  1. Past hour
  2. Its not another Paul Downing we need. Its not a young defender who had been nowhere near our first team that we need to recall. We need a couple of centre backs of the quality to come straight into the starting 11. We massively miss Hyam and Batth. We knew we would. Gestede has filled the squad full of players that are absolutely woeful from random leagues. De Neve, Henriksson, Gueye, Kargbo, Tavares etc. Even the more domestic ones, Gardner Hickman struggled for game time in League 1, it shows, McLoughlin couldnt nail down a regular centre back spot when at Hull, it shows. Miller is so poor on the ball. Its frightening that these players have been signed to kick start a supposed overhaul of the squad. Cheap, sub par crap.
  3. I don't think we have any idea about what promises were made or not made during the job interviews. If Ismael was lied to he could have done like Tomasson and Eustace and jumped ship, but you could argue that he's being professional by staying at the club and trying to make the best of a bad situation while JDT and Eustace simply threw their toys out of their prams when things weren't going their way. How much would it have helped us if Ismael walked out on principle when they sold Hyam? I'm not defending the owners or Gestede, but they are who they are and need to be taken into account as such.
  4. I'm quite fond of Ribeiro, perhaps not full quality but could atleast play some decent passes from the back. Him in the line up for many games then to be halted was when our left back problem arose
  5. The other old chestnut is - who would get a better tune out of these players. Look at who we had missing yesterday, half the first team. Would this team have played so poorly ? Toth Alebiosu, Carter, McClouglin, Wharton, Hedges Tronstad, Cantwell, Taylor-Hickman Gudjohnsen, Ohashi There were players starting last night that in normal times wouldn’t even make the bench. Let’s have it right. 5 key players with bags of experience all missing.
  6. I wouldn't be bothered if we just just set up shop to draw a couple of home games. Stop the rot, build a bit of home confidence, and then take it from there. Watching us lose every home game is bloody depressing.
  7. Yet when Pickering first came I remember watching his highlights video and all it really showed was him as an attacking player. I think it showed him making one tackle. Obviously he’s gone backwards since then.
  8. Not rocket science. With the current formation we're desperately short of strikers and centre backs, although I'd prefer it if we kept at least some faith in academy players like Pratt rather than signing another Matt Kilgallon or or Paul Downing. We also need someone to challenge and/or deputise for Alebiosu at right back. There are currently about 27 left back in the squad so we could do with losing one or two of those, and the manager clearly has no faith in Gueye which means he should go as well.
  9. So do I. The chances are that our away form will take a turn for the worse at some point. And based on the stats thus far, our manager is incapable of drawing, let alone winning, home games.
  10. No way can anyone blame the fans for either not turning up, or not creating an atmosphere, after all we have witnessed. That last night was shocking and I fear it will not get better and just hope we can carry on getting some points on the board away from home. Ismael is a dud and as already pointed out, his home record alone, is cause for him to be sacked and if the results performances and other off the field activities do not change and quickly, this will end in disaster. To sum things up for anyone who wants to have a go about attendances, where have the owners been over the last 10 years and given that not a single one of them turned up for the centenary game, that says it all, as if they can't be arsed, what else can anyone expect.
  11. The irony of Ismael bemoaning the loss of Tronstad last night. The same guy who we're seemingly happy to just see go for free at the end of the season as he's (probably) close to, or above the ridiculous wage cap that we have. Hickman/Montgomery is a sign of things to come in that department as we have clearly seen they cannot identify and sign a decent central midfielder if their lives depended on it.
  12. The Streets - Weak Become Heroes
  13. No engine in the engine room without Tronstad. Cantwell is our playmaker but Tronstad is what makes us tick when he's on song and the players around him are awake and aware of their surrondings (unlike last night).
  14. To be honest I dont think either sre suited to a left wing back role. Better options than De Neve though I concede.
  15. Doesn't take much to get into this team atm.
  16. I know it's the old chestnut "who would replace him?" Can anyone see Rovers having a contingency plan or doing any research into a replacement? They'll be happy with Val, he's taking us in the direction they want.
  17. It was an even worse performance - tbh 0-1 flattered us Or what about one of the two experienced LB’s that we currently have sat on our bench and who can’t get a game for some unknown reason 🤷‍♂️
  18. They aren't bad they are being pushed towards the door for more cost cutting whilst De Neve is the number 1 back up option. It's called downgrading.
  19. I doubt whether their attitude or ability has anything to do with it!
  20. I'd take Sweeney, at least he could cut inside and open up the defence.
  21. Having witnessed that last night how bad must Ribiero and Pickering be in training to not get onto the pitch.
  22. An incredibly limp performance last night. The only good thing is it was so bad it can't possibly linger in memory. All down to the impeccable stewardship of the owners, whose honouring of the legacy of Jack Walker is the equivalent of me taking a dump on the Cenotaph. Lest they forget. VENKY SCUM OUT OF OUR CLUB, OUR TOWN, OUR NIGHTMARES AND OUR MEMORIES.
  23. Venkys, Pasha, Gestede, Ismael etc aren't stupid. They know exactly what they are doing.
  24. In a list of “who needs to pull their weight a bit more at Ewood Park”, I’ve got “the fans” at the bottom of the list. The way this season is playing out was predictable at the start of the season to anyone willing to take off blue and white tinted glasses. The plan of replacing the experienced leaders with low-cost, in experienced players from Europe simply will not work to anyone that knows this league. There will be a couple of Toth’s, but in the most part, we will end up with a team of Gueye’s, De Neve’s, Henriksson’s and Baradji’s
  25. Oh I'd query that one Den! Can we agree on "got rid of"? In reality they paid some to leave!
  26. In 2010 rovers were half way up the Premier League and gates averaged around 25000. Venkys came in, sacked the manager, sold the entire squad and announced that they could prosper in the PL with £5m/year cash input plus loans and Academy lads. 15 years later they’re asking “where are the fans”. I guess they really don’t know because they’re still pursuing the same strategy.
