modes98 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 What is up with that pitch? That can't be helping. I think that's their plan! Didn't help for emerton's back pass for the second and isn't helping our game. Tough task in hand now, 3 goals needed at ewood. Bentley should not have been booked, he even pointed at the ball and asked the linesman for the corner. So how can he be looking for a pen?
brfc fan Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 You're not fit! You're not fit! You're not fit to wear the shirt! You're not fit to wear the shirt!
LeChuck Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I think that's their plan! Didn't help for emerton's back pass for the second and isn't helping our game. We should be smart enough and versatile enough to change our game to adapt though, we surely have enough players in the squad for it. As fantastic as I think Hughes is, I feel we're being very naive at the moment by playing the first choice eleven week-in, week-out if they're fit. We need to be more adaptable and make use of the huge squad we have. I don't believe that the same eleven should be required to play at Chelsea and against Larissa.
Eddie Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 We may well have blown a large part of our season today.
Daremz Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Where are all the 'we'll maybe finish top 4!'-comments now? Don't get too excited too soon lads. This proves we just have an average squad without any creative depth in central midfield and, if we don't have our day, can be beaten by any team. But, to be honest, better now, than this sunday. Still, faith. If we can only snuggle in the away goal, things will get a lot easier at Ewood..faith!
rebelmswar Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 No threat: Blackburn are failing to create any threat and McCarthy looks disinterested as Warnock is penalised for a foul throw From Sky Sports I think that was our problem right there.

I don't believe that the same eleven should be required to play at Chelsea and against Larissa. I agree on both counts but we just haven't adapted to the conditions or even turned up. Hughes is a fan of going for a strong team in the first leg and then trying to get the tie over and done with.
1864roverite Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 THE END. I agree on the evidence of the commentary Rovers have produced nothing but embarrassment on themselves. a 2-0 defeat on this occasion seems to have put us out of eufa for another season, one things for sure a crowd of around 7000 will be lucky to see the return leg based on this performance
Mr. E Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 we've just thrown our season away. It's gonna take a miracle and a half to overturn this mess. I'm just ###### off out of my mind
philipl Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 This will need a miracle of sorts back at Ewood.
Exiled_Rover Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 They should all be fined a weeks wages. Disgraceful performance.
brfc fan Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 NOW IT'S THE END. Worst match ever. Miracle needed at Ewood.
Eddie Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 No threat: Blackburn are failing to create any threat and McCarthy looks disinterested as Warnock is penalised for a foul throw From Sky Sports I think that was our problem right there. Right. Blame it all on Benni.
Texan Rover Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 What a bunch of whiney little girls. Ok, so the performance tonight was poor. (At least I assume it was, as I didn't see it on TV. Then again, neither did many of those who have given up the season.) But if some little ######-pot Greek club can beat Rovers 2-0 on their patch, then what's to stop the reverse from happening at Ewood? Why the certainty that our participation in Europe must be finished? I'm no happier than anyone else with this result, but blimey, the defeatism here is an embarrassment!
Andy_f Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I think we should be happy with a 2-0 loss! could have been more and we deserved to lose by more! im really disappointed by the way we played more so than the result - i can take losing but losing like we did is a disgrace
cn174 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Well that was a very bad performance. We never looked like scoring and our defence was shaky at best. Good job we had Friedel to make a couple of other important saves or else it could've been all over.
Daremz Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 we've just thrown our season away. It's gonna take a miracle and a half to overturn this mess. I'm just ###### off out of my mind And that, while some people even dared to talk about UEFA-Cup Glory? Even if we somehow manage to qualify, we never ever may think of that, because if we had played a side of English Premiership quality we've could been beaten by like...6-0. Ah, this sunday, we play an English Premiership team! I feel us being overestimated by a few. Sunday is the chance to prove everyone wrong. But it'll be hard, because Pompy will come at us with all their guns, knowing we had a hard (physical and mental, although I doubt anyone being tired after this performance) match today.
Ronin Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Be interesting to hear Hughes' comments on this one. Hopeful/wishful of a 3-0 win for us in the return leg, but by what people are saying, I sincerely doubt we have it in us.
rebelmswar Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Right. Blame it all on Benni. No threat: Blackburn are failing to create any threat and McCarthy looks disinterested as Warnock is penalised for a foul throw That is not what I was getting at all. Read the whole sentence there are three negatives there, it must be an abysmal performance for him to write that

I'm just ###### off out of my mind Sorry, but can't agree. Embarrassing & disapointing yes, but not the end of the season. How important was the UEFA Cup this time last year when we were really struggling in the League? The tie isn't over.
