It’s early days yet but if the next four are of the same pedigree as the first four colour me - un excited.

Even as a young player he’d got that time on the ball and the ability to get his head up and see the full picture that tells you - this lad’s a good ‘un. He could be whatever he wants to be.

Yeah, watching him play at right back tells me he’s more suited to the short passing, harrying game of a central midfield player. When he got into good crossing positions he didn’t trust himself to put a good ball in. He’d only be a stop gap/emergency right back for me. As you say - like Travis is/was.

Anybody who’s watched the last 3 women’s games can’t have failed to be excited. At least they play right to the end unlike the men’s team who once they go behindthere’s not much in the way of a come back.

I’d say his career has plateaued at the moment but he’s still got youth on his side. I think he’ll have a decent career. Like a lad that used to be in our woodworking class - Craig Dawson.

The fact that there has been a drop off in quality when we’ve subbed players has led to us conceding more than our share of goals in the last 10 minutes of games. Just my opinion. Going back to the rest of the game. We started slowly and looked tired to me The first half was poor with Italy looking like they had our number. Second half we upped our game and got on top. In extra time we looked the best team and up for it. I thought we brought the subs on 10-15 minutes later than they should have been. We rode our luck again though when our keeper somehow kept out that shot in front of goal. It really should have been over then.

Not only that but it was right in front of the referee. She had the best view of all.

I always used to think that if you’re going to give a penalty so late in the game it’s got to be a real penalty because you’re effectively deciding the game.

I though it was a pen but you see things like that happen 10 times a game and nothing is given.
