During squad training they are with other championship players. It should be obvious to the trained eye if any of the younger players have the potential to develope. To my untrained but life experienced eyes, I would rate Pike and McBride of at least having that potential.

Of the four you name who have been let go, none would challenge for the first team. I would say Carter, Magloire, Pickering, Pike and McBride will challenge for the first team. Has Chapman left yet ? I am not talking about throwing the younger players straight into the first team, from the U23s. They would be intergrated into the first team squad.
