  1. Isn't it the Venky effect that's to blame?
  2. Oh I quite agree with you there. I'm still only thinking in the possibly will avoid the drop scenario.
  3. If only the latest "result" had stood, we'd have won 3 of our last 4 games. That's a reasonable run and we'd be looking up. Great shame.
  4. By the way, we speculated how long the Carter/Wharton partnership would last free of injury. Answer----days not weeks!
  5. True ---how many goals are scored in the 96th minute or even later?
  6. The point is we shouldn't have to sell our best players and hope that we can scour the globe and replace them at lower cost to give us a squad as good as we have! Huge gamble to stay where we are!! Our aim should be got improve year on year. We should keep our best players and scour the globe if necessary to make the squad even stronger. Creating a squad as good as we had shouldn't be seen as an achievement. It means we will never leave this league except via relegation.
  7. I can absolutely see us relegated at the end of the season 2 points short of safety. 😭
  8. It's hard to take. 1-0 up, them with 10 men and we couldn't go another 10 minutes. Feels like 3 points stolen.
  9. We tried and tried with Buckley. He had chance after chance and got worse. Doesn't matter what he does elsewhere and I wish him well. But he was never going to do anything with us.
  10. Of course you are but there seems to be such little evidence to back up your opinion. You've been going on about Markanday being better than Dolan for months when even Rovers had no time for him and Dolan started every game. If you're serious and not taking the piss, in my opinion, you should go to Specsavers.
  11. You're surely taking the piss.
  12. Evidence notwithstanding.
  13. Well I was thinking of the collective defence rather than any one player. I accept Toth is the better keeper but we already had him last season. We haven't strengthened the squad in that area have we? .
  14. its conceivable that we might score more goals this season than last. I don't believe we're equal to last season's side anywhere else.
  15. I never identified any "negative drag" from established players now gone. Travis bled blue and white, clear he loved the club,Brittain was our player of the season, Dolan was as enthusiastic in his last game as he was in his first and is now proving his critics wrong in Spain. And so on. The Club has sold a narrative of the need to chuck out the old and refresh to cover the fact that Venkys are no longer funding us to a degree where we can compete. We had good players well established in this League and that's what we should have built on.
  16. he must really miss Ewood!
  17. Are you saying it's an act of disloyalty to criticise your Club? Even when its in the wrong? That's just plain stupid.
  18. No. it has to be in line with what's the going rate. As a Conservative surely you believe in the law of supply and demand? Don't pay adequate salaries and your staff go to someone who does. Lose Wharton and Carter, as we will, and the slide will be on.
  19. Funny how so many of our better players want to be somewhere else! Taking coincidence a bit far aren't you?
  20. A cause for celebration?
  21. The Rovers fans didn't seem as numerous as usual? Is that fair comment? Any particular reason? I always celebrate when we win, I know of no other way. But the reality of where we are heading soon comes back to haunt me.
  22. We'll be in deep trouble the minute that Wharton and Carter get injured and nothing is more predictable than that.
  23. Obviously worth more to the clubs that signed them and that's all you need to know.
  24. Because we sold quality. Not much of that left.
  25. We'll have to sell the whole team to pay that.
