  1. Past hour
  2. Brainless tackle for the second yellow, almost identical to one he should have been sent off for in his first season at palace against Burnley, I liked that one though!
  3. We’ve got ourselves into a situation where every game becomes vital and tough games that on paper a point wouldn’t be terrible demand all 3. We risk being stranded if teams around us put a run of form together. ’Must win’ - won’t win!
  4. The lad can finish if he's right in front of goal but offered little to nothing else for me. Unfortunately, we need this to be the second coming because we have nothing else available.
  5. And it maybe wasn’t even the best goal his team scored that game! I liked the Arsenal of old under Wenger but wouldn’t be sad to see this lot bottle it. Burnley with 2 really solid points in the last couple of games but results around them mean they are even further adrift.
  6. There has definitely been some baiting. I have to be honest and find the attempts to gloat a bit hard to take. I can't fully understand it. I don't think there are many supporters who do not agree with the end goal - to get rid of Venky's - and so any action organised by fellow fans should at least be supported, even if you decide it is not right for you to participate. It appears that some supporters have fallen in to this sort of paradox - where in one statement they will say they absolutely want rid of Venkys, and then in another cheer a perceived failure by a fan group to accelerate that end result. Social media has a lot to do with it, where fans find themselves locked in text based arguments - but unable to reason fully due to text limits - and then find themselves pushed to an extreme as all of the middle ground is eaten up with constant argument and accusation. There is just no way I could ever find myself laughing, ridiculing or cheering on the failure of a fan-led movement or organisation which goes against the Venkys. I really do not like the term "complicit" in this argument. It was wrong for some supporters to say that if you did not support the boycott you were complicit. However, I don't think it is wrong to say that celebrating a supposed failure of the boycott is in many ways helping the Venkys, Suhail and Rudy to remain in control of the narrative. Is this complicit? For those reasons above, I don't think it is the coalition who need to do some soul-searching. I think it is the fans who denigrate the coalition who do. There's a trap here - they have conflated their doubts over the efficiency of a boycott and their support for the coalitions objectives. Littered within all of the tittle tattle there were supporters who quite clearly opposed the boycott, but now started championing other forms of protests. Letter dumps to Venky HQ, red cards, sit ins after the game and the now infamous "let's fill Ewood to show investors". It is a startling sense of entitlement that one should now jump to support your idea of how to get rid of Venkys, when it has been weeks and weeks of ridicule of this idea. Although, with that said, I would support any and all action that accelerated the demise of Venkys and so if the coalition want me to make an effort to attend a certain game, I'm here for it and I really do hope that those promises of support weren't soundbites. I look forward to seeing full participation in the next round of action
  7. Looking at the attendances from across the EFL and National League there was 9 League One, 1 League Two and 2 National League matches with higher attendances than the 7,600 at Ewood Park.
  8. Today
  9. Just another in a long line of chancers who never would've got a look-in pre-Venky's. Out of his depth and just looking to use Rovers to monkey-branch his way to a better gig. The fact he went on protest here as a player merely adds to the unsavouriness of it all.
  10. We went into that season with a load of optimism, real buzz around the ground that night… of course we fell away.
  11. It even seems after a goal they blow the whistle after kick off.
  12. That return, would probably keep us up, but I can’t see us picking up even that many. The next 2 at home could be crucial, but I can’t see us picking up even a point on Saturday, so the Sheff Weds game, then becomes high pressure.
  13. Thats what Im wondering too. It would not surprise me if is true, but what’s the source?
  14. Yesterday
  15. Not sure Gudjohnsen would be much cop upfront on his own. I think his success was largely down to having a strike partner who did all the running/donkey work.
  16. Yeah, for that English ref to blow for time a split second before a Brazil player headed the ball in to goal from a corner was ridiculous. Anybody else would have waited until either a goal was scored or the ball was cleared.
  17. Spotted this on eBay earlier. Interesting quote from RG.
  18. You can't not drop someone after they play that badly. Nobody is saying that we literally have to play him, just that it costs us money every time we don't. If he had remained in the side in the next game it would have confirmed that theory and given ammo against the regime. Plus he clearly needed a game out of the firing line, and a bit of a kick into gear. The fact he came back in so quickly after, ahead of someone who actually plays that position, further reinforces the theory.
  19. I'm talking from the perspective of a loaning club. An ever-present, a frequent scorer, and a 3 million quid new signing isn't going to make them feel like their lad will definitely get game time without guarantees, in what may only be one spot.
  20. It all started off so well. He was a highly regarded poster who would provide us all with important season ticket sale updates using his own calculation system. He loved being the "go to" man on this matter. He duly took the praise that came his way. His opinion was respected. He was a part of the family...and then suddenly... things changed. They say "never meet your heroes" and you @Goozburger are the embodiment of that for me. I can't say how disappointed and stunned I was when I randomly one day, happened to stumble upon the other forum, only to see Goozburger laying into this forum and it's members for being "negative" and using other hurtful words that I can't bring myself to repeat. I couldn't believe it. I thought things were cool? How wrong I was. It really did feel akin to that gutting feeling you're left with after seeing what your hero is really like. He stated it was the negativity and moaning that drove him away from here. What he calls "negativity" is what I call people "saying it as it is". I do not recall anybody personally abusing him or telling him to shut up or anything as such when on here. He'll know better than me on that front. If anything like that has happened, then I may understand his disdain for this place, to a point. However if any of us "saying it as it is" over the years about Pasha, Venky's, the crooked agent tossers etc is what has upset you and caused you to do a Sol Campbell on us...then me and I suspect nobody on here will ever apologise for that. We cannot apologise for speaking bluntly about what has happened to our club and the people at the heart of it. They deserve every bit of stick that comes their way. It's nothing personal against you, Gooz. It never was. Of course, you are entitled to debate on here and share your opinions. Nobody is telling you otherwise. However, I can't tell you how sad it was to see you turn up here on Saturday evening with a smug 'ha, how did the boycott go?' type of vibe. If you're honest with yourself, you will know that I am correct with that assessment. That's exactly what you tried to do but then tried to bat off as respectful opinion. Anyway... it's never too late, you silly sausage. Pull yourself together and remember what we once had. Get away from those no hopers you associate with, and get back home on here, is my advice. You will see when the poison has left this club and we are back in the Premier League under new owners that the noisy lot on here were spot on to be calling out all the bullshit. Spot on to be trying boycotts and more. That time is coming.
  21. 3 points from the last 6 games! Just saying....
  22. When did it become the narrative that Dack was anything but fully focused?
  23. The whole "18 games to play, 54 points still to play for", really loses its gravitas when in the last 18 games we've played, we've only picked up 22 points Forgive me for being cynical Val
  24. Maybe Bradley Dack would be more focused for us, now he has split from his missus apparently.
  25. Spot on. They have both been solid left backs playing in a normal uncomplicated system. And they have experience. I guarantee they would all play better with an English manager playing a simple style of football and letting them express themselves. Itvis early days but it seems to be working for United.
  26. The loudest alarm going off for me is the fact we haven't seen able to beat any of the teams around us. As far as I can remember we have dropped points to every single team from 16th downwards, even Sheffield Wednesday. Granted some of those were draws, but still, I think the signs are extremely ominous if we are not able to prove ourselves superior to a single one of the teams we're battling out with on an individual basis. With how tight the league is this year, it's entirely plausible that as the season ends there will still be a ton of teams competing for a top six spot - which means less likelihood of teams being 'on the beach' or resting players for upcoming playoff games.
