  1. Past hour
  2. I think its pretty normal for away fans to be banned in Holland pre season, and other European countries too. They just expect large groups going on the piss causing aggro and its an unwanted expense policing it.
  3. So you do still think about me. I'm flattered. That calls for another drink
  4. Can anyone honestly say its been a good window so far? I can't
  5. I had to wind my neck in last night as I was sounding like me dad.... But I do agree in some respects on the current music scene, or the music scene for the past 20yrs, its been pretty poor in my opinion, with as you say some notable exceptions. I've always been into music, I listen to plenty of radio and have a few musicians in bands in the family, but its a struggle to find anything that stirs the interest these days if I'm honest. As for Oasis, seen them plenty of times, wasn't overly bothered about seeing them again, but the way they've captured this new generation has been phenominal. Got The Libertines, Magic Numbers, Oasis, Paul Heaton, Bob Dylan, Pulp and John Grant gigs coming up, so its a busy summer. I'm even considering going to watch Andre Rieu and The Johann Strauss Orchestra!
  6. Have to agree. Far to expensive.
  7. New series on BBC radio 4 “ Shadow World - The Graverobbers “ It’s all about a gang of con men who are faking wills, getting probate, and then disposing of people’s assets. At the moment they’re getting away with it. It’s a similar scam to the one were people were having their houses stolen by con men. Hard to believe things like this can go in today’s world.
  8. As Exiled said, he's played 20 minutes or less so how anyone can make a judgement on that is beyond me.
  9. One major trend every season is that we always have a sustained slump of games in the second half. This is down to having a poor squad - as soon as injuries hit, we can't replace with any quality (coupled with poor January transfer windows). We need a better bench.
  10. I like Gueye he offers something different but the way Val wants to play from the off doesn’t overly suit him but he can change games is a handful and with a year behind him would like to see what this season brings for him
  11. Today
  12. Some really big points saved with those goals. That's what I remember The Sheffield Wednesday goal was a highlight for me. That was a game Rovers lose. We were made of sterner stuff last year
  13. When our workhorses went missing through injury we couldn't hold it together any longer. Travis, Tronstad and Ohashi, plus Brittain, do a tremendous amount of running, and are all integral to the team. Gueye works hard but with his big physique he can't move around as well as Ohashi and he doesn't always apply it in the best way; makes silly fouls and isn't as tactically aware in the pressing.
  14. I would say more along the lines of, run the admin side of the academy better.
  15. Gueye - 6 goals this season 4 of them he has started 2 from the bench 6 assists 4 from starts 2 from bench individually he probably excels better starting but the team probably are better with Ohashi starting
  16. I think things will be fairly quiet now until the last week or so of the window, apart from links to outgoing players.
  17. Gonna have to see your workings out for this one?
  18. Our win record when he starts compared to when he doesnt wouldnt back that up.
  19. Yep. The mainstream media isn't going to spoon feed it to you the way it did pre 1997.
  20. I don’t think we’re that bad or we certainly have improved our game management in the last 10mins of games this last season or so think a lot of our struggles recently has been starting games but I do agree there are times where we take too long or when we do make the sub the impact hasn’t been there
  21. I've seen him play for like 20 minutes, so no I wouldn't agree. He could be the next Cafu for all I know at this stage.
  22. He's far, far more effective starting games than coming on as an 'impact sub'.
  23. There’s absolutely tons of music worth listening to these days, it just needs to be found.
  24. The fact that there has been a drop off in quality when we’ve subbed players has led to us conceding more than our share of goals in the last 10 minutes of games. Just my opinion. We’ve also kept key players on the pitch for too long because our subs weren’t good enough. That leads to them getting tired and then getting injured.
  25. The great Stanley Matthews was well known for wanting to be paid for playing in charity games. He wouldn’t play in Bill Eckersley’s testimonial for that reason, and he must have known Bill really well. Having said that this was in the £20 a week maximum wage era.
  26. There’s now 3 windows for subs and now allowed 5 subs most teams now do subs based on timings in game it’s the way the game has gone most managers look at their bench around the hour mark to freshen things up or change the game. The issue with that is needing a good squad as you don’t want to be making 2/3 subs around 65mins and there’s a massive drop off in quality
  27. They've also brought in premium pricing in the centre section of the DE i think, maybe just the upper tier. Now that's something i kind of agree with, if you can fleece a huge away support then fair enough but if you're doing it on the back of fleecing the few home fans as well then it's pathetic. Unless they come up with a ticket deal in the opposite end to cover charging big for single tickets in the DE then it'll fall flat on its face. Are they now actively trying to kill off the BBE ?
