  1. but the fee wasn't right for us.
  2. You're saying it was her choice and we have no need to grumble?
  3. It wasn't a game for him to show his attributes unfortunately because Palace were so much on the defensive. He did make some useful interventions though.
  4. Henderson made 6 or 7 saves. Penalty and one where I was sure it was going in the highlights. The rest were high quality too. Agree with your general point though and I'm happy to see pace and width coming back. The ball pulled back from the byeline is still the most dangerous in football.
  5. though I cannot believe that Henderson stayed on the pitch....extraordinary.
  6. Quite a few of the "lesser" teams play that way in the Premier League now, or they try to----Wolves, Bournemouth, Brentford, Forest, Fulham. That's what I was arguing last week--EPL much more enjoyable to watch these days.
  7. True to a great extent but City should have won that game--missed several chances they'd usually take though Henderson was superb. Haaland was poor. I usually find Palace's style more to my liking, they score some great goals but they were camped in their own half yesterday. Looked more like a Div 1 team with the odd excursion upfield.
  8. If they owned Chelsea they'd simply demolish it and put apartments up.
  9. He's a fantastic advocate for Rovers. I wonder if Venkys will ever hear his words? They should be ashamed.
  10. The minutes target is a diversionary tactic, youngsters are going to be thrown in at the deepens because they are cheap and we haven't signed adequate replacements

  12. Another one to make us proud and sad at the same time: https://anfieldindex.com/82014/journalist-confirms-liverpool-are-monitoring-premier-league-midfielder-ahead-of-potential-major-move.html
  13. But top 3 absolutely dominated---100 points,100 points and 90n points----then Sunderland with 76. I'm absolutely convinced that Burnley and Sheff Utd will be relegated and promoted yet again.
  14. I accept that the vast majority of EPL clubs have little chance of winning the title but there's still plenty to play for--the Cups and a number of Euro competition places. But most clubs are happy just to be in it, loads of dosh and every chance to be a giant-killer every month. Its individual games I'm really talking about, though, many games that don't excite the senses beforehand actually did on the day. And the Championship is worse as a competition, the top 2 are sorted before the season begins---parachutei payments.
  15. I've enjoyed the Premier League this season. It seems to me there's a more inventive and attacking style these days. Used to be some very boring games with teams flooding the defence and hardly a shot being made. That's gone now, play is end to end, the goals open up in a twinkling of an eye, players shoot from anywhere. Clubs like Palace, Bournemouth, Wolves have no chance of winning the League but are really attractive to watch.
  16. Other clubs either sell before the contracts expire or offer new ones. Its called protecting your assets. Its common sense.
  17. The Leeds draw was a shocker because we completely dominated the game from start to finish and had the clearest penalty denied you will ever see. We should have won 2-0 and we deserved to. Things just didn't go our way in that run-in.
  18. On that basis then get rid of every player we have.
  19. The problem with that theory is that it can't go on. The budget gets smaller and smaller. What's the end point?
  20. And whatever the owners do, you support.
  21. One of our very best players leaves on a free and it doesn't bother you?
  22. The difference now is that we produce them with the intent of selling them but not using the fees to replace them. That's if we get any fee at all
  23. Fulham and Rovers were neck and neck a few years ago but look at them now. They have a billionaire owner but so do we! Their new stand, which has a setting directly looking down at the Thames is the last word in Luxury. Cost £100M and membership starts at £3000 a season but most holders are paying much more.. We can't even keep Ewood Park clean. We are left behind like rubbish.
