Because now you are not demanding they sell the club ASAP, seems fairly clear cut really, 1864.
-
Well they aren’t the same views then, are they? As you used to post some mega rants on here telling them to sell up ASAP… fickle fans indeed.
-
So you still want the club sold?
-
That’s the thing with TM, remember this is a two way thing. If he decides to go at the end of the season (as I still think there’s every chance of a new deal offer), as he sees the writing on the wall budget wise, he has without doubt boosted his reputation after his stint here (you may think otherwise, but I certainly get that impression from those within the game) and he will definitely have chances of other decent jobs.

Go on AJ, went to school with her older sisters, they were regulars in our fantastic summer musical productions, so obviously runs in the family…
-
Bit like those that used to rant about the owners on a daily basis, but now go in to bat for them instead…

Not this again. Sense of shame for who? ‘An all time low’ for who? A tiny percentage of idiots? Considering just how poor he was, for a few YEARS, not weeks or months, he was given a lot of patience, yes grumbles, and yes there was a tiny minority of people being dickheads but that’s football, a £7million man wouldn’t have got such patience and understanding from the fanbase at many other clubs. The fanbase at large have been excellent with BBD, shows that actually we are a pretty fair bunch down at Ewood and it’s a shame you want to go down that line…

News From Other Leagues

Big crowd too, plenty of potential at Stockport… even in a town full of Citeh fans. -
What we selling next time?
-
It probably is fairly realistic to see this incarnation of Blackburn Rovers plodding about in the second division, but then it was pre L1 relegation too as the club was still a mess then (maybe an even bigger one), but there was still an anger and impatience around the place - Bowyer, Lambert, Coyle all getting plenty of heat for poor results. Now there is just a collective shrug. Of course it’s all due to a decade of chronic mismanagement grinding everybody down - so I’ll take any claims of ‘new dawns’ with a gigantic pinch of salt.

Yeah I’m sure the FA are happy enough, get to rotate, blood new players, promote U21s, the likes of Kane can improve his goal tally etc etc. But surely UEFA are the ones that need to look at the farcical amount of part time sides playing elite professional players in these groups… England had four matches against actual amateur teams! FOUR! Yet they are allowing more, Gibraltar being a recent inclusion. Of course, they should get to play international football, but there is surely some mechanism for it to be done via a pre-qualifying system and/or the Nations League and stop these ridiculous mismatches.

I’d say the vast majority of match going fans are now in group 1. Very rarely do you hear anything remotely anti Venky’s at Ewood and I’ve never known a manager as Teflon coated as TM, since perhaps, Mark Hughes and he was an actual top class manager. Just imagine the crowds reaction to a 7-0 home defeat under Sam or the late days of Souness or even as recently as Bowyer. For me that one season in L1 has lowered expectations markedly across the fanbase, now even sharing a division with the likes of West Brom is seen as success and plodding along like this year after year is fine, ‘what else do you expect?, ‘who else we gonna get?’, ‘Bury!’.
-
It doesn’t ‘even out’ though as qualifying groups were much tougher. Yes, an odd poor team back in Lineker’s day, but now half the group will be either part timers or very small nations.

White elephant grounds built by slave labour doing 20 hour shifts in 50 degree heat… all so North Macedonia or whoever can play Senegal in a November World Cup in front of about 500 people. The brass neck of the whole thing from the day Blatter saw the dollar signs…
-
The fact any team ‘laboured’ to a mere FIVE NIL win tells you how daft it is having sides like this in the competition.
-
He’s a second/third division journeyman with nothing to write home about in the club game, so of course he’s happy to rack up the international caps, which he’ll always have a chance to do as NI have such a small pool of players. The ‘niggles’ he always seems to get around the international windows is a bit of a running joke, but does point to a lack of professionalism and commitment to the institutions actually paying his wages.

No idea why Frosty always seems to quote me when he decides to do his fortnightly emergence. I’ve absolutely no issue with folk having other opinions. For one, I’m not particularly anti Mowbray, he is what he is and will not be going anywhere, so he can crack on. I do think Waggott is a poor Chief Exec and I’ll say so, largely because this club could and should be doing much more commercially- if that’s ‘negative’, then so be it. As he says, this place is certainly not the mainstream when it comes to Rovers opinions, and I have always agreed with that sentiment. However, I stand by the post he quoted, anybody can criticise whoever and whatever they want on message boards, in pubs and the like and still ‘get behind the lads’ at the ground. Wanting the best for a club isn’t just merely clapping lads in blue and white shirts every other week.
-
So fans can criticise the club/owners/execs when away from Ewood and still ‘get behind the lads’, then? Anyone would think you were just trolling last night…
-
You’d never get a united fanbase even post these owners and/or an administration. ’It was our crap support’s fault for admin, Venky’s put in more money than Jack!’

Attendances: A cause for concern

We’ll struggle this year trying to get any kind of festive bumper crowd, with the two home games this season being a midweek against Barnsley and then a Sunday 2nd January fixture against Huddersfield. Though saying that there is surely an opportunity to do a Sheff Utd-esque promotion for Hudds with it being a bank holiday the day after… I won’t hold my breath. -
And often it isn’t even the players getting grief online either - I.e if you slag off Waggott or Bilaji Rao, you need to shut up and just ‘getting behind the lads’ 🤷♂️
-
Of course, they are a fairly honest, hard working bunch of lads, some pretty young. They certainly need supporting at the grounds. But then they always do, yet that doesn’t mean the wider club, the executives, the owners etc should get a free pass too… ergo I never get the ‘just get behind the lads FFS’.

We had 7,200 ST holders when that new 17 game ST went off sale the other week, didn’t we? (I suppose the minutes from tomorrows Fans Forum will tell us one way or the other). So well over 5,000 match day tickets sold is an absolute mile more than usual - as the Jack Walker and Riverside gave very visual evidence to. There is not a chance in hell we are selling a similar figure in home areas at £30-£36 for PNE. Now the club may not give a toss because there will be 6k away fans paying top dollar, but that’s a choice Waggott has made and home walk ons will take a hit as a result, and he will know that, it isn’t the have your cake and eat it situation you are trying to make out.
