  1. Their players must be thinking getting battered was worth it. Pearson rumored to be in for the job.
  2. I can't even see a result either unless we get a Watford sending off, we could just about get a draw then.
  3. Pearson being linked with the Bristol City job apparently. Joey Barton in at Bristol Rovers.
  4. That's good news because as assistant manager he's useless.
  5. Yes I usually leave it playing after the football. First record on last Saturday - " Stay In My Lonely Arms " by The Elgins. A classic B side. If you're a Soul fan the show is as good as it gets. To answer Den's question - I have it playing through a " REVO " internet radio. I've got 3 " REVO's " and I can recommend them. I occasionally play stuff through my old hi-fi set up - " Technics " amp, " Denon " tuner, " Sony " CD player, " Aiwa " tape deck, " Infinity " speakers, " Grado Labs " headphones. I still have loads of vinyl about the house but my " Dual " turntable had been in the loft for years. I remember going to a hi fi show in a big hotel in Manchester years ago. I was admiring the sound coming from some large speakers. The salesman removed the grills from the large speakers to reveal they were actually dummies and the real speakers inside were the size of a small shoe box ! Unfortunately they were out of my price range.
  6. Whatever, I wouldn't want Mowbray to get another penny of it.
  7. That's their plan. Demoralise the support base to the point were nobody will care when they pull the plug.
  8. If the two guys were really Burnley fans they'd have been shouting " Kean In ! "
  9. When you have two centre halves ( Lenihan, Williams ) who both are injury prone and potential back ups ( Nyambe , Johnson ) who are also injury prone it was the height of folly to sign another injury prone centre half. We got lucky with Wharton coming through, he wasn't part of the plan anymore than Magloire, Carter and Grayson were.
  10. I listened to Radio Lancashire after the game and without them saying it outright I got the feeling the commentators had also had enough of him
  11. Yes, I remember Blackpool getting relegated and they weren't ever in the drop zone until about 10 minutes from the end of the last game of the season.
  12. Kevin Gallagher was commenting on this issue last night on Radio Lancashire. Not just Travis or Rovers, but other players in general. Too much time in the gym and not enough time on the ball was his take on it. More like boxers than footballers. He also took the piss out of the shorts modern players are wearing. Ok for the beach but for playing football in ?
  13. Yeah, I just wish the scores would have been the other way around. It's starting to look like Sunderland are getting their act together. I've got a pal who supports them. I've not called him for a while because they were really struggling.
  14. I see Magloire played the whole game for Motherwell in a 3-0 home defeat to St Johnstone. Grayson was on the bench for Oxford. Carter also played the whole game in a 3-0 home defeat to Sunderland. Chapman had a full 90 minutes for Shrews. Fisher was on the winning team in goal for MK Dons in spite of picking 3 out of the back of the net.
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't this thread come up every year Mowbray has been here bar the promotion season ?
  16. I got criticised for saying it but I thought the way Dack signed a new contract so easily told me he knew that getting back to where he was previously wasn't going to happen any time soon.
  17. Limitless apparently. From Team Manager to Clerk of Works via Estate Agent.
  18. He's never been looked after from a medical point of view either. We've known from his early days that he's prone to soft tissue injuries but nothing seems to have been done about it apart from leaving him out of the team from time to time.
  19. If they're not in the treatment room ? A good half of those are injury prone/can't play 2 games in a week.
  20. If we're talking top six - yes definitely over rated. It's a completely unbalanced squad with a team full of midfield players and more than our fair share of injury prone players, especially in defence and midfield. However we shouldn't be looking over our shoulders at the bottom six ! The squad at the moment is just a collection of players gathered together with no obvious coherent thought as to a system, plan, way of playing etc that I can see. The formation changes every week, as does the personnel. Teams with a system, even though they have inferior players, will win out over of a collection of more talented individuals who don't know what they are doing 9 times out of 10.
  21. Don't be like that, remember " You Can Make It If You Try ". You're starting to sound like a " Mona ". Just because the " Little Red Rooster " chokers have caused you " Pain In My Heart " . We need the manager to realise he's " Out Of Time " and somebody needs to tell him " You Better Move On ". I always preferred the early Stones stuff.
  22. In the covenant case I mentioned earlier, Rochdale Cricket Club, the club was in a world of debt and ASDA agreed to give them some dosh to pay off the debts and provide them with a new ground. So the cricket club agreed with the sale, the rest of the town's sports fans weren't too happy about it though.
  23. Well as my lad said " At least I didn't pay to watch it ".
