Rovers have one "plan" only---to fleece committed supporters for as much as they can gouge them and to fail to even attempt to attract new ones. This is a sure-fire recipe for a long lingering death as the supporter base continues to age. Of the 7500 season ticket holders we have at this minute, what % are non-concession holders? I bet we struggle to reach the pathetic 4000 we had last season.

Wish I'd a quid for every time I've read that!

He was a giant that night. And his career at Rovers ended too early for me. Some poor manager decision-making from Woy. -
Disagree. In fact--fucking unbelievable really.

Nevertheless.....!!!

6 players from that side would walk into our team now. 😨
-
I honestly don't understand how you can say that.

You did well! I was a wreck from start to finish. Such a shame we faltered towards the end and had to depend on Manu not winning. Best memory of that game for me was Flower's save. -

What a night that was. Ewood shook with joy. Walking (or trying to) up Livesey Branch Rd. Everybody singing and dancing around us. Tumult of noise. Just wonderful. -
Needs to play alongside a target man for me. That's how we will get the best out of him. Hasn't got the equipment to lead the line.

Looks like you did! I remember my Dad coming home after that Newcastle semi-final defeat. I wasn't allowed to go because he thought I'd get crushed in the crowd! He was very disappointed that we lost, undeserved he felt.

He never wanted to go. Another Wharton.

Replying to my own post (!) and here it is!! Its 1950! Look at that crowd and weep.

I've just looked it up as a result of what you wrote and we didn't play them 1949 at all. We did 47-8 and we did 49-50 so I'm assuming out must have been one of them. My Dad spoke of it a few times, I never queried it. He must have got the date wrong. That's a bugger, I was brought up on that story.

A lot!

I could claim the record here. 1949 Rovers v Man City, aged 2, sitting on my Dad's shoulders in the Darwen End Enclosure. A very eventful match but I remember nothing of it! EDIT---we were awarded 3 penalties and missed the first two!.Eckersley took the third and scored. We won but can't remember the score.

The Club's aim is to stay in this division. That's all we have to look forward to.

I believe some schools don't allow heading in training anymore.
