  1. For me he started with a back four with Lenihan at right back. And then ahead of them it was three in the middle and three up front.
  2. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/mowbray-explains-new-challenges-young-23443918 Mowbray having a go at the players mentality. This is a bloke who sulked his way through the second half against Derby because a few players told him he had got his tactics and set up wrong (which is universally acknowledged that he did). I wonder how these young players viewed our leader doing that?
  3. I'm convinced if he gets on that plane to India he'll come back with a new contract. These wretched owners won't sack him face to face. When Kean got us relegated from the PL he went to India in the summer and came back with an improved deal. They are a cowardly bunch.
  4. Another hugely disappointing game for us all and worryingly (in light of the Bristol City defeat) against a really like side extremely low on confidence. I wasn't comfortable with the selection of a back four despite the comeback against Derby. The excellent run we went on was with a back three/five and suits our players and the ability to counter attack. After Mowbrays strop on Tuesday he was omnipresent in the technical area today but might as well have been sat down. I noted several times when he wandered about with his head in his hands after a mistake by a Rovers player. There seems to be a malaise going on that Mowbray can't fix despite all his bluff and bluster. He can blame individual errors for ever but solely from a results perspective the buck stops with him. I'm dreading another three years of him.
  5. What a terrific game of football which turned on the sending off of Jiminez. Even at that point I don't think anyone foresaw what was coming as Leeds showed great character. And for us Rovers fans it couldn't have been any better. I could almost hear those Benedictine glasses smashing from Darwen 😂😂😂
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60780404 A nice gesture from the Nobbers.
  7. I think we can nick this with the right formation and square pegs in the right holes. For anybody who hasn't been before it's a soulless place, probably the worst of the new grounds primarily for the lack of amenities around the place. Parking isn't great neither and last time we were able to go the standard charge for parking was £10. Paul Ince - enough said.
  8. I firmly believe that Mowbrays ego was pricked last night. The fact he got it badly wrong in the first half, the crowd chanting for him to sort it out, the alleged player revolt and the fact he sulked his way through the second half were all indicators to me that he had a cob on. His second half no show was almost childish.
  9. One incident summed up Mowbrays nonsensical first half tactics. For forty five minutes there was no press at all, the Derby keeper and central defenders had plenty of the ball, lots of touches and time to pick a pass. Within minutes of the second half starting Gallagher steamed at their keeper, frightened him to death and won a corner. That gave everyone a lift, the crowd became vociferous and gave the players a sense of purpose. I honestly believe that was the catalyst for us going on to win.
  10. His body language here is shocking. I would really like him to admit he got it badly wrong in the first half, I would have more respect for him if he did.
  11. The objective of any match is to win and that feeling eclipses anything else and hopefully we can get a win on Saturday, reset during the break and come back with a fit and healthy squad for the run in. The specifics of tonights game are a real worry for me though. Why on earth Mowbray thought Johnson could play this ridiculous false nine role is beyond me. He hung Johnson out to dry in my book. Derby took advantage of the lack of a press and played through us at will and deservedly went in at half time one up. We simply stood off them and sat in far too deep for my liking. The lack of intensity was worrying. Mowbray is his own worst enemy with his bird brained ideas which just don't suit us. He over thinks and consequently comes up with nonsense decisions. The changes had to come and even then something didn't sit right as Dack and Gallagher went in just before the interval ended and Derby and the officials were out for some time before we emerged. The impact of the changes and playing further forward had an immediate effect as Gallagher closed down their keeper which didn't happen once in the first half. From my vantage point the technical areas are in my eyeline all the time and Mowbray wasn't seen until the last minute of stoppage time when he spoke to Rooney and Rosenior. There was something really odd about that and the way the half time substitutions came about. Anyway as I said the most important thing was the win.
  12. And it sounds like that pillock Jim 'Venkys we're coming for you' White get put in his place too.
  13. Their arrogance is astounding. The statement from Middlesbrough is the perfect riposte. https://news.sky.com/story/chelsea-ask-for-fa-cup-game-to-be-played-behind-closed-doors-as-club-not-allowed-to-sell-tickets-12566765
  14. I remember Souness describing Rovers as 'a proper football club' in an interview. That made me feel so proud of my club and everybody knew exactly what he meant. Now, after a decade of being dragged through the mire by errant owners we are so far removed from that.
  15. Whenever Ayala has played he has been decent but you can't build stability around a player like this. So then the question has to be asked why on earth he got a three year deal? I'm guessing he is one of our top paid players too.
  16. The difference between them losing key players and us losing them is that the Forest manager can have his team play a different system to compensate for this. They lost Joe Worrall recently with broken ribs but it didn't really affect them. We lose Brereton and the season goes belly up.
  17. You have missed the point. He is better now than he was with us and that really has be down to coaching. To satisfy your point I'll say he's less shit now than he was with us.
  18. Luton and Amari Bell above Rovers in the Championship - who would have thought it. The little shit of a manager and his coaching staff have got more out of Bell in six months than Mowbray and his cabal did in three years. 'Nuff said.
  19. That, tied into the record home defeat is embedded into the history books. And all on Tony 'give us a wave' Mowbrays watch.
  20. Where was Mowbrays mates son yesterday? Stergiakis was on the bench instead of him.
  21. I agree and would add lethargic in possession to that list. He just doesn't show enough urgency when he has the ball and today was caught in possession far too many times when there were passes on.
  22. Having a go at the fans again? Weren't you the one harking on about big changes coming not so long ago? If I remember correctly you had an 'in' at Ewood and were privvy to some information which you tantalised posters with. So what were they?
  23. I honestly couldn't believe when Dack was given the ball for the penalty after being on the field a few minutes and after a few tentative touches. It was an emotional decision and backfired as he just didn't look confident. I'd like to know who the nominated penalty taker was and I'm certain he would have still been on the pitch when we got the penalty. Somebody was thinking about tomorrow's headlines there. Still we had enough decent chances to win this game comfortably but a combination of poor decision making and awful finishing ensured it was another Rovers nil days. Incredibly it looks like most of the teams around us are having jitters as we are incredibly hanging on to a playoff place. I didn't think we played too well today. Too slow, ponderous in possession, awful first touches all over the pitch, not enough intensity and some really slack passing allowed Bristol to stay in the game and hit us with a sucker punch. I was told after the game that we have scored three league goals this year. An incredible statistic at any level of football and Mowbrays reluctance to buy a centre forward who can chip in with a few goals is biting us on the arse massively.
  24. Each to their own. I like it and it's now synonymous with departing Ewood in a happy mood.
