  1. And there are minimal signs of that sort of style assumed too, on the pitch.
  2. So many times it has been reiterated that we know how Tomasson wants to play but that seems more based on what he says and limited interpretations of how he apparently played at Malmo when he had the best team in the league. From the first 10 games, it has been a lot of needless slow, boring passing across the back when we have it but ultimately we dont dominate possession because we have regular spells where we barely have a kick. Its also inconsistent selections, woeful set pieces and occasional, individual pressing.
  3. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-dack-tomasson-defeat-25045685 Why didn't Bradley Dack come on? I think we had Ryan in the game, he did well, Bez can always score a goal and I put in a stronger guy if we wanted to play more direct and in that way there was no space for him in that position unless we changed formation which I didn’t think was necessary. Utter rubbish from Tomasson. A formation change wasn't necessary?
  4. He doesn't seem to be using the ones he has (including 6 that he brought in) particularly effectively though. Work in progress and journeys are regularly mentioned, the same terms that were banned words last year, but there needs to be clear signs of a potentially effective game plan. This passing it across the backline is clearly a tactic instilled by the management and we are not effective doing so.
  5. Absolutely shocking performance today and at least the third time in which we have been uncompetitive in 10 games, not good enough. Developing certain strong worries and reservations about the manager and what he is trying to. The passing it out from the back nonsense is naive as it was when Mowbray tried it, everything is too slow, its risk averse and we don't move the other team around, and it totally nullifies us going forward, all season we have been terrible at creating chances and it is so boring to watch too. He is tactically inflexible too, just making like for like changes and leaving our best player on the bench, We are as good as beaten when we concede first and our set pieces are an embarrassment. Looking at the attack and there are huge issues as there have been all season, for a manager who was such a decorated striker, his teams are so blunt. Why did he again leave Dack on the bench? Why is his main attacking signing this summer playing in the kids team when our first team doesn't have any attacking threat? We are so reliant on Brereton who was poor, Dolan as he is 95% of the time was totally ineffective and Hedges has had a good season but he needs to be far more productive. Hirst was lightweight again and his finish at the end was embarrassing, following the weakest of shots 5 minutes earlier. Defensively, hard to pick out any of the back 3 as being poor really but I am unsure who Tomasson would see as third choice and maybe he is reluctant to not pick them all when he can at the cost of our overall shape. Pickering was fine and again gets unwarranted stick, Carter on the other side was not very good and looked like a lumbering centre back playing out of position. I am not impressed by Morton and Travis was really poor too, Wharton should have been involved.
  6. A really dull first half. This season, our possession based approach of endless risk averse passing across the defensive line has similarities to the one 2 years ago under Mowbray and really stunts our attack because there is a huge disconnect between the attackers and the rest of the team. Unsure why there is so much focus on Pickering again, he has been one of our better performers and his excellent pass set up our only real chance.
  7. What do you think was our best performance? Mola is injured, Tomasson said he had picked up a knock.
  8. Seemingly with Dack in the squad and Szmodics playing in the kids team. True to an extent but signing a player for such a fee in our situation means that the player needs to become an important one. The question has always been whether we needed to spend so much on a player in that position.
  9. Strange signing indeed, especially if Tomasson uses 3 at the back with any regularity. Even if not, we have Dack ahead of him.
  10. It does and obviously its out of our control but it would be better if they didnt end up there. No chance.
  11. Let's hope that Chile's case is thrown out because it certainly isn't in our best interest for Brereton to go to the world cup and potentially miss games. Also hope that Kaminski is left out of this stupid winter World Cup.
  12. He was crap. Slow, didn't score and assist, not skilful, not creative, not a good passer. I think he tried his best but nothing beyond that.
  13. Same team again, should be going there planning on bringing back 3 points. A loss would be of particularly huge frustration.
  14. There have been enough on here suggesting that they are looking forward to giving him stick though to surely at least lead to a mixed reception, if that does materialise. We will see.
  15. Clearly not. The problem with that logic is, putting aside the fact that Forest changed manager to improve as you said, you'd be using the exception to the rule in regards to starting abysmally yet expecting to achieve much.
  16. What does "should have" even mean in this regard? People act like there should be a moral obligation to give managers an indefinite period of time but they only deserve time if they show something to suggest potential future success. The decision was made quickly to just give it to Schofield, 4 points from 8 games is pitiful so to me making that decision now to correct the error ahead of a 2 week gap makes logical sense.
  17. It will be interesting to see what reaction he does get. Based on here it will be really venomous.
  18. It will still lead to the usual suspects trying to ask what more can possibly be done with the blame shifted onto what are ultimately fair-weather fans, showing a total lack of understanding in the process.
  19. You are transfixed by the phrase "time and patience" but to me Schofield got the job fortunately and suddenly (even if that was a long term plan, they didn't plan to do it then) and presumably 6 losses and only 1 win in 8 didn't warrant loads more time and patience in the absence of something slowly being built. Their squad has plenty of seasoned pros (Hogg, Ward, Rhodes, Pearson, Lees, Turton, Holmes and Helik) but not an abundance of quality. I don't get why the natural successor would have to be someone from the lower leagues other than out of the noble gesture of "giving a young British manager a chance." Not convinced it is wise to go back to an old face either in Wagner, similar to when you spent forever wanting Mark Hughes back over a decade on.
  20. It's the word "punch" that I am contesting. It may have been, but it isn't clear from that angle or even close to be, more did it seem the case at the ground.
  21. As I said, it was unclear both at the game and on that video from the otherside of the pitch, nor was it mentioned post match. A "punch to the gut" certainly isnt clear from that vantage point.
  22. Is it harsh? Their start has been absolutely abysmal and his appointment seemed to be a panicked decision of the back of Corberan's departure. This gives them the chance to get someone competent in over the international break. They might struggle this season having lost various key figures so taking a chance may be considered too big a risk.
