In my group, we loved Tony Field, Kit Napier and Johnny Price, whereas O'Mara was a misfit. A lot of Rovers fans had affection for Endean too, but he didn't light up a game like the other three. Even after all this time, I can feel the pain of Ken Furphy's departure and the negativity around Gordon Lee's introduction and the poor end to a promising season. A few short months later, Gordon Lee was a football God!

He said Martinelli trying to push the injured Bradley off the pitch was an absolute disgrace, which I completely agree with and he was surprised one of the Liverpool players hadn't chinned Martinelli (or similar) which I cant disagree with at all.

Waddington and Fazackerly. That was an incredibly classy CB pairing for Division 3. The Hansen and Lawrenson of the Lower Leagues. Look how attacking that line up was as well Endean, Napier, OMara and Field. Ok they were all pretty crap apart from Field but thats not the point. Game hasn't necessarily changed for the better.
