  1. Past hour
  2. So fans can't have their traditional boxing day fixtures because the big clubs have cried to the EPL bosses about over working their bloated over paid squads. Unless of course the TV selects a few tasty fixture to be played on that day, no questions asked. The Prem is the land of milk and honey and you have to have something to play for but inn reality it stinks.
  3. The Police - The Bedโ€™s Too Big Without You
  4. Yep, defo need to rest on an age old football day like Boxing Day considering all the commitments players have like playing in empty grounds in the US in June and post season tours to Hong Kongโ€ฆ
  5. Replacement is already here I imagine, with Barrett and Goddard signing new deals. Both would need registering this season as over 21, so that would be our 3 keepers I think. Michelski as Under 21's first choice.
  6. I said ages ago Pears would be flogged for 1 or 2 million total deal and that's why they persisted with him to get development and value as high as possible as quick as possible. It nearly led to a scrap with a couple on here such is the negative hysteria at times that clouds the reality of stuff. I stand by it in fact i pray for it although big Val keeping Toth in might have hampered it a bit but we live in hope he's proven himself an average now quite experienced English Championship keeper. I'm less confident about what will replace him.
  7. The point would be, to get some money back on him, which I will concede is a moot point as income does not affect the budget at this club
  8. I expect Pears to move on cos he wants to number 1 or will get a move to PL as back up keeper I think JRC and Buckley need to move on for their own career and start playing somewhere regular based on what? If you look at the stats he had good season and better than previous season. More than a decent keeper at this level for mid table club
  9. Im sure theres a player who has just been relegated somewhere in Europe that Rudy can snap up on half the wages.
  10. Today
  11. I can't agree that Kent, I don't see the point of re-signing him when he need to play football and develop. He had his chances here and was never good enough Good spot that. I think you are right that Pears will move on and I think its probably right to do so and we will at least get over 1m for more than decent keeper for championship or PL team who wants a number 2 keeper as a back up
  12. Like I have said that its isn't a surprise that Sheffield United new owners want to now start changing things and bring in their own head coach choice which is most likely after a change of ownership, very rare it doesn't after a change of ownership. I don't know alot what king data lead approach they want to bring or whether they done this at other sports clubs if they owned any or other businesses. based on what? Sellas kept them up and that was the aim when they were bottom of the league when he took charge of his first game and in the dug out. I think Hull should have build on what they were doing under Sellas, instead Hull owner went his own way and he did it previously with Rosenier sacking and last season was mess for them When we went into an embargo under Bowyer we could only sign free agent under 10k and loan players in but no loan fee could be paid. I think Rovers should be looking to sign Anthony Musaba from Sheffield Wednesday who we could probably get cheap around 1m for the right wing signing we need
  13. You would expect 3 games moved from the Saturday to Boxing day for PL teams, 12.30, 5pm and 8pm kick off. So its looks like Rovers will be away first game. Wouldn't mind Derby away or Stoke away. Expect Southampton or Charlton away I wouldn't mind Leicester or Wrexham at home first game at all.
  14. Lovely little ground is Shawbridge. Club house is decent too from my hazy memory of proceedings ๐Ÿ˜ Unless I am misremembering, is that four homes in four years for Rovers Women now? Bamber Bridge, Lancs FA, Ewood and now Clitheroe?
  15. At least Cantwell is better than Leon Worst. ๐Ÿ™‚
  16. Their ground will hold 16,000 when their new stand is finished (should be by the end of the season). Which is roughly what we averaged this season, and since their demand is very high I'd expect they'll fill that most weeks (dependent on away fans). Once you add in their commercial income, which they are far, far better at managing than us, they should have a significant financial advantage over us, as depressing as it is to admit. There should be a lot more wriggle room in their wage budget too, as they currently have a League One squad. On top of this, if the rules are still how they used to be, they're effectively starting from scratch on the loss limits, meaning they have three years to pretty much spend how they want before it catches up with them.
  17. Who needs Yamal when you've got Cant(very)well
  18. Clitheroe FC have confirmed this on their Facebook, too. If anyone ever goes to Shawbridge, check the slant from the right hand side to the left hand side at the bottom end of the pitch. It's quite something!
  19. I would actively prefer to have a run as easy as is possible, as you said. Obviously how good any team is, thats totally subjective. In my opinion, the majority of the games we have faced have been favourable, certainly to relative to the stage of the tournament. Compare to the quarter finals we faced under Sven. Southgate regularly showed he could beat teams I personally would consider not to be top level teams. Those teams were the underdogs against us but not without some good players between them, to regularly be able to beat them earns him great credit nonetheless. When we did face a better team, we tended to fall short.
  20. No dynamic pricing thoughโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. BBC Lancs are reporting that the Women will play there home games at Clitheroe next season.
  22. In the 5 world cups that Croatia have been a part of they have come third twice and runners up once. That was not an easy draw. Drawing Italy wasn't easy either. They were a good side and proved it too. And the same for Holland. Switzerland are a team nobody really wants to face as France found out and Spain almost found out too, only scraping by on penalties. It is not touching a nerve, it is addressing a point you make. Each and every faint praise you give Southgate is caveated with how lucky you think the draw was and that he never beat an "elite" team. Who decides who the 'elite' are? You haven't answered that one yet. None of those runs were out of the ordinary for a typical route to an international final. I don't understand why you keep repeating them - almost all international tournament winners would have faced similar teams in their route to the semi or final. What's your point? That they were seen as favourable? Maybe, but none of that diminishes in any way the achievement of Southgate, but you mention it every single time you bring up Southgate's tournament record. For me it doesn't matter one iota. I couldn't care less if we played Papa New Guinea, Fiji and Wales on the way to the Final. In all of the years before Southgate came, getting to the quarters became a success... Now we are looking at anything other than winning a tournament being a failure. That is all on Gareth Southgate. So lucky, blessed by the Gods, a tactical genius - whatever the Council of BRFC decides - he was a resounding success for the national team and the country as a whole
  23. Barcelona teenager, Lamine Yamal, thought to be of interest to a number of championship clubs. Barcelona want at least ยฃ800m for the versatile forward. Blackburn Rovers most keen, but are only willing to do a reach around and a packet of skips.
