Already seen him do more in the way of holdup play and knockdowns in the last two games than what Gallagher did in his entire time here. He looks like he knows how to use his size and stature which is something we've been badly missing up top.

Yeah he snatched at it a bit but is was a rapid and unexpected rebound.

At the end of the day Rovers have only them selves to blame when it comes to other clubs lowballing them for their best players. When you sell off a generational talent for half his actual worth, when you get yourself into a situation where you need to sell all your players just to stay out of administration, when you can't rely on owners doing the absolute bare minimum of funding the club due to their criminal activity, when you arrange numerous transfer deals for players then deliberately sabotage them at the last minute, when you bring in millions but spend practically nothing on strengthening a paper thin weak as piss squad you've got nobody to blame but yourselves. Just like with Adam Wharton, I'd much rather we kept hold of Szmodics and go into administration rather than sell him for half his actual worth and reinvest absolutely nothing into the squad. Fuck off venkys. Just fuck off.

Vale's goal was a stunner and good to see Big Mak bag one. I couldn't see Gallagher scoring either of them TBH.

Good to see that Eustace is continuing the form JDT started with putting these smaller teams to the sword and treating the cup games with some actual respect. Just get some lads on the halfway line when we're defending a corner FFS.

They didn't pump as much money into their squad though as they used much of it to upgrade their pig sty ground. I'd expect them to do reasonably well but they got promoted by being really solid and scoring goals when required rather than just blowing the league away with a massive budget. Their season in the Premier League was absolutely nowhere near as embarrassing as the dingles either. They didn't spend a huge amount on players and went down fighting. The exact opposite of the six fingerd ones.

Would seem like a good shout to put that side out for the first half at least. You'd expect that team to have the game sewn up in the first half but you never know. Depends also on whether Stockport put out a strong team as well.

Assault might be a bit of an exaggeration but you will always see players grabbing hold of each other and shirt pulling etc. It's amazing that half of all corners don't result in a penalty. Soft refereeing.

Pulling some of the dwarves out of the box and putting them on the halfway line might help as well.

Fixed that. The pink is absolutely spot on. Hard colour to get right but it's been absolutely nailed here. Too bright and it looks tacky, too dark and it looks flat as a fart. Ours is absolutely perfect and the road map details are excellent. The badges in the middle are very late 90s but that's alright. These are the best kits we've had since the Asics days.
