nicko Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 My next thought was that we'll probably get all excited and nothing whatsoever will come of it. THERE IS ALWAYS THAT POSSIBLE OUTCOME...BUT I CAN'T FAULT THEM FOR MAKING THIS GUY A TARGET.

Beta Ray Bill Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I CAN'T FAULT THEM FOR MAKING THIS GUY A TARGET Is it Guido San Andreas - the half Italian half Mexican striker?
John Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 So a striker..... Without really thinking about it, would have to go for Eidur Gudjohnsen.
ihateburnley Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 but it will depend on the fee, somebody leaving and the player wanting to come. Really? That statement could apply to Ronaldo.
Cocker Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Unashamed plug department. I'm going to name the dream target for January...who, how and why...in the Sunday People. The chances of pulling it off are greater than I thought at first, but it will depend on the fee, somebody leaving and the player wanting to come. However it's a live one and very interesting. No more clues. You never know who's watching. If it turns out to be huddlestone I will be disappointed.
nicko Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 If it turns out to be huddlestone I will be disappointed. You won't be disappointed then...
nicko Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Duff? The player or the info? No to the player...and the info's good...
RevidgeBlue Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Defoe? ok i dunno what happened there Jermain Defoe and his previously undiscovered twin? That would certainly cause a stir. Just checked and was surprised to learn Defoe is 25. He's not an up and coming young prospect any more and theoretically should be at his peak. He certainly needs to move somewhere and make things start happening for himself.
Ricky Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I think Defoe is a cracking player and certainly wouldnt be dissapointed if we went for him. However I think it'll be an overseas player. Also am I the only one who's a little concerned that if it is good info and a genuine target, having it all over the People tomorrow probably wont help us secure the player as other teams could make a move.

I don't think that is a problem in this case...
philipl Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 The player or the info? No to the player...and the info's good... good answer!
nicko Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 riquelme? I wish...but he just signed for Boca Juniors.
Mozzer Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 is there anything on these trialists?? ie have they impressed or anything???
nicko Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 is there anything on these trialists?? ie have they impressed or anything??? I believe both played in a closed-door game and might be asked back. But I don't think there is a potential Nelsen and Samba in those two. Lance Davids is a midfielder, converted to a right back and according to my Swedish mate he is 'average' and may not get a work permit. Djiba is a midfielder who started well at Metz as a kid but can't get in a side at the bottom of the table. I don't see either of those making a difference...but I could be wrong.
rebelmswar Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 It must be Defoe, as he is the name you ignore the most and not answer about when posed the question.
herbergeehh Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Shearer is coming back, isn't he? Benni needs to leave because he wants Mike Newell alongside him? Are we closing in??

modes98 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I don't see either of those making a difference...but I could be wrong. Samba was in Berlin's C team so you can't rule a player out because they can't get into the team.

No Ricky you are not. I think we should make Nicko sign the Official Secrets Act at once.
den Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Unashamed plug department. I'm going to name the dream target for January.. I never thought I'd see rovers in the running to sign Kaka. Fantastic.
