Backroom Tom Posted August 1, 2011 Backroom Posted August 1, 2011 He's not going to end up here is he? Not overly bothered about him as a player but our inability to close any deal is a concern
Kamy100 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 The fact Rangers keep bidding (they have had 5 bids rejected) then surely they are getting some sort of encouragement from the player or his agent. If he had set his heart on moving to Premier League then Rangers wouldn't continue to bid.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 If he wants to go to Rangers then I fail to see what Kean or anyone else could do to prevent him from going. I dont particularly care, im sure he's a useful player but I doubt he'd offer us significantly more than we already have. The more serious issue is that here is yet another target we appear to have missed out on. We cannot afford to be missing out on targets with only 2 weeks to go before the season starts.
Billy Castell Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 If he goes to Ibrox, then in many ways it shows a lack of ambition. Sure, they win the SPL many times, but the standards there are so low Danny Cadamateri was top scorer a few seasons ago! As for European football, most Scottish teams struggle to reach the group stages of both cups. If he goes to Rangers, then let him go and move on. There will be players just as good as him.
Kamy100 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 He's not going to end up here is he? Not overly bothered about him as a player but our inability to close any deal is a concern I think that if he does join Rangers then it is more to do with the players personal ambitions rather than Rovers ability to close the deal,
davulsukur Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 He's not going to end up here is he? Not overly bothered about him as a player but our inability to close any deal is a concern Its a good point. Even though we have the serb awaiting a work permit, still no deal (apart from Myles) has been offically sealed.
Backroom Tom Posted August 1, 2011 Backroom Posted August 1, 2011 If he does prefer to go to Rangers it says a lot about him. Rather play in an easy league for one of the best teams than challenge himself in a far superior league. Surely he must want more than that

He could be here instead of being in Pune, show how much he wants the lad, thats if he does, we should have Kean and the players back here at this stage in the season, I cant understand this at all!!

Mattyblue Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Like he has any input into transfers. 'Head Coach' to a tee is our Keano
Hughesy Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 SPL or Premier league? Soon know how big the lads ambitions are
rebelmswar Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 So who is in charge at Ewood right now, while the players are going for joyrides and Kean is.... doing whatever he does when he is there? Honest question. If someone could make ne feel there is any hands on the pump at Ewood right now with an inch of pull I will put all this crap firmly on Goodwille.
roversfan99 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 CryerRovers Andrew Cryer I don't believe there is any problem with Goodwillie. Thes things take time but I still expect it to be done
Waggy76 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I cannot help thinking , we would be better off with Craig Bellamy ..Not sure the manager , could cope with him though ...
jim mk2 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Phil Jones found it impossible to resist when ManU came calling and the same is true probably of Rangers and Celtic in Scotland. Shows the current desperation of Rovers fans when they will be disappointed not to sign a £2m striker who was also being targeted only by Rangers and Blackpool.
roversfanben Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 "David Goodwillie travelling back up to Scotland, no deal done with Blackburn at present time" from James24 on twitter. I have been told the medical will take place tomorrow, but who knows?

The striker is understood to have attracted interest from up to 10 clubs

I believe that the players we are trying to bring into the club have all been chosen by Kean. Since the move away from Kentaro, negotiations for players have been conducted by 2 members

I believe that the players we are trying to bring into the club have all been chosen by Kean. Since the move away from Kentaro, negotiations for players have been conducted by 2 people at Ewood (can't name them) who I am told are dealing direct with Ali Merchant/Owners. Also in essence now Paul Hunt is doing the duties of a chief executive. Big shift from what was happening. Rovers still hopeful of getting deal done.

This matches up with the info I was given. And if you check back through this thread, the info given to me has been 100% right thus far. I was told to expect him to be a Rovers player by the end of tomorrow.
