Release him and possibly waving goodbye to 1 million compensation isn't the right way to go he's 100% leaving anyway and his contract will run till end of June probably so nothing will happen before then i don't think.

Apparently his contract has a 1 year option clause, so he wont be on a free this summer -
Arsenal all over PSG right now, but they need to score or the inevitable will happen. Donnarumma has just made an outstanding save, low to his left, thunderbolt from the edge of the box. Think Flowers VE Day, but better.

Josh windass on a free? Always thought him to be a threat, getting on but these post 30 players can be very handy in the champ. I’d have him -
If Dolan won't sign for whatever reason put him on the release list. We've been through enough player issues and don't want this lingering throughout the summer. He doesn't want to play for us, he thinks he's a better player so let him go and prove it. If he ends up at on a premiership bench or sub for another championship club on £8k more per week than now then that's his choice. We need to move on and close this thread.

Hedges and Dolan cant be lumped in together. Dolan is far more productive. We also cant let Pickering go just because he wouldnt necessarily be automatic starter. Although from what I have seen from Ribeiro I would prefer Pickering anyway. -

Blackburn Rovers Women
Darmond replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Rovers Women did fantastically well to stay up this season after our squad was decimated. Players and staff did really well all things considered - a greatly under-appreciated achievement. Do we know for sure the club are willing to allow the team to continue next season? Until we know that, there is a chance we could become another Reading. Would feel unnecessary as tv money to Champ teams is going up again. There is typically little crossover between men and women's football so growing Rovers Women is about new people at Ewood (might explain the low engagement on this thread on this site). Stewarding costs mean playing at Ewood much more expensive than not playing. Threading the pitch was designed to make it able to handle both women's and men's team games. The Women only get 12 home league games a season. Paying for the stewarding would make sense if those in charge of the club actually understood women's football and it's opportunity. They don't because that requires a lot more effort and innovation so they lazily market to the men's supporters and gutted our most successful team last offseason and wonder why fans don't turn up. Add in the reported attitude of Waggott to them as per comments and articles last summer and here we are. Investing properly in the women's team would actually be a reasonably low-cost way for Venkys to actually have some success. -
All this claptrap about Dolan being a superb player for Rovers. He flatters to deceive and is bang average Championship standard as far as I'm concerned. Get a decent price for him, say £1 M, and he can leave!

I doubt very much hes been dropped when playing well although it could be tactics but if he was doing so well and was a good player at that level he'd have been back in. Same thing has happened twice now so there's a reason for it although never rule out it could be to do with money and possible appearance fees. Either way it's character building which is 50% the reason why young players get loaned down the leagues in the first place. -
Maybe Rovers are getting low on cash. The impediment that 'doesn't exist' is actually proving to be be very much an impediment. Venky's don't want to pay a bond so are now trying to rush through an appeal to remove the requirement. None of this was important to them when we still had Wharton, Raya and Szmodics money coming in so they weren't too bothered about the postponed court cases. Seems like they are now?
-
Both the original case and the appeal were brought by the Venkys against the relevant government department. Tomorrow’s hearing is a new appeal but both the case number for this and for the original case are contained within the listing. The first hearing for the new appeal (have I lost you yet??) was adjourned on 24th April as the judge was on holiday. The hearing tomorrow is with the same judge (as 24/4) so hopefully they checked he’d be back at work first!!

My view on a few things: Dolan - would defo keep him if we could but he’s gone Hedges - let him go Weimann - review injury maybe keep on a low base salary if possible Batth - try and get renewed Forshaw - no real view, if super cheap maybe keep around as a last option Pears - consider offers if received Buckley / JRC - accept any offer Gueye - I expect him to move on, his usefulness is proven on his day but his day isn’t often enough and seems less so under VI and I could see us breaking even Could also see us having to fend off interest for Travis, Brittain and Sonny and by fend off interest I mean have the used car salesman bug them up with the press and agents I expect a mass exodus at youth levels as well -
Worrying for the lad, from being here, his home town team to those injuries then being released and picked up by Barrow and injured and released again He’ll do well to get a football league contract but feel he needs a solid season staying fit to prove himself, could see him in the Scottish lower leagues maybe

I don't agree at all. You can want to play and prove yourself but simultaneously have your confidence eroded. Leading to you giving your all but self doubt being an invisible choke around your neck. You work hard but you second guess yourself, your touch is slightly off, any skewed pass feels like a vindication of the criticism against you, etc. As I said they're things the best can sometimes overcome if they have enough self belief and positivity, but it's by no means easy. And this is all assuming his continued absence is actually even down to poor performance. All I know is his early showings were highly regarded by fans at both clubs, suddenly he was dropped and pretty much stayed in the wilderness. A manager that will drop you when you're playing well probably doesn't care that you're still playing well in cameos later. -

The stats don't show that to be the case. Was a starter early on at both loan clubs, at Bristol, it seems he fell out of favour with the manager who was later sacked, at Tranmere, he was a regular starter until the manager who signed him was sacked, and then he was a bench player under the new guy -

If you're a young player you just want to play and prove a point there's a career to be had wherever you end up so iv'e no sympathy. He's either not up to much in reality or thee is an attitude problem for which case a kick up the arse does no harm. Strikes me as a fiesty character from what we've seen on the pitch so doesn't look like a head down type but the clubs that took up obviously just did so for back up. -
Nah the Champions League and that TNT is rubbish, it’s no Fulham v Wolves.
-
I watched both of the Barca/Inter games, both were fabulous entertainment and both are great teams. Barca missed their regular full backs Kounde and Balde, which I think weakened their defence a lot. They have an inability to clear their lines at times which cost them. Inter will take some beating.
-
Real shame for him, wasn't even fit enough for the bench until late February, (think he still had the injury he had at Rovers when he signed for them, and then had a new issue when he was meant to make his comeback before Christmas) and in the end only made 4 sub appearances this season. As you say, hopefully he gets sorted with a club and manages to kick start his career Some quotes from the Barrow forum of him below "Wonder if Sam Barnes has been asked back for a trail pre season Andy Whing spoke warmly of him the other day" "Only players I'm surprised with is Barnes (thought he played well after coming back in to the squad and had a good game against colchester) and Vassell thought he would be kept but maybe he's off higher, apart from that looks like a full rebuild in the works." "Looks like we have cut ties with Barnes, he will probably go on to play a couple of seasons relatively injury free somewhere and boy does he deserve that bit of luck, but that’s the gamble and lessons will have been learned going forward." "The club obviously think Barnes isn’t going to achieve the level of fitness to be worth his wage , at the end of the day we aren’t a charity and have lost enough money on players like that over the recent years. Despite that I hope he proves us all wrong."
-
After an injury hit season Sam Barnes has been released by Barrow. Hopefully he can get fixed up somewhere and stay injury free to fulfil the potential he showed at Rovers.

Am I right in thinking that there are (or were) in essence 2 different cases? One (the original) which the Indian Government has brought against the Venkys And another where Venkys are/were appealing to send money overseas (the one which Waggott seems to think is no longer an issue?) If so, I presume tomorrows case is regarding the original case?
