They won’t sack him as it’ll bring the radar back on Pasha and Rudy, they’ve got the perfect shield who can take all of the blame in Val. -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
G Somerset Rover replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Even the likes of the ever supportive Henry Winter have gone very quiet on us over recent weeks - all despite our nosedive down the table coupled with the wider continuous shit show at the club. Feels like it’s going to take relegation to get any kind of decent media attention again and as we all know, that will be far too late as there’s no chance we bounce back this time whilst that lot are still around. -

I'm not sure what else can be done at this point. I know nationals (some meetings with them) and local newspapers running with it later this week. Obviously its on been on social media, on the radio, Sky, domestic TV and going to be run on there again in lead up to the game. We have seen a few posts similar too and share your concerns. -

Regarding his latest ‘but when the injured players come back we’ll shoot up the table’ comments - I’m sure my memory serves me correct that (roughly) six weeks ago he said once Cantwell and Tronstad return to fitness that we would be fine. Well, we’re not. He needs kicking out of the club with a kind sized rocket shoved right up his arse today. Of course it won’t happen but at any remotely normal club he’d have been gone months ago. -
The January 2026 Transfer Window
Ricky replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I feel that winning the battle in the middle of the park can help set the tone for the whole team. We can’t do that with the current players. Baraji looks skillful on the ball but doesn’t have any fight at all. Loses the ball and watches the player run away from him, Cantwell does exactly the same. We probably have the weakest squad in the league. Our best 11 is lower mid table but the overall squad is weak. That weak squad has led to us having to try to play the best 11 every game with no rest, shock horror we then end up with injuries. I’m also convinced our training and rehab is nowhere near what it’s been in the past so the injuries are more common. in short a couple of signings may cover the cracks but we all know the problems are running deeper. If we keep signing average players then the starting 11 are still under pressure to start every game. Cashin doesn’t start for me when our CBs are fit so it’s a pointless signing, O’Riordan was pulled back from loan and again is probably only on the bench if all are fit. Jorgensen probably doesn’t start if Gudjonssen and Ohashi are both fit (maybe ahead of Ohashi at a push). Last season I’m not sure we signed a single player who was better than what we already had in that position. Some would save Alibiousi, but we had Brittain who was one of the best in the RB position we actually signed the player to play in. Change in formation has been good for Ryan but as a RB I think Brittain has the edge. There are no quick wins, a couple of signings will not get us out of this mess. -

I had to write something to get it out of my system. That was simply awful…but what now? -
The defence look shocking to me now. Bereft of confidence and prone to shipping soft goals. Im afraid we have seen the last of the clean sheets for the foreseeable.

Look at his track record of tenure lengths. He’s got the smug look of a bloke who’s stumbled across the one club in world football where results don’t matter and just ‘giving minutes’ to young lads and waifs and strays from god knows where whilst mouthing platitudes about ‘projects’ and ‘transitions’ gets you to see out a three year deal. -

Not sacking him today is utterly ridiculous, last 2 results/performances have shown the whole thing has fallen apart completely. Managed decline, they want us down. -

His refusal to pick players that he has evidently fallen out with (like Pickering) is making a bad situation worse. Watching last night showed how poorly coached we are - when playing a high press you have to ensure you are set up for when they break that high press. Time and time again, they broke the high press and then went through our non- existant midfield like a knife through butter. This was Swansea, a mid to lower Championship team not b£%%^y Arsenal. - Today

I agree that injuries have affected the team, and we can sympathise with Val on that. But it’s hard to understand why he says that while still leaving out better players like Pickering and persisting with underperformers like De Neve. He’s sticking to a system that hasn’t worked in about 20 games, and any other manager would have adapted by now. The one piece of data they seem to be ignoring is the actual results on the pitch.

TBH - this is where we find out if any small way Gestede lives up to his title - as any other DOF would get rid of Ismail. (Before anyone says it - I appreciate Gestede is part of the problem - but he has the chance to show for once he can live up to his job title) -
The only players who left with any sort of credit was the attitude shown by the young academy players. I felt sorry for the new signing. He at least showed he can be a threat up top. Seeing his old team smash Man City probably left him contacting a lawyer to see if there is a refund clause in his contract to send him back.

no clue, was watching Rovers 😉 They have quite often taken him off if they were losing and chasing the game though. The guy who replaced him was a striker, and they were 2-0 down at the time, so I assume that was it. Also it was the Isuzu Trophy (whatever that is) rather than a league game, so maybe they just decided once they were losing, to save him for the weekend? Looking at their starting line-up, there were quite a few rested as it was

I agree, it would never be a sensible replacement if RG is picking the next manager (if VI ever goes). The very best we can hope for is a gamble on a cheap, young, up and coming manager and it actually pays off with them being decent. I'm not saying that's what we need, we need an experienced manager who can get the best out of limited resources and boost morale. At this point though, it can't really get much worse than VI given his awful record..... -

Not that we will get it but this is what I see as urgently needing addressed experienced centre back- to lose both hyam and batth the same window is criminal, especially when you consider the replacement was McLaughlin who is ok-ish but not adequate. He is on par with Paul downing for me. We really need somebody back there that can organise the whole back line. centre mid- we need an engine in there beside tronstadt that can make a difference both ends of the pitch and can get us on the ball. Look at all our last games and we have lost the midfield , there is no connection with the midfield to up top, ball isn’t sticking and it’s causing major problems. When we have Hickman in there then we are in trouble. Said after a few games he wasn’t fit for the jersey. lwb- if this is the formation we are going to play we need somebody to compliment alebiousu on the left. This has to be an immediate starter , we can get rid of Pickering and Riberio as they are clearly not fancied here. striker- I would still get an experienced champ head in there so we can change things up, ohashi has shown to be poor this season so we need a better option than him. I still think Jorgensen will be better suited on the flanks running the channels so we need a target man that’s better than gueye was. so that’s at least 4 key signings away, yet I feel we may only get another 1 in. Worrying times -

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
windymiller7 replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Ok guys & gals,i'm going to be straight up with you all now (as I always am), I've posted on here about how me & my daughter are so pissed off with everything Rovers & Venkys & she's totally in agreement. However! I've literally (within the last hour) found out that she'd no idea about the Watford protest - I was gobsmacked! I just assumed she knew, she bleeds blue & white like all of us but gets her news from different sources (FB usually, & a certain site) &tbf, I'd not said anything, assuming she knew. Now whether you're pro or anti protest, this msg obviously isn't reaching everyone. I've just had to explain who the Coalition are! We (BRFCS members) obviously think that this word is being spread far & wide, but it's quite clearly not reaching everyone. I don't know what the answer is but it's clearly not as far reaching as we would like. Someone mentioned in another post that they said similar to ST holder who had no idea about the protest. @glen9mullan,I don't usually tag you into anything as i know how much u have sacrificed in the past & how busy are with other things other than replying to me But i thought u might be interested & if this msg can help spread the word a little bit further by targeting other places then I'm all for it. We need these shysters out! FOV -

When we equalised a handful - maybe half a dozen - did 'You can shove your fucking boycott up your arse' then the same with 'coalition'. When we went 3-1 down there was a few rounds from a lot of people of 'Sacked in the morning', more hope than expectation of course. A flurry of brief boos at FT and that was it. Most of the noise from our lot was shouting various combinations of swear words throughout tbh. This the one where TGH placed it exactly on the forehead of the Swansea player who had no-one within about ten yards of him? Cracking bit of skill... Aye, as I was leaving a steward asked me if I was for the supporters' coaches. Only then did it occur to me some poor souls still had about five hours left before they even got home. Insane dedication that 90% of those they flock to see are utterly unworthy of. Yes, came over at the end of the game after everyone else had gone inside and took a good long while to applaud us and wave. Not the actions of a man who'll be doing that again you'd have to say.
