  1. ‘Typical Rovers fans’, ‘must be the worst set of fans anywhere’, ‘so negative here’ is the refrain on social media. Nope, it’s the same everywhere, indeed I’d say our match goers are pretty bloody positive considering the complete garbage we’ve had to sit through for a decade.
  2. Largely because we are usually terrible after a promising first twenty minutes or so (in front of the Darwen End usually) and cannot get back into games after going a goal down. Weak, weak, weak.
  3. The fact he even got an ‘appreciation thread’ just for having a good game in as cup tie shows how small time we now are.
  4. This is an obscure forum with a few dozen regular posters, wider social media is a cesspit, but there’s nothing anybody can do about that. Come 3pm on Saturday at Ewood, he’ll be supported, like always, and that’s all that matters.
  5. ‘Half the world laughing at him’, it was shared on social media for an hour or two before the semi final got going. Most football fans wouldn’t know the bloke if he sliced a ball into their back garden.
  6. The Darwen End had home fans in it every game pretty much (unless moved for Liverpool/Man Utd) for twenty years from 95/96 until c2015.
  7. Not sure why people seem to be struggling with this one. Generally, for another plodding mid table season, give Sunderland, Leeds and yes, Sheff Wed, the full end and take their cash, we can’t fill the seats ourselves, so it is what it is. However, in this very specific instance, how about not giving a relegation rival any kind of advantage at your own bloody ground for a huge six pointer with three games to go. Take every home advantage possible, don’t pocket a few extra grand but risk losing millions.
  8. We’ve billionaire owners yet we are selling our Crown Jewels to ensure we can carry on paying the PAYE of the poor sods in admin roles etc. on c20/30k a year. Obviously they deserve all our sympathy, but obviously that doesn’t negate the impact its had on the team, which was Windy’s actual point.
  9. So you don’t think we should ‘be fair’ to the owners? Thank god for that, as that’s a devil’s advocate too far even for you.
  10. He had to go, and quickly, as the owners can’t meet their obligations, due to them being under investigation for financial impropriety - so let’s be fair to them.
  11. I was talking about Wharton, and like Waggott said ‘we need to help the owners’.
  12. So support makes no difference at all to results? So across football why do the vast majority of teams do better at home?
  13. What leadership qualities do you see in Hyam?
  14. Please don’t shout at the players! It upsets them, especially the captain.
  15. Freak start to the season for PNE when they ended up at the top, apart from that they’ve looked shite whenever I’ve seen them… we still couldn’t beat them like.
  16. With their hovel only having 19k home seats, there is a scarcity factor when in all likelihood they will either be a Premier League club or fighting for the Championship title. You best get a ST or you may miss out. Here there is absolute no pressing need to buy one at big prices for another season going nowhere in a huge ground.
  17. No Jim’s quite right to point it out - it is all down to upbringing, my dad instilled in me local pride, the importance of heritage and passing down the baton between generations when supporting your local club, indeed it is what ‘the club’ is - and to have nothing but contempt for the local glory hunting Liverpool and Man Utd ‘fans’ and for them to ‘win’ as little as possible. Thank you dad.
  18. ‘Strange upbringing’ 😅 I have what connection to Man Utd or Liverpool? I’m a Blackburn Rovers fan, in reality I couldn’t care less about the PL, who’s in it, who wins it - but do I want the red shirted armchair fans of east Lancs getting any reflected glory whilst they take the piss out of ‘shit’ Rovers, their local club? No chance. Up the Gooners.
  19. The 94/95 regulars are legends to me. If they aren’t yours rigger, then fair enough!
  20. Ahh, yes, he got injured in the March… then our form started to drop off - coincidence, I think not!
  21. Pretty much ever present in a title winning side, yep he can have legendary status for me.
  22. I’d have a London team to win the title over Man Utd or Liverpool any day. As little reflected glory for their hordes of plastic ‘fans’ around here as possible please.
