  1. Past hour
  2. Unfortunately the rats don't want out, they're more than happy to stay on board as the ship goes down. Infact no amount of sinking will rid us of the rats. The players and staff able to get offers elsewhere are simply jumping onto lifeboats whilst they can.
  3. I thought tonight highlighted the lack of depth we have in the squad. On the evidence of tonight we can't allow Travis, Buckley and Pears to leave without replacing them. There is no hiding the fact that this was a hugely disappointing performance against a well organised Bradford outfit - newly restored to League One and who made several changes themselves for this game. I felt sorry for our young lads who were asked to step up. Michalski is an outstanding prospect but I've seen him make similar gaffs in the Under-21's. At that level he often got away it but not tonight. He needs a loan to play senior football on a weekly basis. The making of David Raya was his stint at Southport on loan before claiming the number one jersey at Ewood. Michalski needs to do the same. A season sat on the bench as our number two is not going to benefit him. Likewise Montgomery and Tyjon. They are decent young players but not ready for the rigors of Championship football just yet. Miller looks a decent acquisition and Tavares showed some neat touches and the ability to get forward from midfield. Henriksson looked slightly better today than on Saturday but is still very much a work in progress. De Neve took his goal well but was otherwise largely anonymous on the left wing. He looks a bit frail and reminds me - one for older supporters - of Brian Hill. Lets hope he's more successful. Kargbo was a huge disappointment for me. He looks so raw at times and struggled to get the better of his full-back. Of the other subs, I thought Cantwell looked good as did John Buckley. I'm not really sure why we are so intent on moving Buckley on with such a wafer thin squad. The only good news was that my digital ticket worked!
  4. He’s a bigger man than I if he resigns on a 3 year contract - wait for the pay off surely
  5. I would bring in another midfielder and sell the shit out of Buckley. I'm absolutely done with him. He has had far too many chances and doesn't even have the right attitude.
  6. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I find it highly depressing that our homegrown club captain has asked us to leave in order to join Derby fucking County. After our manager and two other players we've allegedly wanted to keep have also chosen to go there (possibly Brittain would have too if Boro weren't in). No disrespect to Derby, they're a solid old club, but this really shouldn't be the state of affairs here. Venkys have utterly ruined us. It's a miracle we're still a Championship side for now, let alone that we were in a position to barely miss the playoffs last season. But the fact all these players and the manager wanted off to Derby despite our utterly different league placings last season shows all is rotten behind the scenes. We're a sinking ship and the rats want out.
  7. In some ways, we were unlucky to go be relegated, shenanigans with Huddersfield and Birmingham. But this team will be down by Easter!
  8. Can't keep a clean sheet and struggle to score more than one.
  9. In the interests of retaining at least a bit of stability at the club I would look to now keep Buckley and let him battle it out with Tavares who I thought looked extremely promising tonight. No need to replace Travis, our immediate pressing need is for a goal scorer and that's where any money must go.
  10. if we do go down this time im`e pretty sure we won`t be coming back up for a long time, long way to go yet though
  11. I said after Saturday, we won't amass 30 points this season and I am sticking with that. The squad is bloody awful.. If Travis does go this week , I might revise it to 25 points.. We will sign someone a lot worse!
  12. We’ve done well with the loan market before but I can’t see the current lot paying the loan fees to get the better players. It’s probably our only option now to get out of the mess we are in and actually get some attacking threat on the pitch. Absolutely toothless again today. Just didn’t offer enough going forward again. Happy with Tavares, thought that was a promising start and he looks like he could be a decent signing for us. Early days but the new signings don’t look too bad. Not convinced with De Neve but he’s popped up with a well taken goal. The new signings were better than the over promoted youth team players who look nowhere near the level they need to be at. I’d argue playing them will damage their future more than letting them play more under 21 games. They are not ready and shouldn’t be pushed into starting competitive games.
  13. Could get really ugly come the end of this transfer window. VI is more or less accepting defeat on a number of players with one year remaining on their contract. Travis and Hyam could both be out, maybe that's why Miller played centre back today? Only one who looks like staying until the end of season is Tronstad. Pears and Buckley are no longer wanted, Dolan, Batth and Weimann already left on a free and Brittain got sold so we're basically clearing out the entirety of last season's squad. Recruitment team might be panicking a bit as well now that all the ESC slots are taken. We're gonna have to sign a whole lot more than just a winger and a striker I'm afraid.
  14. It's plain and simple cost cutting to.providr us with such a paper thin squad clearly not equipped for the rigours of the championship. Get rid of Pears and Buckley for kids on tuppence. Club think we are stupid when anyone with an iota of sense can see they are miles off.
  15. I agree that rolling Buckley, Forshaw and Montgomery into one player wouldn’t make a Championship midfielder. I have a strong feeling about Tavares. Elliott’s assessment of what he’d seen behind closed doors and how highly he rated him pricked my ears this week. He wouldn’t be third choice if Trav stays. I reckon he’d dislodge one of Trav or Sonny anyway. He’s a good player. The interesting one is Henriksson. He looks a little messy and hasn’t clicked yet. But I think there’s a player in there. He found lots of pockets and linked the midfield and forwards well. What I will say off the back of tonight, which aligns with you is that Tyjon isn’t ready, and based on tonight’s squad, Leonard doesn’t appear to be in the picture, so we need a RW, plus a striker and another wide forward for me.
  16. If Gestede and Ismael have any brains and backbone between them they'll be telling the chief bean counter we need to sell Gueye and put that with the Travis money and get a proven forward from somewhere, even if yes it's a bloody loan.
  17. it`s about having better players in the side, they make the right decisions most of the time,if you sell your better players and replace them with ones who ar`nt as good then you get performances like the one tonight
  18. What did he do tonight? After he gave the ball away on the edge of our area he perked up a little and played one or two nice balls but nothing earth shattering. The receiving player still always has it all to do. Does he score any goals? - No Does he provide any assists? - No Does he provide any defence splitting balls which leave the receiving player with a clear cut chance? - No. And this was against League 1 opposition.
  19. Where's Chaddy when you need him? Love to hear everyone's view again tonight on De Neve? Thought Axel looked better tonight, than Saturday, I think he'll be a decent signing. Cantwell looked decent off the bench. Buckley back in the cold felt odd.
  20. These two awful performances have given us chance to see the whole squad in action. I just went back and looked at the squad we went down with in 2017. If those two sides (2017 and 2025) were playing each other this weekend, I don't think there would be much between them. That side we went down with had 12 goals for Graham and 10 for Sam Gallagher in it, I can't see us having two players who hit double figures this season. Grim.
  21. VI is a dead man walking, he will be the first to cop it off the fans, I feel sorry for him in a way. He is poor manager and should never have been appointed, a good six months at Barnsley during Covid is best effort in England.. Gestede will follow next summer, leaving poor old Pasha alone again.. VI resigning in the first month of the new season, might be the best for all concerned!
  22. Another very strange situation with him. Just finding his feet at non league Chorley several rungs below where even Bradford are then hooked, brought back here and in the squad. Odd and looking increasingly stupid.
  23. Replacement's already in the building. Forshaw. 😂
