  1. Because that is where the money is.
  2. And remember it was only £399 for existing ST holders in the BEnd and Riverside (went up to £500 in the JWU) For new or returning fans it was an entry price of £430 up to £530. Sounds insane pricing for a long standing second division club with crowds at their lowest level in 30 years in a cost of living crisis, doesn’t it? How on earth will you increase crowds with that policy? Ah, but that’s the point, it’s all a cynical ploy, Swag has no interest in actually growing the fanbase, just rinsing the core. So such ridiculous prices for new purchasers then makes perfect sense as he can then paint £399 to £500 to existing ST holders as a price that is ‘rewarding their loyalty’. Contemptible.
  3. ‘8k, plenty of people’ 🤦‍♂️
  4. Nothing will change next summer either, it’s obvious from that article that he will just be tinkering around the edges, I.e that family ticket that no actual family bought will be slightly less ludicrously priced. The real issue, that any potential new or returning fan has to find £430 to £530 won’t be on his agenda. We won’t sell more than 8/9k at these prices as a second division club, it’s as simple as that. But he isn’t bothered if we do or don’t as long as he hits his revenue target (though he often misses it anyway). These are his ticketing polices and he simply won’t move on them… the only hope is someone else moves him out the club.
  5. Pathetic. He’s crowing throughout whilst quoting numbers he’d have been embarrassed to have as a target when he joined. We’ve sold 200 half STs and he honestly expects a 1000 to go when £230 to £280? Get real. ’We’ve already got 11,000 home fans for PNE’ - 👏 ‘Generally 12,000 home fans gets us to where we want to be’ …Err no it doesn’t, five years you’ve had and you still don’t have a clue. Please just retire for christ sake.
  6. You just said it was boring. You and England, what a rollercoaster 😁
  7. ‘Piss poor commitment’… it’s England (who are pretty much already through) on tele. It’s hardly a 5am coach trip to Bournemouth away. 😁
  8. Won two All-Ireland Championships with them. Proper old school multi-sportsman. Denis Compton-esque.
  9. ‘Not interested, thanks. If I’m not at Ewood Park watching my team I like to go to watch a film or for something to eat with the Mrs’. 😁
  10. He was managing QPR, a club with a relatively small Championship budget, not a parachute club. So every chance they fall away and are not seen challenging again for a good while. So not exactly difficult to see why he’d jump ship for a club like Rangers.
  11. Norwich away twice in three weeks. Deep joy…
  12. Winning football is the right way. Something a lot of Rovers fans have struggled to grasp too…
  13. Can’t be that. As the media were telling us that we’d have a much more intense tournament when the players were firing on all cylinders in mid season instead of when they are all sooo tired in June…
  14. Of course the Old Firm are massive clubs, but for many managers that wouldn’t even be a consideration with a decent PL job on offer. Just the way it is with the way TV cash has distorted European football and made leagues in countries like Scotland backwaters. Obviously Beale thinks differently, especially with his connections, but the majority wouldn’t think his way.
  15. But the football world does revolve around the PL. Celtic are a far bigger club than Leicester will ever be but Rodgers still left them in the middle of a title battle. Also, Gerrard for Villa.
  16. If we somehow stay towards the top we won’t be seeing many more 3pm’s for the rest of the season…
  17. It’s because ITV seemingly want an hour’s build up for every game (unlike the Beeb that only have 15 minutes or so for some of their matches), and as the pundits know feck all about half of the other sides it ends up being the same England chat (and a bit of Wales) over and over.
  18. Everybody was saying how marvellous Argentina were three days ago. All a bit early to be saying who’s superior to who at this stage. Tournament football is a unique beast.
  19. The closeness to Christmas will have helped them see sense you’d think. Forest fans have found it hard to come by away tickets this season for obvious reasons, so I imagine they’ll fetch plenty with a huge away end to go at…
  20. Lowest ODI crowd in MCG history think I heard. For Australia v England of all fixtures! It’s the greed of cricket boards world-wide killing the golden goose as they shoehorn in pointless series after pointless series for the TV cash…
  21. The squad needs reinforcements in January, simple as that. Though that will also be the thoughts at our rivals as clubs know it’s a tough old grind in this division, which is why Burnley, Sheff Utd et al will be just doing that. And just like we did from a position of strength in 1992 and 2001. The proof of the pudding will be in the eating if we have a repeat of the pathetic window of last January, if so, it will be clear that despite the fresh faces the fundamentals of this club and its owners haven’t changed and that there is no actual ambition for promotion…
  22. You could’ve got a full ST at PNE for the price of one of half STs in the JWU. Sure they are selling like hot cakes post the Debacle at Dingleville…
  23. Cynical bugger, aren’t you 😁
  24. There probably was an argument for increasing it to 32 teams, but to increase it again to 48 at the next one? Surely it can’t be argued that that leads to anything but a dilution of quality, plus an unwieldy tournament too.
