Me too. I was up in the air celebrating then realised to my horror he'd put it wide. Probably the nearest I'll get to Wembley in my lifetime. Good player who took all sorts of unwarranted criticism during his final years with us
-
Well played England against a weak South Africa side. Anything other than a 3-1 win would be sub-par. England have been blessed with some brilliant all-rounders over the years. Who is best - Botham, Flintoff or Stokes?
-
That's a good Test pitch and has been England's problem for years - they struggle to take wickets on tracks that offer little help to the bowlers
-
Michael Holding checks your posts on here before making comments. Interesting. ?
-
Tough for England to take 5 wickets in final session. SA showing how to save a Test match. Question marks again over Root's captaincy.
-
They are Brummies, aren't they? Corrected it for you. It's all about standards.
-
Watched it on MoD. Cracking game - Roichdale could easily have won. Newcastle right winger looks a good player.
-
The feeling among many fans is Mowbray has run his course. The club is going nowhere under him - expect possibly down again. The likelihood is that someone else would get more out of a relatively decent squad.
-
He's not working at the moment as far as I know - so it is very relevant, though whether he would want to come after being stupidly snubbed by the club is another matter. Keep the nonsense coming - it's on a par with the rubbish Mowbray spouts
-
Well Mr Wind-Up, Neil Warnock wanted to come to Ewood and he's certainly better than any we've had since Sam Allardyce.
-
Classic Mowbray doublespeak gobbledegook. This bloke overthinks football so much his brain must hurt.
-
Yep, us older ones still remember the glamour and the glory of the FA Cup. Shame Tony Mowbray doesn't. Rovers getting to the FA Cup final or even having a good run to the semis or quarters would give the club and the town such a huge boost.
-
There's no space between "do" and the comma. It's all about high standards you know.
-
Before I pop my clogs I'd love more than getting back to the PL to see Rovers in a Wembley FA Cup final. The years roll on and you realise we're never going to get even close
-
Another disaster-waiting-to-happen keeper. We collect them like stamps

Losing with a reasoanbly strong team to a reserve Brum side down to 10 men. And the Tories are winning. Another great day. Thanks Tone. If yiu can't be arsed about winning football matches please go

Too late. The Ashes will have been and gone - again. Silverwood is looking like a very poor appointment
-
Silverwood hasn't been in post for very long but the portents are not good. For one thing, he doesn't seem very lucky. Very little has gone right for England since he too over, including illnesses and injury, and the same problems with the batting (and bowling) persist. Give me a lucky coach over a good one any day.
-
Another likely sub-par total on what by all accounts is a cracking batting wicket. Let's see how England bowl but I wouldn't be surprised to see S Africa make 450 plus, leaving England trying to save another Test. Yet more cameos by the top batsmen, 30s and 40s that should become much bigger scores. Silverwood's reign has not started well.

Martin Britt cost £25,000 from West Ham, a fortune for Rovers at the time. He had a wonky knee (done his cruciate) and the Cockney wide boys must have been laughing all the way to the bank because he was a good player and they would never have let him go otherwise. Rovers acted like an amateur club in not checking him properly. Gilliver was a good player too but should never have had that back operation with 1960s operating technology. Grabbi could play but looked timid and way out of his depth. Brereton even fully fit is the worst of the 4.
-
Trouble is, the No 2 is no better. Both goalies are tall, well-built athletes, but both are weak as kittens with no physical presence. Toss-up between them as to which is worse.
-
Even 7 points and we would be in 6th place., Pisspoor by Mowbray. I genuinely believe he and the club don't want promotion.
-
I'm certain Colin would stop us conceding so many though - and we would have a defined shape and consistent selection.
-
Having you watched Rothwell when he doesn't have the ball? I've never seen a player like him tear around at great speed trying to close people down - all to no great effect whatsoever.
-
It's not the worst squad, and we're still only 4 points off 6th place with lots of games to play. Don't you think that a tough nasty bastard like Warnock wouldn't get more out of our players?
