  1. Past hour
  2. He didn't He would be a decent signing as back up/competition for Brittain, but if he is Brittains replacement then it is a significant downgrade He does have decent pace though
  3. Pretty sure he started out as a Centre mid. Would be a class signing.
  4. Brereton and Rothwell were down to the owners not allowing bids for those players to be accepted and reinvested.
  5. I was on the Blackburn end, with my mum.
  6. Is that a bus we hired or bought ?
  7. Yeah... I mean if Venkys are really committed to balancing the books through player sales Brittain is one of the most likely sources to even begin to do that. With Waggott getting potted I wonder of part of it was him letting probably around 26M of talent (BBD 15M, Dolan 5M, Rothwell 3M, Lenihan 3M?) leaving on a free in the last 5 years. Maybe a bit harsh as the root cause is the Raos not funding new contracts but I guess Suhail could have thrown him under the bus.
  8. The Villa went to a replay, I don't remember the match, but that Villa side won European Cup the season after, beating Bayern Munuch in the final 16 February 1980 Score 1-1 Competition FA Cup 5th round Venue Ewood Park Attendance 29,468
  9. Today
  10. We're going to face a full summer of this sort of thing, especially with a relatively new manager and Gestede in place. Most of it is self inflicted due to our recruitment and contract policies. But we all know from experience that little of it will come fruition and we will be scraping around at the 11th hour. The fact we seemingly want to keep both Batth and Weimann yet haven't got either over the line tells us where we are on summer business.
  11. If we really do have an interest in Drameh then that points towards Brittain leaving
  12. Apparently Rovers are competing with Derby & PNE for Cody Drameh, with Hull willing to sell at the right price https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25187227.blackburn-register-transfer-interest-hull-city-defender/ Competition & the "right price" presumably being more than £0 surely make this unlikely
  13. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25187227.blackburn-register-transfer-interest-hull-city-defender/ Cody Drameh, who I believe is a right back. Knew it wouldn't take too long!
  14. Which is fair enough. That may even have been their preference. I'd rather have a shot at winning a tournament (even at u21 level) than be part of a squad for Andorra and a friendly against Cameroon.
  15. Montgomery starts for Scotland U20s vs Slovakia, kick off is at 14:30, I was looking for a stream but cannot seem to locate one
  16. Waiting for someone to come along and say he would be better off staying here.
  17. Pasha is the man behind a lot of the downgrading i have no doubts he'd be happy being the big cheese of an easy to run league 1 outfit. It's all about him in the eyes of the owners 'look look we've cut the budget, finished 8th and sold players to pay the bills' That kind of thing gets pay rises and bonuses, asking for multi million pound signings and missing or losing in the play offs probably gets the sack.
  18. When Mowbray was here and he had a direct line to the owners my opinion of them was that, with the right guys in charge we'd flourish as the manager seemed to have carte blanche. Since they've turned the taps off and costs have been slashed across the board it's clear we're only heading one way - relegation and then liquidation.
  19. I was on the riverside for that game too. 40,000 packed into Ewood. Imagine it with 61,000 on!
  20. Hes not rocked the boat for seven and a half years he won't start now.
  21. That’s why he’s not signed a scholar, enjoy Italy!
  22. Absolutely dreadful decisions made on the squad. What the hell Tuchel?
  23. "Adam, Wharton" trending on twitter now
  24. I remember both of those games, very well. Both definitely in the 80’s
  25. The suggestion that Pasha has been telling the owners that all is well and they don't need to spend has been doing the rounds for a few seasons now from a variety of "inside" sources. I didn't give it any credence at first, it's just too ludicrous for words, who apart from their right mind (apart from Mowbray) would be discouraging the owners from spending? Anyone normal on the ground would be doing their utmost to persuade the owners to spend as much on players as they possibly could. Does seem to be an increasingly common suggestion though - not least from one of our former managers" "Ask Suhail".
  26. Some of my first games were those FA Cup ties against Cov and Villa in 1980 (?). I was in the Riverside seats with my dad and can remember looking down on the packed terrace below. I think there were 30k on Ewood for those games. Happy memories!
  27. Question not directed at me but I've always thought it was those on the ground at Ewood whose cushy little number with minimum hassle would be affected - Suhail, Waggott, Mowbray, Venus, Lowe, Caley etc etc. Gestede has now come in and seemingly bought quickly into the "Play offs weren't the target this season it was building for next year" line. Can't see why the owners wouldn't want promotion if only to recoup some losses.
