Of those... Gudjohnsen and Morishita - we definitely miss these two, who are decent enough players at this level. Miller - His long throws make me want to slam my head into a wall. Carter & Wharton - Injured is their default status. Montgomery - Vast majority of his appearances were as a sub, has looked OK but absolutely impossible to know if he's at the level required. Litherland - Ironically only involved because of the injury situation. Backup to the backups, although did do well in his appearances. Hedges - I still find it surreal that people now treat his absence as a monumental blow to our chances of success. Pears - Toth is back and better than Aynsley, so this is only a problem if Toth gets injured again. Can't be considered a disadvantage unless that happens. Kargbo - Zero end product, no footballing brain. Has one above-attribute attribute, pace, and that's it. Tavares - I'd rather play with ten men. So yeah, my view is that we only really miss Gudjohnsen and Morishita - maybe Miller at a push, although I still think he's very much a component of the downgrade. Difficult to say on Montgomery and Litherland as we haven't seen enough of either to know if they can be useful for consistent periods. The rest are, imo, largely useless either because they're never fit or just not very good.

If they had held off for another 12-18 months we could've been sold for £100M+ instead of what was it £29M? -

One presumes if they do then Sargent will be sold to balance the finances. Would make sense as he has refused to play for them and wants out. Hard to come back from. -
No debates on Duff here! Except, maybe, regarding injuries towards the end of his career. Had we held on to Hakan Unsal, the Turkey left back, he may well have gone on to be one of our best left backs. Worthy mentions for Andre Ooijer and Eyal Berkovic. The striker, Kalinic is an odd one, scored goals in Serie A but flopped here. Not necessarily the worst but players that disappointed: David Yelldell Deyovaisio Zeefuik Lorenzo Amoruso Amine Linganzi Barry Douglas Martin Andresen Oumar Kounde Radosan Petrovic Corrado Grabbi Egil Ostenstad Maceo Rigters

According to the Telegraph, Norwich are trying to sign Bodo's actual striker, Kasper Høgh. If Transfermarkt is to be believed, he'll cost significantly more than Jorgensen, but does have an impressive goalscoring record. -

Its where Batty played at Accrington last season. Picked up several young player of the year awards too Powell probably more suited to being a creative wing back though

I assumed they'd still count him as injured/unavailable, as he'll just be building up his match fitness playing for the U21's. 13 players sounds worse than 11, even if you're effectively making 2 or 3 of them up. Technically Carter isn't injured either, as he played for the U21's last night. He still counts though. -

Yep. "We have too many players out injured" "When they're back, we'll be fine" "Too many refereeing decisions are going against us" "We were beating Ipswich when the game was called off" "We were beating Sheff Wed when the game was called off" "The data shows we should be higher in the league than we are" "We're in a period/season (adjust based on length of shambolic performances) of transition" -

and neither did I!!! "If I get the impression that the likes of you and @roversfan99are NOT in a minority of folk disliking these types of post then I will simply stop posting". As you seem to have difficulty understanding, let me clarify - if it was clear there was a big number of posters (ie "NOT in a minority") who disliked or rubbished my postings then I would simply stop posting. I do not need the aggravation and I only post in good faith and try to make a contribution to this MB community. -
It takes cutthroat interested executives with a reasonable level of autonomy to see through it and do something. Something Venky’s wouldn’t even want present at the club.

The problem we have here is that Gestede, Owen, Ismael and maybe even Pasha (although I suspect he's chucking the rest under the bus right now) are all in it together. The appointment of the Ismael himself, the dross we've signed, the shocking performances all down to these clowns collectively. They won't be in any hurry to bin Ismael off, or sell any of the poor signings in desperate hope it all clicks and we suddenly start winning games. It's a collective failure and they're coming up with all the excuses as to why it's not working. -

So what does Adam Owen actually do? What is the function of a "technical director"? This appears to be a non-job to me, but one for which I'm sure he's well paid Clubs used to be a simple. There was a manager, who managed the team (obviously), a trainer, and a secretary. They had one of two assistants, but that was about it. Now I'm told (usually by Chaddy) the game has changed and the we have to have "directors of coaching", "technical directors", "heads of recruitment", specialist coaches for forwards, defenders, goalkeepers, free kicks, corners and throw-ins, a huge number of people at great expense who, it seems to me, add no value whatsoever -

The Walkers sold out at exactly wrong time. Money coming into the Premier League was about to explode, and we were one of the clubs riding the gravy train. They prided themselves on being business people but they got it badly wrong
