  1. Actually it is my opinion Simon. I suspect any architect worth his fees can draw up a plan to fill a given plot of land with a quick plan as to how many houses you can fit on it. They will probably have a bit of software that can knock it out in minutes. It's a lot different to design a one-off building from scratch. There will be significant costs in producing the detailed building design. The houses on the other hand would I assume be designed and developed by whoever buys the land and builds them. I have no idea why anyone wold be more likely to support the plans if they had been presented with some fancy design drawings now. The councils know what a football training building looks like, more or less, as there are already two on site. Whilst what goes inside the new one might very well be more up to date I doubt the outside will look significantly dfferent. What is absolutely clear is that this is a proof of concept application. It could very easily be thrown out by both councils at the first attempt. Even if they get a green light to go to the next stage it will take a very long time to get full planning permission, I would expect years and there will still be no guarantees of success. I would doubt that even the proof of concept will be sorted before the councils go into purdah ahead of the May elections.
  2. There aren't any yet. These applications are for a proof of concept to be put to the two councils to get their views on the principle of the two developments. There would be no point in employing quantity surveyors and the like at considerable cost to draw up plans for a building that might never be built.
  3. He's at Middlesboro now and played against us at Ewood in November.
  4. I think you need to check your abacus.
  5. Well Dack and Brereton both had decent chances as well. But my point was we made a number of chances and should have scored more than one. Jim was suggesting that Cabango was the reason why we didn’t and I was disagreeing.
  6. But we could easily have scored two or three more and it wasn’t down to him that we didn’t.
  7. For me he had a pretty good game on Saturday as well - he deserved to have at least two assists as well as a number of other fine balls. And there was plenty to enjoy in some of his other appearances too. But then I’ve always thought he is a real prospect.
  8. Cabango? He was fairly lucky to stay on the pitch. He had no idea what to do with Dolan snapping round his ankles, particularly in the first half.
  9. On that performance seeing Swansea up there is infuriating too. I can only assume they must play better than that. How have they kept 17 clean sheets - the defence was frequently all over the place. And their only real goal treat was from set piece corners and long throws.
  10. Not for me, although they should probably have had one earlier for handball. But then so should we in the second minute, which would have been a straight red as well.
  11. You don’t have to listen to him you know!
  12. To be fair to them they don’t have the benefit of replays like us and it would have been easy to miss the handball in real time.
  13. This one has only reffed 4 Championship games this season so far so pretty unlikely.
  14. I can’t say I’ve ever noticed that on my feed. I’ll keep an eye out tonight.
  15. I don’t think so. It would have been on the original date.
  16. Just found this on a Swansea messageboard posted this morning. Looks like the fans think they aren't playing as well as results suggest... Thirteen games to go starting with this one, and even the most one eyed Jack has to admit (a) that we've had some amazing luck this past week and more worryingly (b) we've hit a serious slump in form compared to earlier in the season. Thankfully this slump hasn't been totally reflected in results, but it concerns me greatly as we reach the sharp end of the season. I think the root of this slump has been the drop off in form of our two main strikers, Ayew and Lowe, and perversely the arrival of Hourihane, which has left our midfield lacking balance and bite, and has left Cooper scratching his head about how to accomodate him. The serious injury to Morris has removed the obvious alternative up front. The big question now is, can Cooper find the right blend in the front five to get this team firing again at the level shown against Norwich at home a few short weeks ago, or is our promotion challenge going to fizzle out? Answers on a postcard, please.
  17. The Forum did take place. I'm in the middle of writing up the minutes and as soon as they are all agreed I will post to that effect.
  18. Although I've never tried it I'm fairly sure you can.
  19. I assume that I was too, although it would have been very close to when I went off to Sheffield to university. I then started a few years of trailing around some of the fleshpots of Yorkshire football following Rovers, like Millmoor and Valley Parade. I also did a lot more fun things as well!
  20. It might be an idea for a mod to add the kick-off time to the thread title - 6pm.
  21. One where the responder can answer yes or no without giving any reasoning. There are times when a closed question is right to ask, when you actually want a yes or no answer - like in a job interview when you ask a candidate if they have a driving licence. In this example you would allow a yes or no which would just close down the discussion.
  22. You should know that Tony Mowbray does not attend the Fans Forum. It's usually Lynsey Talbot, Steve Waggott, sometimes Mike Cheston and occasionally other members of the management as appropriate. Historically the Forum never discussed on field matters from when John Williams set it up. Latterly others including Steve Waggott have been happy to do so.
  23. There has been a sickness outbreak in the England camp. It's not clear who has been affected and whether anyone will be ruled out of tomorrow's game but I guess that's quite possible.
  24. In general that’s fair comment but I suspect that anyone aiming to be manager of Celtic would be in for an interesting time in east Glasgow if he was outed as a boyhood Rangers fan.
  25. Rev - the two planning applications are publicly available on the RVBC website.
