When we were good, we were exhilarating. But we couldn't keep it up for 90 mins (neither can I!) and we inevitably ran out of steam with inadequate cover from the bench. That's why we couldn't close games down and every manager knew it. Guess JDT was guilty of trying to play champagne football with Thwaites players. Some wonderful moments though and I think he'll do well with a better squad.

I think he's an important member of the squad now and I'll be livid if he ends up another one running down his contract. We can't keep pay League One wages and hope to keep players of championship standard. After Saturday's game, I hope put paid to that "no end product" theme that was running a while back!

Interesting---good post. Only 2 of the top ten on that list doing well. 2nd most touches for us and we've conceded the most goals apart from Rotherham and they are bottom. (57 versus our 56!) One stat that would be so appropriate for us would be the number of chances converted as against those created. Bit subjective, that's the problem but I reckon we'd be bottom!

We usually do well at Birmingham.

When we were on a good run last season we routinely had less possession than our opponents and the converse is true too, when we had more we lost! Possession is vastly over-rated, it what you do with it that counts.

No-one is the right man for the job with Venkys in charge, no such person exists and Jdt wanted to leave at the end of last season but Venkys insisted he fulfilled his contract. That sentence doesn't make sense anyway!

Eustace's appointment will be announced today. I don't know who made the choice initially but I'm sure Venkys have approved it. My only thought that we could have done much worse. In fact we have!
