  1. Yet most of the comments BTL from supposed lower league supporters disagree! Though it is the likes of Plymouth fans posting, a club with a real feel good factor and winning plenty.
  2. So what if wasn’t pulling up trees at the time? He was a £7million pound asset, a fortune for modern day BRFC, so you get him signed up, just like they correctly did with SG. Nowt we can do about it now, but it can’t ever be allowed to happen again. And I do have more faith that it won’t with GB in situ than the other plonkers we’ve had running the show. FYI -He was never booed (the dozen idiots at Birmingham aside) . He got fantastic support throughout and it annoys me that this ridiculous narrative has taken hold. Very patient fans here as he would certainly have got dogs abuse at most other clubs.
  3. He’ll be the only forward at the club soon enough so good job we did.
  4. BBD should have been offered a new deal two years ago - and he’d have jumped at it. ’But he was crap then and the fans would have moaned’. But guess what you do it anyway, as per SG last season. He had plenty of time on his existing deal too, but it’s called protecting your assets. You’re right we have talked it into the ground, but so has the club re ‘FFP’ and being skint. So let’s hope some hard lessons have been learned…
  5. Being average players doesn’t mean it was a ‘threadbare’ defence. Implications of that phrase is we had hardly defenders to choose from. They are the defenders we have, mediocre players or otherwise.
  6. Steele is a ‘home grown’ quota player. It’s why most PL clubs have English back up keepers. If he was foreign he’d be nowhere near a top flight squad.
  7. Evidently he doesn’t need to show it or he wouldn’t still be getting management jobs in the modern game…
  8. *Three, Bradley Dack. Sorry, my mistake, he’s his first name on the team sheet again.
  9. That brief stint in L1 coupled with Bury going bust. It seemingly spooked a lot of fans to massively lower their standards and expectations. So post that season the narrative became that we should just be grateful to TM for plodding around the second division and to Venky’s for just still existing.
  10. The sage of brfcs strikes again. He assured us that dinosaurs like him would never get another Championship job…
  11. He’s Mr January in the Rovers calendar… if that doesn’t say he’s off this month I don’t know what does.
  12. … and BWFC are about to lay a new pitch, what happened to ours again?
  13. Don’t you know developing said academy lads is going to re-establish ourselves as a PL club, somehow…
  14. That’s a different issue, but right back aside it ain’t far away from as good as we have.
  15. I’m giving GB the benefit of the doubt, good luck to him, but BBD has to be the last we see of the shambles of The Model mk1. Alas, with these unpredictable owners to report to then he’s going to need it.
  16. Would I have sold him last January? No, though a half arsed Rothwell should have been let go, ridiculous meddling from the owners that one. But if a deal could’ve been done in the summer (all parties including BBD himself willing), then it should have been done.
  17. Too right there would have been uproar. But it ultimately doesn’t matter if fans are upset over a sale. If that’s the model, that’s the model.
  18. ‘Siri, sum up the Venky reign in a sentence’.
  19. £219 season tickets (our half STs cost more).
  20. Kaminsky, Pickering, Ayala, Hyam and JRC is a ‘threadbare’ defence?
  21. Plenty of the support says it too. Unfortunately the club’s narrative of ‘we’ve done all we can, unfortunately we’ve no fans, so FFP’ has pulled the wool over the eyes of many to the club’s incompetence over contracts and transfers.
  22. *Given a load of support on the terraces.
  23. ‘We can’t spend owt because of our shit crowds’ etc
  24. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2023/january/update-wanderers-pitch-plan/ Third division club with not exactly loaded owners can do it. Our billionaires on the other hand…
  25. ‘The club’ has spoken about selling players on for profit for a good few years now. This wasn’t a brand new direction for it when it was flagged up in a podcast last week. You believe it has only been failure thus far because of Tony Mowbray, so with GB at the helm I’m looking forward to now finally becoming this fabled ‘ROI’/trading model club.
