Luton Town v Rovers Sat 21st Nov. 3pm

Luton should be castigated for their poor behaviour. No way should they be above us in the League. Don't they know the rules? Their job is to stay up this year because they've only just been promoted and thoughts of top half should not enter their heads. Over the next few years they can gradually build up and wait their turn to get in the top 6. Its like queue-jumping----toatally unacceptable. -
He's way too cautious. As others have said, starting Trybull and Johnson in central midfield does not give us the opportunity to quickly release our forwards. Always over-thinks it, always over-rates the opposition. Let's play to our strengths rather than our opponents.

TM is quoted as saying "they are a difficult side to play against, they are very well organised." I'm left wondering what he expects? Being organised might be foreign to him but its a starting point for managers isn't it? You build on that. -

With this result Its hard to argue we will go up or even make top 6. Every time we miss an opportunity like this the prize slips farther and farther away. Need a really big run now. -

This is not unusual Jim. Shaking my head myself! Our great pub culture is disappearing fast. Its like the end of the steam engine. -

I was on the Riverside with my girlfriend. Freezing and very dangerous. Crowd surging and swaying with every event on the pitch, Yet we had 52000 on in the recent past. She married me anyway! -
"will become"----always in the distance.

Is that a Damian Hurst print?
-
Luton are hardly that!
-
Yeah---forgot about him!

Its several years since we signed Dack now. Similar with Rothwell. I'd be amazed if we could get players of that quality for £750000. I also said IF he was as good as Sparks says he is. That's it from me on this.
-
I'm not arguing any of that. You're missing my point which is that transfer fees from the lower divisions have risen considerably since we signed Dack. At his age, and if Whiteman's as good as Sparks says he is the £2M doesn't seem excessive. You can't pay £750000 anymore. And £2M is better than £7M if we're gambling.
-
Once again, 750k now is not the same as 750k when Dack was signed. Transfer fees have risen exponentially since then It doesn't help the discussion when posters don't compare apple with apples.
-
Rothwell tough enough to play there? I don't want to be over-cautious but that side looks too attacking for me! Shudder to think of TM" reaction!
-
Well I said that. The point I'm making is that we did have that problem 2 years ago when we signed him----presumably to do something about it! 2 years wasted----unless you're a fan of TM's "gradualist approach." And--he still doesn't score many. Having said all that, at last he's a contributor, a major one so far this season which he has never remotely been till now.
-
He played centre when he first came on loan to us and scored 12 goals (I think)---the most productive time of his career in terms of what strikers are supposed to do. Didn't play on the wing then as I recall. We are ruining him. He's not great but he's not as bad as he is currently showing.
-
I read somewhere that Arsenal have had a total of 75 shots all season whereas Armstrong has 55 shots on his own.
-
it isn't this season! But it has been over the last 2 years where we had to rely in Dack till he got injured.
-
As Derby are proving!
-
In any case we paid £7M then not now. Been a lot of transfer inflation since then.
-
Its disingenuous in any case to try to make a direct link between transfer money available and inevitable success eg your team can't make it unless it has more money than the other clubs. Look at how far Howard Kendall took us on nowt.
-
Did Bale spend 2 seasons looking like he couldn't get in a pub team? Did Spurs have little money for transfers and gambled most of it on him? Were they desperate to get back in the Premiership? Not sure there's a comparison to be had there.
-
It is and we're being primed for injuries as the reason it didn't work out.
