Aye ok Longers, the weekly ‘tough game’, ‘different test coming up’ routine. Bit like when City have just smacked some no hopers but Pep pretends Bournemouth away or whoever’s next will be akin to Real Madrid.

Three points between 4th and 15th. As always; ‘mad league this’. -
January Transfer Window.

Thought you always believed what managers said in public as only ‘cynical’ people read between the lines? Or is that only when it fits your argument? -
J*B often comes out with this. Very strange mindset. Maybe Brentford, Brighton, Fulham, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace et al should have turned promotion down so they can keep giving the likes of Rotherham and Wigan a good hiding…

Maybe with the rumours re a loan away in January, JRC has realised that he is in the last chance saloon if he wants a Championship career. -
It’s that old chestnut of what makes a ‘bigger’ club. Brighton may not have our history but they happen to have a much larger and much more affluent catchment area. Couple that with a switched on owner who has transformed the club in all areas and we are miles away from them.

For a bit of balance he received a very good reception at full time from all the stands, which when you consider how frustrated the fans were reflects well. -
You didn’t get stick for saying it, a load on here didn’t necessarily disagree, it is because of your general gloating tone seen joining . How long (and how much abuse would they get) if a Rovers fan posted like you’ve been doing on UTC? You’re just lucky that this is a pretty placid place.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coach

Of course you can judge players on cameos, it’s those cameos that can force them into the side. Young lads have been advancing into first teams by impressing in cameos since day dot. Sometimes I wonder if you actually understand the game. -

Away from this forum I don’t think I’ve met a single Rovers fans in years that thinks the modern day incarnation of this football club should be in the PL… -
Anybody owning up to this ?

Why would the club do that? He is following their remit. -
Blackburn v Burnley - 2023
Mattyblue replied to JM1510's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Absolutely no chance it gets close to a sell out in home areas. Only issue you might have is they may want a prior record of attending games. But if you ring the ticket office I’m sure they’ll sort something out. -

Think you know the answer to that! -
He’s being a tad disingenuous there. There’s always months on end through the season with no shirts, especially this time of year, but normally you would see more arrive in the new year/back end of the season. To run out of shirts in November and not bother even trying to restock sums up this piss poor excuse of an operation and something not replicated anywhere else. The lack of standards at this club is embarrassing.

They don’t, and the defeats are often shockers too. And as we’ve also not convinced in many of the wins either we are highly likely to fall away as they dry up. But that doesn’t mean we don’t currently deserve to be third, as it’s a results business and we’ve had more of them than anyone 4th and below… -

You can have two thoughts at once. I.e after half the season we are third because we deserve to be, as we’ve won more games than anybody below us. However, we are currently 18th in the form table and we obviously look like a team about to fall away. -

Then we may as well get used to being a Championship/L1 yo-yo club akin to a Barnsley. ‘Sustainable PL club’ my arse. -

Sacking Sam wasn’t a mistake and we haven’t played better football in 20 years than what we are offering now. That level of insight and we let him dominate the forum… -

I’m not one for banging on about ‘style’, it’s a results business. But we’ve played no better football than this in 20 years? I mean, honestly, the mental gymnastics are something to behold at times! 🤦♂️ -

Seemingly the whole ethos of BRFC - as proven last January. A very strange football club. -
Championship - 22-23
Mattyblue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Ipswich no, so not fussed about them. Bolton very much so as throughout history we’ve always been fairly similarly supported. Also ‘population of the borough’ as the basis of your argument is not an exact science as support comes from outside borough boundaries, indeed parts of Bolton borough are historically not even BWFC hotbeds, they just got bundled in with the town in the local government changes of 1974, whereas the town of Bolton is not significantly larger than BwD. Third division Bolton have higher crowds for one reason - season tickets with an entry point of £220/£230 -
