  2. Nobody who has 200 million knocking about will buy us. Will not happen.
  3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp9jr79m4v2o Piece on Derby under Eustace. A club making progress.
  4. Given how good Alebiosu has been I suspect they will be encouraged to spend any money on younger players with resale potential. The profit they get from Alebiosu is likely to offset any losses made by signing a few duds like De Neve and Tavares. Reyes Cleary would fit this model and it sounds like he has decent potential. I wonder if we will go back in the Bailey Cadamarteri at Sheffield Wednesday for similar reasons. I have no issues with signing promising youngsters, but I do worry that our current predicament is crying out for Championship experience and in terms of helping us avoid relegation I sense the money would be better spent on this. Of course ideally we would spend on both, but that's not going to happen.
  5. Think we are more likely to sign players NOT wanted by their championship clubs
  6. If we sign someone, who is wanted by other championship clubs, I will be amazed!
  7. This sums it up perfectly such frustrating times current and ahead until they leave
  8. We had several bids in early but January is hard to do business in and we were knocked back by unrealistic prices or gazumped. We did all we could but it'll be an exiting summer instead. Pickering, Ribero, Toth and Tronstad turned down 12 month extensions because they are greedy and some wanted to go home. Gestede Feb 2026.
  9. We haven't been ready for the January window in any of the last 5 years, what on earth makes you think it will be any different this time?
  10. In fairness, when he says things there is a possibility they are true, or partly true. He does get some things right. But there's at least as much chance it's cobblers, so hanging on his every word is ludicrous.
  11. I wouldn't have thought a Kent exile would struggle with a London accent! Until I clicked I assumed he must have reverted to pidgin English. The background noise makes it tougher to make out though. He gave his Nigerian name, that I can't spell, said he liked what I think was a Nigerian dish that I can't spell, said he grew up in Arsenal's youth academy (slightly odd turn of phrase to say he grew up there but hey), and that he likes to sing and makes music on the side, but doesn't release it. He was supposed to give 5 things people didn't know about him, so the 5th one was 'I fucking hate Venkys' (I wish, he couldn't think of a 5th one).
  12. What are we betting? First notable signing (if possible with Rudy) 25th Jan? I'm excluding that Dingle Gibson
  13. the only way venkys are exiting is if they do a chansiri type refusal to pay the bills and let the club slide into administration, might sound bad but i guarantee sheff wed will be in a far better position than us in 3/4 seasons time
  14. The club deserves relegation. The last few transfer windows have been a complete disgrace.
  15. they put bids in to placate the brainwashed (like chaddy) into thinking we are trying to get players in,in reality the bids are so low that they`ll never be accepted,to make it look respectable they then arrange a loan for some over the hill midfielder with the proclamation, the january window is very difficult,we tried but other clubs are in a far better position financially, cue a p****d off manager and players that can`t wait for the summer so they can get away
  16. Today
  17. I just bid for Cleary, Barnsley rejected my offer too Its actually getting the deals done that matters If anyone is interested, my offer was £534,000.26, spread over 76 years, with a 2.5% sell on. Whilst my bid was rejected out of hand, I am the highest bidder thus far
  18. I'll be impressed (ish) if we actually land players early. What use is it putting bids in and having them turned down?
  19. They bid for me, £500 to my mum. I'm shit at football mind you but I'll fit in with half the bench so no worries!
  20. I am struggling with the accent, so if anyone wants to translate ...
  21. Assuming we want to compete at Championship level, any prospective purchaser needs to have enough money to give the Raos what they want to go away, to buy back the training ground (or replace it) & provide sufficient working capital to plug the annual revenue gap unless & until income grows sufficiently to close the deficit. The answer to your question depends on the asking price & the division in which we wish to compete. It costs a lot less to compete with Accrington Stanley than Burnley.
  22. I would imagine so Rovers probably cannot/will not announce it until its official
  23. Is O'Riordan back available for tomorrow? Not seen anything mentioned by Rovers at all. You would think he would be recalled immediately to help bulk the squad out slightly.
