I think his magic is rubbing off already, there is a great deal of optimism about the place and fans are actually looking forward to a match

Yes Defo, I think Saturday is going to be a great atmosphere:

It would not suprise me if the £10m kitty is true and that they did infact hold back from Ince, as some of his targets sounded very dodgy. I mean looking at people like Mk dons keeper, Orr, Whitebreads son etc is very poor.

How's this for the City game?

"He's seen your results

He's checked that they're right

He's gone and found out that City are sh*te

Santa Cruz is staying in town"

That's pretty good. :rover:

Today's Manchester Evening News claims that he has a release clause which is triggered by offers over 18 million euros and that he wants to go.

He picked up a calf strain in training today and is doubtful for tomorrow.

If he got the opportunity to go to a bigger club, he would like the chance to go.

Quick rundown of what Roque said:

Not spoken one-to-one with Sam yet

Sad to see Ince go, players also responsible

Should Ince have had more time? Players knew lack of wins would see manager out but couldn't get it

Nob interviewer (Colin Murray) "Other team's fans of you. Are you staying at Blackburn this season?" RSC points to his contract. Happy at Blackburn but still looking to improve his football. Ambitions to play for big side - Europe, Title - doesn't mean he's not happy. Fantastic people/fans/everybody. If a chance to play for better squad he will do it.

CM: "If club came in 20m, would it best for you and for Blackburn?" Laughs - dodges question at first. Blackburn don't want to lose players. Hard go get involved. Has feeling for the club so tough decision. Repeats that he wants to improve. If he got a better offer from an ambitious club - he would like to take it.

He also complemented Mark Hughes: got him back to football

Murray was very direct about a the Man City link but Roque didn't do a very good job at being diplomatic. He wants out. Hopefully he can be either put in his place or convinced otherwise. Perhaps he's looked at the comments Bentley made in the summer and he thinks he can do the same but I don't thing Sam will react in the same way Ince did.

Apparently he also has a calf strain - doubtful for tomorrow

He was always going to go in January, that became apparent after it become obvious how crap Ince was.

Fortunately we now have Sam to spend the money and not Ince.

Let's just hope that there's no Bentley-esque sell-on fee with Bayern to explain the low transfer fee!

Well at least he's honest  .

Glad the clause is reported as 18m and that it would be Sam doing the spending.

Agreed on both counts but haven't Rovers tried to deny that any release clause exists?

If there is one then Hughes will know what it is. This being the case, wouldn't it be better to let the competition (e.g. Villa) know too by admitting it? Could start of a bit of a bidding war at least in terms of how payment is made - e.g. cash rather than installments.

£18 million plus £10 potentially from the board that is nearly £30 million, with Big Sam that could be potentially 6 top class players, I would suggest two of each, defenders, midfielders and strikers, a mouthwatering proposition...

Very disappointing that RSC (or his people) have allowed this to come out tonight of all nights.

Allardyce is going all out to boost morale before the game tomorrow - the players are in a hotel in Preston tonight and will travel straight from there to Ewood for the match - but when they all retire to their rooms and flick on Sky Sports News, the most high profile individual in the squad has got himself in the headlines. Great timing :angry2: .

There's a real feel good factor around - a real buzz - and nothing should have been allowed to puncture that.

To be fair, the two studio commentators did say afterwards that Rocky was put under pressure there. They said it was more like a job interview for Man City by the interviewer.

I think nicko has been right on this one all along re the clause- £18m bid, £2.5m payable to Roque- don't know whether that additional which is where the £20m is coming from.

Big numbers for a guy who has scored 4 in half a season.

Villa walked away according to nicko- so here's hoping WBA and ourselves beat City so Sparky is not around at City in January because I don't think anyone else would pay that amount.

Roque has been carrying a back injury for a while and Ince has been refusing to give him a chance to get properly fit- sounds like RSC has put his foot down on this but how real the calf problem is...

Very disappointing that Roque has hit the airwaves like this on Sam's first day. I guess he will react and handle it a whole lot better than Paul white flag Ince did with Bentley.

As Bill Shankly once said about another player- " He's got a heart as big as a carraway seed". Get rid if he's a rubber dinghy man.

Aren't they all? Why would anyone get a player's name put on their shirt these days.

If the bid is there, it's a no-brainer; he's got the least goals from the most playing time of our 4 main strikers, who all have had the burden of poor service.
