  1. Past hour
  2. Ipswich looked very good on Friday but that was their first win of the season. They’ve only lost one but draws have been the issue for them. I’d take a draw now but saying that I would have taken a draw away at Watford.
  3. The ambition is to tread water and stay afloat. No appearance of flapping around and grabbing straws. Look like we're perpetually setting up for next season without actually having to achieve anything. In this window we bought a lottery ticket. The winning numbers are being read out and so far some of our numbers have come up (Morishita & Alebiosu, possibly Gudjohnsen). Long way to go. RG might get lucky and claim credit but as always with these things it's dumb luck. So, ambition??! mmm, let me think.
  4. Big Sam mindset, it can work.
  5. Duran Duran - Planet Earth
  6. Same starting 11. That team got us into Saturday winning position and why change it Cantwell is a 10 and his performances from there and Captain has been outstanding so far
  7. I don't know what kind of team we are yet but our 1st XI is competitive, its when those dark nights Sat, Tues cime that worries me, nothing in the Championship should scare us at home. Set up to hit them on the break and a bit of after Lord Mayor's show for Ipswich 1-1.
  8. Today
  9. Tronstad knows full well if he's offered anything at all it'll just be a one year extension on present terms so he's just setting his own stall out for the future,
  10. What utter and totally rubbush Hate them? Give over. FFS, they are footballers who will move clubs plenty of times. Never hated Rovers legends like Alan Shearer, Brad Freidal or Tim Sherwood when they moved on to other clubs. So why am going to hate Brittain for moving to Boro. FFS.
  11. The sole ambition is to do enough to finish comfortably above relegation whilst growing the new assets into profitable saleable players. Then there'll be a repeat of the recent scenario in a couple of years time where players will be sold with contracts ticking down, perhaps the odd bigger sale or two of a few good strikers and the wage cap will remain (reduced in real terms) or even reduced to 8k a week ! Agents will fill their boots again and Suhail will be a couple more years wages better off. Maybe even Val and Rudy have loftier ambitions themselves but they know the score here so if they over achieve fair enough but the stall is set now for a repeat performance of this summer, probably forever more. You might not be familiar with Dario Grady's Crewe Alexandra but maybe look them up because we are a bigger version of them now. Forget this Brentford model talk.
  12. So Wilder's return to Sheffield Utd confirmed. Has there been a more pointless and ridiculous series of events than what we've seen there since the play-off final? Sack a bloke who got 90 odd points and a play-off final, appoint a young coach with minimal experience of the Championship/promotions, it's a disaster and then go back to the bloke you sacked a few months later? At least the owners there have had the courage to admit defeat and go back to a safe pair of hands and sensible appointment. Would have been easier for them to turn to someone totally new rather than swallow their pride and go back to Wilder but his record there speaks for itself. Expect them to climb the table quickly and I'll be having a little bet on them making the top 6 again.
  13. You'll enjoy it I'm sure, small plates mostly, looking forward to your review.
  14. i understand this is a transfer thread and we're all arguing , could a better contract hold our proven players? are we on self imposed wage cap? is gestede a dickhead ? (definitely yes) , did the groundsman change his lucky underwear ? did the tea-lady serve coffee ? but we forget the important question , nobody is asking WHAT IS OUR AMBITION THIS SEASON ? or next season this question answers everything ... so many interviews ... gestede,VI,suhail and even the data guy.. not even LT asking ... or is the answer TRANSITION PERIOD FOR 3 YEARS the restart TRANSITION for some weird reason ...current set has skillset for playoffs ( i know many disagree ) ...just my opinion
  15. My lad won the spin the wheel thing from the fanzone where you go on the pitch at half time and pass into the target. I gave all my details, etc and was told I'd receive an email the following week. 2 weeks later and still nothing. I'm going to call tomorrow but wondered if anyone had experience of the match day team who run these things and who I'd contact. Saves me wading through the switchboard
  16. Yep, not like he has earned mega bucks in his career so far. I'd imagine his contract with us will be the most lucrative one he has had so far, and now he's proven himself in this league he'd earn more in his next one (at another club).
  17. Aye, I understood that. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
  18. Yes agreed... probably worth Β£250k a year at least for him to stay in the Championship. No one at the end of their career, when you are literally talking about two or three years, walks away from that amount of money.
  19. The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet The best intro ever committed to vinyl.
  20. The friendly is on Wednesday later this week, he wasn't in the squad for a league game at the weekend. Not sure yet why he wasn't involved, but seeing as it is a loan with a view to permanent, I won't personally prefer it if his loan wasn't great and he ended up back here Players improve by playing, and learning from mistakes, O'Riordan should be left in league one for the full season (barring us having a injury crisis), and brought back next season. He is young with plenty of time on his side to get to the required standard before we need to rely on him Edit - Duru not mentioned as injured
  21. I don't buy this at all. Who in Norway is going to pay him what he could earn in the Championship at another club? I'd be amazed if he goes back to Norway in the summer.
  22. Not even as squad filler in Duru's case it seems. What's going on there? Not in the matchday squad but in a friendly tells me he isn't injured, unless he has only just come back from one and they're easing him to fitness. Otherwise he has played a whole 2 games for them and then become surplus to requirements. Great for his development. If O'Riordan isn't ready to handle Paul Mullin then I'd suggest he isn't ready for the Championship yet. It could be a good learning experience for him though, but I don't know if I'd be in a hurry to recall him in Jan unless he progresses more by then.
  23. Sorry for your loss SC. If there's such thing as a 'happy death' it sounds like your mum experienced one. Also, its the order of things mate. We are meant to outlive our parents. Hope your family can take comfort in the fact that your mum and dad are reunited. Take it easy pal.
