Don’t like the fact that the Coleman link keeps lingering - you just know it’s going to be a shocking appointment

My mate's knocking on 80 (fit though is Mick). I can't remember John Bray, but I told him on Tuesday night about your comparison to Cashin. Said you're spot on. -
Sam Szmodics - opinion changed ?
davulsukur replied to Comfortably numb's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Szmodics is definitely a character, probably is a bit disruptive a times but it'll be joking about. Eustace is a really good man manager by all accounts, he'll know exactly how to deal with him, he'll have Szmodics flying. -
Sven Goran Eriksson will finally come. The fact he's dead would not be a problem for Pasha and Gestede.
-
That's what I thought, but on closer inspection his record is better than what I expected.

whoever is our next manager,i hope they ar`nt planning to live in the area, they`ll have to move by next febuary😁

Van Morrison - Into The Mystic -
Does show how far our expectations have fallen that rowett would be a popular choice - including mine- but it’s a far cry from days we scoured top international targets sigh. maybe one day…

Chris Coleman ticks all the boxes for these idiots. Sufficiently "high profile" to not raise suspicions outwardly but absolutely desperate for a gig, right "connections" and, having been Wales manager, will be used to working with limited resources player wise... Hope i'm wrong but 33-1 has been a strangely reliable indicator in all things rovers since the morons turned up (though tbf i think that first managerial appointment was probably closer to 500-1...)

Ipswich fan rumours loosely suggesting something about racist comments. More likely, fed up being played left wing and average players getting a game ahead of him. Ipswich have an expensive squad. Something not right there. -

The scary thing is that when Pickering came on I thought he looked a class above most of our players (in terms of touch, control, passing och allround looking like a football player). Consider that when he joined I would have rated him quite a long way down in those terms i respect to the majority of the team at the time... Scary -

The January 2026 Transfer Window

A competent club would have had a loan for Pratt already done and dusted - he's shown this season that at absolute worst he's got to be a league 1 level defender and hasn't really put a foot wrong so far in the championship. I guess the hope is that we are taking the time to try and engineer the best possible deal, but I'm amazed that a league one or two outfit couldn't have been found before the deadline - surely we knew that we weren't registering him? That said, you'd hope at this point that a good national league team - possibly recently ex EFL with decent facilities etc. would not only want him in the squad but would want him to be playing week in week out - we've had too many players out on loan struggling for minutes. -

Chris Coleman? Carlos Carvalhal? Carlos Corberan?

No mention of Schaper being called up in Rovers official story on this https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2026/february/06/flynn-chosen-for-england-u15s-squad-/
-
Does seem an easy option for them. The truth is most of the managers mentioned have been potted for poor performance. Rowett got dinged by Oxford. Knowing the championship isn’t an asset if your recent history is one of cocking it up. Nobody is in the press saying I would be flattered if they asked me. They all have their heads down saying they get on with their boards.

Eustace will play him there's no doubt. -
Rudy: "Like this time 12 months ago when making the play offs wasn't the priority, staying up this season isn't the priority either. We're planning for what should be an "exciting" League 1 campaign next season!"
-
yep, i think realistically we need a Rowett/Eustace type, managers with plenty of Championship experience and tactical know-how to steady a team already under pressure - should hurry up though with sides around us either in the same position, head coach/managerless or about to be fuck knows if they're actually planning with relegation in mind though
