I'd do the same i reckon, although a Nyambe/Wharton centre back partnership lacks some experience/leadership. Might have to play Williams instead of one of them.

Hanley seems to be pretty injury prone these days. He only made 15 appearances last season and none when they season resumed following the break for Covid, due to injury. Season before that he only managed 9 appearances, as he got injured and then lost his place due to the form of his replacements. He was sent off on his first game back too. He'd be a decent defender for us but we need someone who's at least reasonably reliable.

Frustrating that we've missed out but largely because WBA kept him waiting, which has left us waiting. At least he's signed for someone now but i hope we moved on from him earlier in the week.

So, another silent day on the transfer front for us.

He'd be a great signing. I don't remember us being linked to him though.

I won't knock this signing as he might be really good but this isn't exactly a priority position right now. Season opener on the horizon against really tough opposition and we still don't have a first choice centre back to partner Lenihan.

Whoever it is, we need to get a shift on. Not long before the season starts.

The lancs live reporter has said in one of the comments that Liverpool would be willing to sell, question is if we could afford him.

Yer, i was wondering more if they offered him a new deal or just let him go. All the noises suggest he's a decent player, so it would seem odd that Boro would let him go. Wages perhaps? Edit: Cheers @chaddyrovers
