  1. That is a decent team but how many times would injuries disrupt it? Middle 3--Travis injured, Holtby and Johnson injury prone and Johnson's form is very erratic. We don't know in what shape Dack will be (no pun intended!) and as you point out, we haven't got Cunningham as yet. However i do agree that if that team turned out regularly we'd do quite well.
  2. All the points you've made are valid, football is about opinions. But none of them can turn Brereton into a footballer worse pursuing with. If we'd got him a on a free you wouldn't hesitate. Because Mowbray paid so much for him, people want so much for it not to be a disaster. It is one and it continues every time we play him. Ten men.
  3. Well I mentioned Dolan and Rothwell as 2 wide possibilities. Chapman--we all want him to succeed but it doesn't look like happening Not really JRc's position is it? Then you suggest Brereton again which is where I came in! Why would you after all we have seen?
  4. Eh? On what is that statement based? Can I assume that he has no confidence then and that's the reason he has never produced? All players are confidence players aren't they? He's a confidence player so lets keep on playing him even though he is out of his depth?
  5. Agree its not his position but who else is there?
  6. One thing we can do is to drop Brereton and accept Mowbray dropped an irretrievable clanger. In a few weeks time maybe we'll play Arma in the middle with Dack just behind him and Doran or Rothwell operating wide. Has any player at Rovers ever had more chances than Brereton? I feel sorry for him.So hard to attempt to live up to a fee of that size without the ability. For me, I agree with you its Gallagher every time at the moment. No, he's not great but at least he puts himself about and does something. At the moment we are starting every game with 10 men. If someone is sent off in the first minute you don't expect to win do you? Let's stop pretending that Brereton is a potential talent still finding his feet. If we dominate games but make critical mistakes at the back, yet fail to take chances up-front, there is only one place we are going. Brereton is not the only problem we have but he is the biggest----by some margin.
  7. Its Tony's charisma!!
  8. If we got Ayala, Cunningham and, of course, we have a decent No 2 keeper as well, I'd have to say that's as good a window as we could reasonably expect and definitely Tony's best so far. But "if" is the key word.
  9. Remember watching a Bungy jumping session there one Sunday afternoon, must be 10 years ago at least. They had a huge crane in the car-park! One bloke got a free go for jumping naked!
  10. He won us that game against Spurs at Ewood!!
  11. Well it shows Mowbray in a bad light so I suppose we shouldn't talk about it?
  12. He's only a topic of conversation because we have a financial interest in his possible move. Therefore he's current!
  13. Might as well keep the nobody and yes man we've got then?
  14. But plenty thought he would go for much more money in the future. A poor decision.
  15. But we've still lost a lot of money haven't we?
  16. OK--I forgot about that but its interesting that you expect the same outcome as with Raya. Suppose we can borrow a right-back from Div1!
  17. So we ignore the fact that Arsenal are apparently prepared to pay much more for him, console ourselves that we got a good deal and happily sit back as Brentford get more than us for doing less? Moreover, this was eminently predictable but we went ahead anyway without having a permanent replacement!
  18. Once again. also after Mowbray publicly and regularly shamed him as being responsible for the problems of the whole defence. He didn't public castigate anyone else as I recall.
  19. Look back at the thread a year ago. Plenty saying it was a really dumb move and predicting exactly what seems to be happening. I was one of them. So let's not rewrite the history of this MB!
  20. Its a terrible result. We had him from being a kid, brought him through to 1st choice and then sold him for £3m, which we squandered. We certainly didn't bring any long-term benefit to the club. Meanwhile Brentford have had him for one year only, will make 4 times as much as we will and use the money to strengthen. We are amateurs at this game---mugs in charge.
  21. Until we have that replacement,I think we are a weaker team. You could throw Cunningham into that mix too, in that we are comparing players/squad at the start of the season. And let's not count our chickens (no pun!) with Kaminski. We don't k now how that will work out do we? And we still need a stand-in for him anyway!
  22. With Brereton and Gallagher?? We'd better hope Arma starts well.
  23. Sophistry. If the injury occurs during the season you can't solve it because the window is closed. As for your reference to Bell, I agree so why is he first choice left-back? Proving my original point I think.
  24. You think we won't get injuries and suspensions then?
