Wharton will stay at Palace this season. It’s the best environment for him for now, a move now would only add pressure. He knows that as he’s got his head screwed on. He’ll star at the World Cup and will be able to name his team after that. The lad is a different level, every top club in Europe will want him next summer.

His through balls were promising. But he was nowhere for their first goal - I think he even looked towards the free man, but stayed still. Hedges at least has defensive discipline and work rate. Would it have stopped that first goal? Who knows, but Axel was asleep for it. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Blow-in replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Why would he leave a championship club who cannot afford to sack him where he will be under no pressure and has a 3 year contract. To take a chance with another at best relegation candidate where he will quite likely get sacked in 6 months. Only way this guy leaves voluntarily is if Rovers stop paying wages. I think he will continue to half arse it till the end of contract. I cannot see the fans turning on him. -

Did you watch Hedges play last week? He’s League One level at best. Another parasite from the Tony Mowbray era, hanging on until the end of his contract as no-else is silly enough to buy him. Also McLoughlin will start before Wharton. Unfortunately all the footballing talent in his family went to his younger brother. He’s well past his best. -

No way Cantwell is captain material, and Wharton isn't a guaranteed starter off injury and up against McLoughlan. Tronstad or Hyam are the options, neither of whom are particularly inspiring or vocal leaders. -

Why play Travis if he wants out? He's hardly going to 100% with a turned head. Said earlier I don't blame the lad but it unfair on him & fans if he plays. -

It'll be the price that puts off plenty potential walk ups not the database. Oh and for context i think there was about 1400 Brum fans last time... -

Im all for bashing the club, but we’ve always done this with large followings even pre-Venkys. Also it is not happened cos we’ve given Brum 7500 tickets, it’s cos they’ve sold them. Had we only given them 4000 tickets the issue would be worse. Id be amazed how many people who haven’t got tickets already will want to attend this but aren’t on the database. -

We Shouldn't correct. But we know the Travis fee isn't getting spent so it will be a choice of a loan or a cheap foreign punt -

Lets hope we are closing in on a right wing/sided attacking player given what Mafoumbi's account has done. I hope its someone who can have instant impact and play some part on Saturday game against Birmingham. Miyoshi was be very good but if its him then we should have got that transfer done weeks ago. A right winger signing should have been one of the biggest priority of us. On the Travis Situation, I'm not shocked that Eustace and Derby wanted him. Eustace and Travis were always close. No the contract situation should have been sorted before now which has lead us selling Brittain and Possible selling Travis if our asking price is met plus the fact he wants to leave isn't great. I always thought Travis might leave this summer with Brittain and Tronstad being the once to sign new contracts. Ismael confirmed Rovers have put good contracts offers to them. I don't expect Travis to be here come September which is disappointed but if he wants out then lets get the best deal and sign a replacement. I would be looking at Reading centre midfielder Charlie Savage from Reading. Preston centre midfielder Ali McCann or Watford centre midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru. Who replacing Travis as Captain, I see 3 candidates, Sonny Tronstad, Scott Wharton and Todd Cantwell Before the window we deffo need another forward who can play up front but also wide. It appears that Leonard won't be part of Ismael's plans this season. Maybe another signing if Buckley leaves which I hope he does for himself and his playing career and a replacement for Pears if he does leave -

to purchase a ticket for saturday, anyone rovers fan wanting to pay on the day must be on the rovers database,as we`ve given birmingham 7500 tickets,**** your own fans and just cater for the away ones,is it any wonder noone wants to come to ewood anymore,****** indian parasites -
They've brought zubimendi in. I'd guess atm arsenal would see Wharton as a project player which is bullshit. I think he'd slot alot quicker into real Madrid's side

Harsh, he's played two games and looked suspect in both. I'm not saying he can't improve- I bloody hope he does! He's a young lad in a new country and is clearly a bit nervous.. However, to suggest he's done more than Hedges in these two appearances is ludicrous.. Hedges, whilst he most certainly has his limitations has also had some cracking games for us. Once/if Axel actually starts playing well I'll gladly shift my opinion.. -

Real Madrid are interested in Wharton. He'd fit into their team perfectly. They've lost modric. He's the perfect player to play the number 6 role for them. His price tag will only be higher next summer

No way. Henriksson was a little rusty, sure. But there’s a player in there, he found more space in between the lines, threaded passes in behind, and looked more dangerous in 50 minutes than Hedges has looked in his entire time at Rovers.
