That 150th special version, simply the new badge in gold with '150 years' below it is the sort of thing Rovers could and should have done. Anyone and everyone looks at it and knows straight away it is special and what the occasion is. Then back to normal the year after. We've instead adopted a white rose on our away kits because it's cheaper to do a monochrome badge than the full colour version and that's about it - nobody outside of the Rovers fanbase would have a clue that we're 2 weeks away from such a monumental anniversary.

They had gone off sale this morning for online sales which perhaps explains it.I Tickets will be available online until 10am on Friday 17th Ocotber. There will be NO SALES ON THE DAY at Coventry. Supporters who still need to collect tickets should be aware that the Roverstore will be open until 4pm on Friday.

One and half blocks never went on sale according to the ticket map. I'd guess around 1500ish. If we had sold 3k the social media handles would be bleating on for days about it.

I was at the Blackburn end right behind the goals. So I got a perfect view of Fred’s “ wedding gift “. Funnily of all his goals that’s the one I remember best.

As I said, it was the first game after the big freeze in 1963, we did well to have any grass at all. Widnes RL club tried to beat the freeze by putting some fancy chemical on their pitch. That killed all the grass !
