  1. Past hour
  2. I remember he was that little bit stronger than the other characters in the WWE Mega Drive game. The Undertaker was my favourite of that era when I watched.
  3. Bridlington seems to be slowly turning it around too. The Spa building is a good venue, and there are a few real ale places. I lived there around 2007/8, and it was a real parochial backwater place where all the dregs of Leeds and Wakefield went to see the sea.
  4. Runners now banned in club cricket at our level, not sure if the pro game has banned them too
  5. Forgotten his name, but back in the late 60s or early 70s we blew our entire transfer budget on a player who retired from football without kicking a ball for us. I believe that resulted in the introduction of transfer medicals in the English game.
  6. Perhaps they are playing in the Championship in 25/26 season and this is the Championship 25/26 Season thread. Just a guess...
  7. In my lifetime the Rovers greatest 11 would be Friedel Le saux Hendry Henchoz Neil Tugay Dunn Sherwood Duff Shearer Jansen
  8. I might have got carried away 😁
  9. They (the BBC) said he wasn’t allowed a runner. Rules must have changed, don’t know when or how.
  10. Members of a certain vintage will remember being stung by Martin Dahlin, who we did sign, and had a pre-existing issue which ended up as a bigger matter when playing for us. Given our limited finances, can't blame the club for being very cautious with the approach to Baradji
  11. Your dad knows what he’s talking about
  12. Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland - Shoes
  13. Yeah I wondered that as well.
  14. It's great actually. This is exactly the sort of publicity we need. Who knows who might be watching his final round in the U.S. who might be wanting to buy an English football Club and are wondering "What the hell is he wearing?" 🙂
  15. they`ve brought in a lot of players, but none of them seem very good, apart from the goalie iversen and the lad from charlton terry small
  16. They looked poor yesterday and ACD ripped them apart (and we all know how shite he is).
  17. Today
  18. Preston are more toothless than us in attack for sure, 2 goals scored in 4 pre season games and 1 of them was against Chorley....I think they'll struggle this season.
  19. Something that occurred to me the other day. Why wasn’t Pant batting with a runner when he obviously had a very sore foot ?
  20. Chuck Willis - I Don’t Wanna Hang Up My Rock And Roll Shoes
  21. 😂 😂 unreal that to be fair! He didn't even know who we were over a year ago and now he's walking out to Tea off in our shirt.
  22. I’ve been there a couple of times. As you say, a great venue.
  23. Nixon also said that the players in question didn’t travel abroad with the rest of his team for their training camp. Pears went to Spain.
  24. He's fallen off the radar for me a bit having joined LIV. He was a solid enough player when on the PGA tour and I'll certainly be rooting for him in future.
  25. I was in Halifax yesterday to watch a gig at the Peace Hall, a venue that is quickly turning into one of the country’s best for concerts and is also a great place to spend time, eat drink and shop. But the reason mainly for this post is how buzzing the town was during the day. I'm not daft enough to think it isn't related to the Peace Hall gig, but alfresco dining, not a table to be had in the town centre unless you'd booked, people drinking in the streets at the local bars, table service and some really good pubs, it was a joy to see and reasonably priced. King Georges Hall used to be one of North Wests best venues, on the 'circuit' for most artists, but those days now seem gone for ever. Imagine an ambitious concert season, eating places and bars from Town Hall to old Debenhams serving thousands of people going to gigs and just out for a spot of lunch/tea, it would massively boost the local economy and support the cash strapped council in the process. I was told last night that Calderdale council contribute less that £1m to support The Peace Hall, in return the venue pulls in over £10m, its a no brainer. Just think what a busy King Georges could achieve for the town, sad to say it doesn't look like happening despite some really good people trying to make a difference. So it looks like Halifax will continue to corner that market and what a great job they're doing as well.
