imy9 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 John do you honestly believe that for a second? He made the choice to sell Arteta, Yakubu and Beckford and sign two loan players...or was it the banks who demanded money and all 15 plus million had been taken from them.

John Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Moyes made the final decision, I am pretty sure of that - he has always said he is in complete control of football matters at Everton. Just because he has control does not mean he is happy with the circumstances. Obviously, you think he has been lying about having control at the club for years then? Strange.... David Moyes: I decide who comes and goes at Everton – not the bank

David Moyes: I decide who comes and goes at Everton – not the bank I would suggest John that he may have had control previously but has a lot less at the moment because of the banks wanting their pound of flesh, or you may be right but in that case he has made a monumental error wouldn't you say by selling two strikers leaving you short up front and selling your most creative player and not buying?
Backroom Tom Posted September 10, 2011 Backroom Posted September 10, 2011 Apparently Asamoah Gyan has been loaned out to some club in the UAE, astonishing if true what the hell are Sunderland playing at?
Kamy100 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Gyan forced Sunderland to let him go, what a idiot, waste of talent.
Backroom DE. Posted September 10, 2011 Backroom Posted September 10, 2011 Seems the rumours on deadline day that Gyan had asked for a transfer had some merit after all.
bennyboyt11 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Really stupid mistake by Vorm in the Swansea goal... Watch out for it on MOTD later
Backroom Tom Posted September 10, 2011 Backroom Posted September 10, 2011 Aguero hattrick, the guy is class.
chris Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Aguero hattrick, the guy is class. Knowing that we beat Man C, Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid to Dann's signature has to make you feel good when you see what he turned down lol
Commondore Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Does anyone think Andy Carrol was worth those £35 million yet? I may come to regret saying this, but I feel confident that in three years time his transfer will be seen as a massive failure.
Mattyblue Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Just watching United, these top sides are now ridiculously good, any semblance of competition has long gone for most of us.
John Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 We need to get Balaji on the case pronto.... Tony Fernandes hopes 'environment, love, care and attention' will lure David Beckham to QPR "They [beckham's advisors] want to talk because our vision is a long-term one, with lots of things David can do in Asia with me. It's something we have to work at
Exiled_Rover Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Man City are just frighteningly good. I could build a title challenging team with the money they've spent. There's no skill to it at all.
Backroom Tom Posted September 10, 2011 Backroom Posted September 10, 2011 United and City are ridiculous. Another Rooney hattrick.
Backroom DE. Posted September 10, 2011 Backroom Posted September 10, 2011 I can in all honesty see United and City winning 36 games a-piece and drawing 2 against each other. Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal don't even come close to them, and the rest of us will do well just to avoid getting a hiding.

Backroom DE. Posted September 10, 2011 Backroom Posted September 10, 2011 BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD The sad thing is... this has been the case for some time in one form or another, but this season feels different. In all the past seasons I, at the very least, had pride that Rovers as a family-friendly club with good values (in the football world, at least) were able to stay in the league and give the big boys a game. We were essentially on a negative transfer budget and still refused to allow the powerful clubs to roll us over. I actually felt genuine pride towards Rovers, no matter what state the league or English football in general is in. I don't feel that pride for the club now... the owners and managers are bumbling, lying idiots, we're associated with the lowest of the low in Jerome Anderson and his merry band of agents, and even the longer-serving squad members such as Roberts, Dunn and Pedersen are beginning to seriously wind me up. It's been a long time since I've felt this low about Rovers, and football in general. It's just not fun, and even if we win tomorrow, it still won't be much fun.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Jesus, why dont they just give Utd the title now....frightening stuff. The rest of us are mere cannon fodder.

IIRC the pundits were saying the same about Chelsea after a few games last season

It's been a long time since I've felt this low about Rovers, and football in general. It's just not fun, and even if we win tomorrow, it still won't be much fun. Football at the top level is simply dying a death - it's much more about money and the big clubs increasing their wealth than competitive sport these days and it's being ruined for fans (well, proper fans - not your United armchair tosser who will think it's fantastic because Sky says so). Until something is done to level the playing field, it's just going to get worse and worse. La Liga is now pretty much decided on 2 games - the Clasicos. Whoever comes out on top in those wins the League. The Prem has been a procession pretty much since we won it - United and either Chelsea or Arsenal, and this season it's likely to yet another 2 horse race with United and City. The best league in Europe? For me 'best' means most competitive - on that basis the Bundesliga is top of the pile. Clubs owned by fans, fairer distribution of money and proper ticket prices. OK Bayern are usually there or thereabouts but the top places are far more widely contested than here. This is where the PL is headed .... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/sep/07/la-liga-barcelona-real-madrid .... and sounds dismal for fans of those making up the numbers.
roverandout Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 people critisise the premiership for only having 2 or 3 teams capable of winning the league but its exactly the same in spain, barca and real madrid dominate la liga and with 5,6 or sometimes 7 goal wins. Every top league has only a handful capable of winning it, doesnt make the league any less competitive overall.
Mattyblue Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Of course it does! Three quarters of the league kick off knowing they have zero chance of winning the competition they are in.
roverandout Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 what about teams competing for a europe league place, spurs, liverpool, stoke, everton etc, every team knows they are in a mini-league within the premiership before the season has begun and once in a while a surpise can happen like a birmingham/rovers winning the league cup.
grizfoot Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 The gulf in class is embarrassing at times. Thought Bolton where poor to be honest, but even if they had played up to their best I don't think they would have got anything. It is a case of the best teams getting stronger but also the lesser teams getting worse as well. If you look at a lot the clubs in the league, not many have improved over the summer if anything the majority have gone backwards or stood still.
