a position where Tomasson is rushing Ennis back into the squad. What could possibly go wrong?
  18. So it's a good move for 'footballing reasons' for him to join Bayern and play a few CL games, a competition he may or not win, rather than play every week in 'the best league in the world' at a club who are also in the CL.
  19. I thought you were of the opinion that the PL is 'the best league in the world'?
  20. We've lost 4 out of the last 5, conceding 15 goals in the process. I dread to think what playing poorly would look like.
  21. Ennis could be one of those who's never 100% fit cos he's always recovering from injury, and then gets injured playing when not 100% fit. So a vicious cycle.
