FourLaneBlue Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Losing their first game, at home, to Doncaster. It's gonna be a long, hard season for the Nob Enders. Still, at least they have that pre-season friendly victory over us to be happy about.

philipl Posted August 7, 2010 Author Posted August 7, 2010 Very struck by the size of the difference between the Championship and League 1 from what I have seen thus far. Bristol City apparently have seven out injured which probably helped Millwall a bit. Championship attendances look to be well down judging by today's figures. Leagues 1 and 2 seem to be holding up but poor old Accy were only half the attendance of the next lowest at 1,600 despite no local competition from the big boys.
Backroom DE. Posted August 7, 2010 Backroom Posted August 7, 2010 Great result for Ipswich, live amongst Town fans and they're absolutely delighted with beating Boro 3-1 away. Looks like they played well. Big Jon Stead with a goal, too
they_think_its_all_rover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 This interview with Ken Bates could have gone under a number of threads but I will stick it here for his predictions on the Championship!!!y Bates is a grade A [asteriks'] I particulary liked the quote 'Most of the clubs who are in the s*** are, or were recently, under foreign ownership. Look at them: Hull City, Derby County, West Ham, Notts County, Portsmouth and Cardiff City. Previous owner: a man from Huddersfield, current owner: a man from Essex - very foreign Ken!
longsiders1882 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 17,500 at burnley with 2500-3000 Forest? so thats 7k down on last season They've been telling me all week they'd be near a sell out today. Here we go again. Wold you like to tell me which games last season our just under 22,000 capacity ground got 24,500 on? As for Forest Numbers - not 100% but I think the limit is still 2500 as the other half of te cricket field that Burnley fans had last season has not been openend. I'd suggest 15000 burnley which is probably 2000 down on last season. Not as bad as I feared to be honest - though not a great performance either

Mattyblue Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Coppell does it again! David James for player manager?!
philipl Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 With the lack of movement between PL clubs today, there are probably going to be some mind boggling loan moves to the Championship after the PL's squads get announced on the 1st.
Backroom Tom Posted September 11, 2010 Backroom Posted September 11, 2010 Why would Hull let Olifenjana play for Cardiff against them when he is their player? He scored against them today.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Cos Hull played a player who was onloan from Cardiff. The managers struck a deal before the game but I am sure Pearson is wishing otherwise now.
Backroom Tom Posted September 11, 2010 Backroom Posted September 11, 2010 Ah ok, still seems stupid to me though.
cn174 Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Undecided about who I want to win this one. Zurab just given away a pen. One thing I am decided upon is that Phil Dowd is a complete pillock! Loves himself more than Uriah Rennie! 2-0 now! Looking like Swansea atm
American Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Wanted the closer away match of Reading, but not looking good. 2-0 Swansea already.
SouthAussieRover Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Good to see Swansea doing so well. I remember their spectacular fall from the top of DIv 1,to DIv 4 Amazing to think they are on the verge of returning to the top league.
Backroom DE. Posted May 30, 2011 Backroom Posted May 30, 2011 Zurab's been awful for Reading, shouldn't even be on the pitch. At fault for one goal, arguably two.
BuckyRover Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I like Swansea. They've looked good everytime I've seen them
EnglishChris Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 They'll go straight back down next season just below Rovers lmao.
LeChuck Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Funny how a lot of people were creaming themselves when Paolo Sousa did a decent job there. Now Brendan Rodgers has done even better but doesn't get a mention anywhere. Sam Allardici was on to something you know. It'll be interesting to see how Swansea get on next year, Sinclair will be a big hit I reckon.
roversmum Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 It's going to start the Scottish question all over again, Rangers and Celtic are not going to be happy ... What a nightmare poor Zurab has had. Yikes! Reading got a goal back!!!
Guest roverite1991 Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I know it's an old (and possibly redundant) but there's something fundamentally wrong about welsh teams in the English leagues, never mind in the Premier League! How is it acceptable and yet people recoil in horror at the mention of Celtic and Rangers doing the same? 3-1 btw. Come on Reading!!! English league, English teams!! Mwahahahaha!!!
American Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 3-2 and I'm regretting having put a budget on buying tickets, so not going when all the cheap seats were snapped up.
cn174 Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Game on now!! Only just realised Reading have got 10 men too, I turned over at half time
