  1. Past hour
  2. I think the key to any successful sports team is having a setup that managers aren't desperate to walk away from...... Yet unfathomably inside the ground on a match day, some morons look confused by a Venky's out chant.
  3. I think that's a really good idea Carl. There will be quite a lot of media attention (national and hopefully global) and a vocal and visual protest could not be ignored. The theme could be along the lines of the 135/15 year comparison which I believe would capture the imagination and hit home as to what a shambles the last decade and a half have.
  4. Because he was an average player at the Rovers, has no bearing what-so-ever on his abilities as a coach.
  5. The fact that Eustace at Derby is shopping in virtually identical markets to what he was doing here last year is not to be taken as a positive. It shows that Derby are not in any great shape, and financially are hamstrung, so much so that he is having to turn to free agents and people he knows in a bid to solidify them. He hasn't gone there to throw millions around on quality. He's working under tough financial constraints. Yet despite those constraints, despite shopping for free agents and despite gambling his reputation on what appeared to be a probable relegation to League One, he still couldn't get out of the Brockhall exit quickly enough. What does that tell the head in sand brigade about the state of things at Rovers?
  6. I try not to give the social media team grief, but c'mon. A stunning pass and a sublime finish from two players who are no longer here anymore - and the tens of millions of pounds we got for them haven't been reinvested into the playing squad.
  7. hows he bagged that one? recall he was pretty meh for us during ince's tenure
  8. Won't necessarily disagree but don't you first have to have a solid foundation. Appointed Rovers' manager in Feb. and kept us up. Put a foundation in place for his first full season and I'm certain if club had backed him in last window then we would have seen a more 'ambitious' approach . Exactly same happened/happening at Derby. Come Jan. 2026, if he has Derby at that point where he had Rovers, pretty certain he'll get the backing he deserves. A pragmatic manager who has got results when really up against it. To me, the future is bright for Derby
  9. The reason we have done 'well' over the last 3-4 years is because we've had good managers and more importantly the left overs of a very good Championship squad. The biggest credit I can give Tony Mowbray, and I believe it came at the expense of immediate results, is that he had a good eye for a player, patience and was able over 3-4 years to build a very good Championship squad. He was of course given time and resources to do that (way beyond the constraints the owners have imposed over the last few years) but he certainly left a legacy of a good Championship side capable of doing well in this league, Despite a reckless and negligent approach to contracts and reinvestment, resulting in the departures of important players like Rothwell, Lenihan, Diaz and others on free transfers, we have managed to keep going with the others that have been left over together with good recruitment under Broughton with Brittain, Tronstad, Hyam and Szmodics, again when they were actually allowing some reinvestment in the club. That is going to come to an end soon as the last of Mowbray's and Broughton's signings are offloaded to rivals on the cheap, leaving us will little remaining in quality or experience. The reason we've done 'well' (is finishing 7th in the second tier doing well?) is because of the legacy of previous staff and players from a bygone era when the owners were of some use to the club by spending some money on it. Now that's all changed.
  10. I’m not bothered about Weimann, this season could easily be a season too far for him. Baath is a loss. Sanderson was a handy bench player.
  11. I never felt the same about Clive Lloyd after that game I mentioned earlier where his bowlers were really trying to hurt the English batsmen, especially Close and Edrich. I think he went beyond what crickets stands for that day and it was a miracle nobody was seriously injured.
  12. Technically we washed our face or made a profit on Telalovic, Ennis and Wahlsted. I'm not ready to write off O'Riordan just yet. The Forshaw, Dennis / Woodrow signings are what I expect under Gestede.
  13. I've just noticed that 'The Bear' season four has just landed - After telling people to watch it, I've still not see season 1 all the way through!
  14. I liked Eustace a lot when he was here (I'm obviously indifferent about him now), but you do have to wonder. He's bought Sanderson too. If he has Premier League ambitions he has to remove the crutch of relying on older / familiar players.
  15. A staggering opinion - had to double check that it wasn't a Chaddy posting. Would be equally staggered if more than 10% share your opinion. Spot on.
  16. We're so dysfunctional that I think this club is powered by individuals. Broughton was very good. Park was clearly very good. I have no faith in Gestede to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
  17. This saga might finally come to an end
  18. Joke's on you, I was broken years ago. A couple of seasons freezing your balls off in the Jack Walker Stand watching Hedges and Dolan as your wide men would break any man. The CIA should take notes.
  19. Today
  20. Andrews has been confirmed as the new head coach at Brentford https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cn4lj9gv7lno
  21. Oh do give over - George Hirst, Telalovic, Ennis, O Riordan, Wahlsted, Forshaw, Dennis, Woodrow, to name but a few? The only time I'd argue we excelled on a limited budget was last summer when John Park was here.
  22. ANY Rovers Book forwarded by those Pune Wasters wont be going on my Bookshelf. GTF!!😠
  23. What about turning this into a Venky's out day and an unofficial fans takeover day. Obviously, anything inside the ground could be frowned upon, but perhaps a big helium balloon release form the Fernhurst car park, face painting with blue and white halves and Venky's out in red and maybe some T Shirts with Venky's out on them. The club seem to be giving a collective two fingers to the fans on this, so lets give it back to them and really shove it up them.
  24. Niall Ellis gone from Stoke to Blackpool
  25. As critical as I am of the Club and its senior management this just appears to be critique for the sake of it Our recruitment team has continued to mould a squad that is far better than the pot of money they are given to work with. With a budget that is way down in the bottom 5, we have challenged for play offs more often than not We do not have the wage or transfer budgets to gazump other teams in our league. Teams in the league below us could offer higher wages - Wrexham and Blues. That is not the fault of the scouting team, data analysts or other members of the recruitment department, it is the fault of Venkys. Our recruitment team has to be one of the best in the league
