  1. Past hour
  2. Those making the decisions at Ewood are living in some sort of Parallel universe from the rest of us.
  3. Hedges is out for a couple of weeks which presumably will turn into over a month as tends to happen now. Under no circumstances should he bring in the useless De Neve.
  4. Why would it require talks if he has a pre agreed fee in his contract? Im not convinced by him. Very average and wouldnt be rushing to sign him permanently.
  5. Way back when I would stop and see my grandad on the way home from school as he wrote the draw down as it happened (live from Soho of course!) and he would give me the list to mull over as I walked back. Wonderful memories. I remember posting on here a few days before our fateful QF at Bramall Lane a couple of years ago that I was literally bouncing around with excitement. It may be old and weary these days but my god when it sparkles it is utter magic.
  6. Standard defeat at Wigan away (if they beat Barrow)
  7. I've been one of the biggest supporters of the current regime, they've taken English cricket to another level, a winning level and I've loved almost every minute of it. But the catching has been abysmal throughout this tenure, something you can practice till the cows come home, which I’m sure they do, but dropping that many catches could well have lost us this test and ashes. I'm sure the ball will come into question and under lights, but its not just this test. Not good enough Stokes/McCullum.
  8. I’m sure he’s a nice lad but John Buckley getting a cap it’s embarrassing And clearly just because he’s over visiting during his mid season break.
  9. Exactly. The quality will be massively reduced now there are 48 teams and most of the jeopardy is removed in the group stages now most 3rd place teams go through. Making the top 4 seeded teams is also a stupid decision. Thats before you even consider non footballing issues.
  10. Cantwell was back on it weeks/months before he finally turned out (perhaps they are smoking it, rather than playing on it). As for tomorrow, heart says drab 1-0 win. Head says 1-1 and more "woe us" storylines from the management.
  11. Not to mention Ronaldo avoiding the two game ban to ensure he's playing. Like you say, it's already beginning to smell and it's still a good six months away.
  12. I still like the FA Cup but its a dead competition these days. No replays, games kicking off at anytime between a Thursday evening and Monday evening, empty grounds, sides playing reserve teams even if they sit comfortable mid table in the prem. My guess is we'll get West Brom at home.
  13. Rovers giving more caps to players who don't make our initial list? Simon Barker John Buckley? The luckiest to get a cap so far?
  14. I think tomorrow's the day we finally see out a 1-0 win, accompanied with frustration about why we couldn't do that in the previous two games. There's enough about our first 11 and recent performances to suggest things are going to pick up soon, IMO. A nostalgic look back on this fixture from 1997. 20 minute highlights:
  15. Sheffield Wednesday will be looking at this thinking they can get a rare win so them and there fans will be right up for it.
  16. I know! I was agreeing with him. 🙂
  17. Do you suspect they are keeping hold of Brockhall in case of any sale / Admin they have a bargaining chip to squeeze out extra cash of any possible buyer to buy it back? They could presumably return it to the club or charge a peppercorn rent? neither happening.
  18. I think there may have been a hint of sarcasm in RF99's post
  19. Today
  20. Every season we are the Champions of the 'What If' league table. Maybe Ismael has spent the last few days drawing up a table on a piece of paper that will show us in the same position as we would be if Chaddy's predictions always came true - top with a perfect record and barely any goals conceded. He might as well at this point.
  21. This world cup makes me feel very uneasy. The location it's being held in, the unnecessarily expanded format, the manipulation to ensure 'bigger' countries don't get eliminated early... no sir, I don't like it. Although of course I'll still watch it, out of morbid curiosity if nothing else.
  22. Have to say I was genuinely shocked by how poor Ipswich were. When you consider the inherent talent in the squad, I think they were the worst team to visit Ewood this season - and by that I mean how the team played on the day relative to expectation, not necessarily the overall worst team. It was the same in the first match tbf, maybe your lads just don't like travelling that far north. It'll be interesting to see if your owners spend any more in January. Seems a fair amount of the recruitment since the promotion to the PL has been flawed, although I think with sales the club is still technically in net transfer profit? In terms of what you're getting on the pitch versus the amount spent on fees and wages though... nowhere near good enough.
  23. That last point you make is very real. Where will the big bucks come from when that money runs out? Cantwell, Alebiouso,Toth, Gudjohnsen, Tronstadt? Beyond those there not much at all and even these won't break the bank
  24. And there is the never ending project. It never ends because as soon as we get anywhere players quite rightly expect improved/extended terms which the club is unwilling to provide and other clubs start to take notice and offer them more than this regime is willing to offer. Still, in the middle of this is highly lucrative employment for the people facilitating it, not to mention the agents tasked with bringing in their clients to fill the void every summer, so at least someone is benefiting. Just not Blackburn Rovers or the supporters.
  25. 40+ in front now with 4 wickets left. 5 dropped catches. I fear played two, lost two and series already gone. Not good enough from England against a pretty ordinary Aussie team.
