  2. The Shirelles - Will You Love Me Tomorrow
  3. In my experience moving an attacking midfielder deeper doesnt really change how much they get injured, but open to being convinced. On the numbers of players we have a lot of forwards but only really Tronstad as a proven midfielder, while Tavares has struggled, Baraji is injured and Montgomery and TGH yet to really show what they can do. If Cantwell can perform there it gives us an extra mid which we really need imo, if not now then certainly when we start getting into 3 games a week. Ive seen enough from Todd to suggest he can do it.
  4. I need to stop reading this thread. Madness.
  5. I’ll know better after Saturdays game, it’ll be the first time I’ve been able to see them in the flesh in a competitive game. Ipswich will provide a proper test.
  6. Especially as he was hanging around with no contract from anywhere and just waiting for a call to join Wigan......
  7. Were improving, and the newcomers are beginning to play as a team. I'm more confident than the start of the season.
  8. To be honest I think Gardner-Hickman is a lot more forward thinking than Taveres looking at his clips for Bristol and Brum. Sid offers absolutely nothing going forward based on the first few games.
  9. It has been forwarded on to Yasir, I wait with baited breath
  10. Well, given that the "negative drag from some of the established players," the "cozy environment on and off the field" and the "snake" of a manager have been jettisoned, I fully expect us to go well beyond 7th, what with all these exciting new influx of lads.
  11. Today
  12. I think then we’d be back to having two defensive midfield players who rarely contribute anything in the last third of the pitch. I thought the idea of signing Tavares and the lad who’s got a foot problem at the moment was to get one of the central midfield players to get forward more and join in with attacking play. Granted we haven’t seen a lot of that from Tavares so far.
  13. Has anyone pre-ordered this? I'd really like to get the book but I don't want to of it paints Venky's in any kind of glowing light.
  14. 4-2-3-1. either Gudjohnsen or Ohashi as the "1", with the other one coming off the bench to replace them for the last 20-30 mins, and Gueye on the bench in case they need something different (as well as Ohashi/Gudjohnsen, not instead of) late on. I imagine (and it probably should be) it will be the same 11 as against Watford
  15. I would like to see fortress Ewood returning, I'm going 3-0 to Blackburn Rovers. Ohashi and Gudjohnssen on the scoresheet. Think positive.
  16. I'd like to see Gudjohnssen on from the start, alongside Ohashi. An attacking formation, go for our first home win.
  17. The Penguins -Earth Angel ( Will You Be Mine )
  18. I saw Ipwich's 5-0 win on Friday and until the first goal went in Sheffield United were the best team. The goal had a real touch of fortune about it but the finish from Philogene was really good. From then on Sheffield looked like a team absolutely bereft of confidence and the question was rightly asked about players not playing for the manager. As ever tempo is important and we need to start quickly. For the opening periods of every game so far we have been second best so coming out of the traps with intensity is vital. As in most Championship matches the first goal is important.
  19. Thanks a lot for that. If I can’t pay at the gate I’ll just watch it at home. Looks like the modern trend of making it difficult to attend games has spread even to meaningless “ egg cup “ games at non league clubs now.
  20. It appears you just dont know what you will get from this Rovers side on the day, going to be one of those Seasons...stronger away from Ewood. 1-1 13,700
  21. His biggest critics don't even go to games! Dolan was the one player in our squad that got you out of your seat at times with his attacking flair, I loved watching him. He was inconsistent, thats why he was playing in the Championship, if he was consistent, he'd be in the Prem. He was a good lad too, despite some on here trying to soil his name and I hope he goes on to bigger and better things, he deserves it.
  22. It's such a strong position. He'd need about 20 players to get injured to even make the conversation. (he's also not good enough)
  23. Slim chance of a WC place too potentially? Couple of injuries to England's wingers and Dolan flying in La Liga you just never know! (I know, only 4 games in!)
  24. I think Tavares will improve once he gets used to the physical demands of this league and his new coach Ismael. He certainly has potential, but been very sloppy last couple of games and thankfully Tronstad has been cleaning up after him with his excellent awareness. A bit early to judge the team but there are signs that we have more players offensively that can spot a pass and are willing to run into the box and chase goals, something we have been lacking with Szmodics gone and Cantwell a bit AWOL at times last season. Gudjohnsen seems like a very intelligent player with his movement and touches, but his goalscoring record isn't the best, but hopefully there will be some bees buzzing around his lay-offs that can slot the ball home. Quite certain he's an improvement on Gueye. Impressed with Toth too, good to have a goalkeeper that we can trust.
  25. Not sure, but apparently you can get a free ticket online, so might be worth you doing that just in case https://rochdaleafc.co.uk/tickets/ https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/Tickets/SelectType?fixtureId=14291&isFromDashboard=True
