  1. Past hour
  2. The problem with having someone similar to Ohashi is the lack of plan b. If/when teams figure us out we need something different to change things. Gueye is that player involved in 12 of our 63 goals. You are right about some ‘assists’ I don’t think they should be classed as such but at the same time the equaliser away to Leeds he got no credit for his big part so evens itself out. If we can get another 5/6 goal contributions out of him taking him to 15-20 that’s decent for a back up player
  3. I would command £5-8m up for Gueye. He is a beast, he is a great character, he gives us something else and has shown glimpses of what he can do. IF we sell him I would replace him with (wishful thinking) Matija Frigan from Belgian Super League. Rumored to Elche. 1,85, Croatian and had 9 goals last season for his club Westerlo. there is one really good thing with getting players from Swiss K-League, Belgian Super League or similar league and that is the season is already started and they should be fit and ready to go straight away. I guess today (not many hours) will give us answers how far things have advanced with both CB and MG. will they be in the line up against NEC?
  4. Try and be right and I will cheers though
  5. I'd sell him for a 6'+ do it all CF with pace - as with our wide players our #9 is going to have to create all his own goals. As that's not going to happen I'd hold onto him.
  6. Selling Gueye now would be cretinous. We won't have a replacement lined up, and all we'll have is Ohashi and Leonard, who is rubbish.
  7. I’m in the camp that wants to see Gueye again this season there were times last season when he was an absolute beast , the Preston game. At home comes to mind but everyone has a price and I think £3-4m is the tipping point for me
  8. Didn't Alf Ramsey say something similar to Jack Charlton ?
  9. I would not. In fact I would be hesitant to sell him for anything less than 4-6 million right now. Feel this will be a good season for him, I’m worried who we’d get in to replace him with, and also he is the club’s grip strength champion apparently.
  10. Yes, the writing has been on the wall for 4 or 5 years with the 2 seasons in league 1 being a temporary distraction from the owners actions. He’s pretty much follows his Worcester playbook day by day, the board who were in place (made up existing directors) sadly took too long to accept what he was doing and contributed to the death by a thousand cuts we’re seeing now. Whittingham as he did at Worcester will walk off into the sunset with all his debts wiped and having picketed millions from loans to the club, etc.
  11. I don't think we had one for Qatar SC either. Obviously someone had scrambled to dust one off from storage for Elche.
  12. This Is true but the problem would be the replacement. Safer to go on with someone we know and pray.
  13. Today
  14. That's a great summary 😂. He's a character. I think he is definitely a useful player to have around. If selling him meant getting that striker playing in the Polish league, then no qualms. It won't though and we are already light up top. Keep hold.
  15. I find it extremely hard to believe there's anything in that Gueye story, I doubt clubs over there even know he exists! He's frustrating sometimes, to the extent you'd think he's won a raffle prize to play, then he can do something 5 minutes later and you think actually he looks OK. He's a useful squad player and would be a huge shame IMO if he left, not just because of his footballing ability but it's impossible to not like someone so smiley and quite frankly off their tits. Probably helps He's paid handsomely like. You'd imagine he can get slightly better/more consistent this season too.
  16. https://www.nec-nijmegen.nl/nieuws/nieuws/bezoekersinformatie-n.e.c.-blackburn-rovers.htm According to this, the game will be on NEC TV. Seems they are expecting a good sized crowd. https://www.nec-nijmegen.nl/n.e.c.-tv.htm - no details yet. The NEC website underlines HOW UTTERLY PATHETIC THE ROVERS WEBSITE IS.
  17. No game tomorrow, Derby have identified the opportunity to play and stepped in to take Nijmegen on in our place.
  18. This has been tried before but shelved. From what I’ve heard though, he was very rattled at the prospect, so worth considering again, especially for a Sky game. Pasha masks at £1.50 per throw may unmask him once and for all, so if enough are up for it, let’s give it a go.
  19. Certainly Iommi will be. Possibly even more so however not by as many people.
  20. Its obviously not cut and dry and there are other factors but I dont think its coincidental that our results with Ohashi up top were far, far better than with Gueye. He was unplayable against West Brom which is the game people often refer back to but most of his performances ranged from ineffective to liability. Also, he scored only 6 goals hence why people always say "goal contributions." They dont use that term when an out and out striker has a reasonable goal tally, they might for a winger or an attacking midfielder but Gueye doesnt score very often so they pad it out with his assists which include miss kicks in front of an open net and a header leading to a 30 yard goal of the season. He has useful attributes notably heading but IMO he is not up to the standard we need. But as importantly if not moreso, he requires a total tactical change if he starts, he doesnt suit the rest of the team. If Ohashi isnt playing, we should have someone who is competing who isnt totally different.
  21. It's absolutely inexcusable to not renew these contracts earlier.
  22. Yesterday
  23. If it's a statement that's come from the club then it should automatically be treated as lies.
  24. This doesn't need to be framed as a question.
  25. I don't see why kits need to be changed every year. They never used to be. Anything to keep the sham going I suppose, regardless of the toxic holocaust it reaps upon the earth.
  26. I think Jackson's demeanour changed when the LT let him go to Spain to cover the two friendlies - think you are spot on, Rovers lured him in and played / play him like a fiddle.
  27. All you can do is troll, troll and further troll. Your personal vendetta against me is plain for all to see. It's pathetic. For fecks sake try and be constructive or bore off.
  28. According to Jackson at the Lancashire Venkygraph Rovers have been 'backed into a corner' on the Brittain situation and therefore need to sell him. Maybe he needs reminding of the Venkygraph's own quotes in an article penned by him on 19th April 2025: "I think there are other people that need to have the conversation before me," he laughed when faced with the obvious question. "I'm really enjoying my time here. I've loved every minute. The people around the place are amazing. I love my teammates. Like you said, I've worked with the manager before, so I'm happy. "This manager knows that I've got a lot of energy and up and down and knows that I can cross the ball. So, as long as we're getting in the right areas and I can try and keep my confidence up, then yes, I'm happy. "There have been no talks yet. That's all I can really say about it at the moment. I'm happy here." That's a strange way of a club being backed into a corner. Rather it reads to me as though the player has been backed into a corner by the club, and forced to seek a deal elsewhere after radio silence from Rovers. Surely not? Oh actually yes, we've had the exact same with multiple other important players. Jackson seems to have been played like a fiddle by the Rovers Regime, doing their dirty work espousing a narrative that simply isn't true. He probably doesn't know that he's been played, a bit like Nixon probably doesn't care as long as it continues to get clicks and pays the bills. They're being used by the corrupt atrocious regime that controls BRFC. I pity anyone who believes it.
