Paul Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I know this probably makes me certifiable but we had planned a trip to Anfield. The family, all of us if possible, usually go to watch Rovers on Boxing Day. Just discovered it's £44 EACH!!!!!! I don't remember it being that much last time, which was only last season or the one before? Five adults at £44!!! Gobsmacking. Needless to say we aren't going at that price, crap team or not.

No Nay Never Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Was £43 last year. So thats £88 combined for our festive away games this season.
Mattyblue Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Before the first set of Yanks took over, it was 20 odd pound at Liverpool, same at Old Trafford. Supply and demand, I suppose.
SouthAussieRover Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Might be some time before we get to play at Anfield again
Mike Graham Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Boycott, why pay £44 to watch utter sh!te and Coco strut his stuff on the touchline. What an utter waste of £44 plus the other additional spends.
MarkBRFC Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Can't believe your suprised, Liverpool & Man Utd have been north of £40 for a good few seasons now. I haven't been to either since the 07-08 season, and won't be again unless its a hell of a special game.
AggyBlue Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I haven't been to either since the 07-08 season, and won't be again unless its a hell of a special game. Snap.
Hughesy Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Boxing day night in Liverpool & the match. Then New years eve at game and the round manchester is the plan. Ticket prices putting me off, decisions, decisions!!
SAS Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Can't believe your suprised, Liverpool & Man Utd have been north of £40 for a good few seasons now. I haven't been to either since the 07-08 season, and won't be again unless its a hell of a special game. What he said. I went a few seasons ago, didn't buy a ticket and just watched it on tv in a city centre bar...
Exiled_Rover Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 It's only a matter of time before the game implodes. Asking the average man to pay £40 per game is ridiculous.
AndyNeil Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Really? I think it was a 'tounge in cheek' comment
Gav Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I think it was a 'tounge in cheek' comment It wasn't at all, lad here says its sold out, can't see it myself.
A cup of beans Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Can't believe your suprised, Liverpool & Man Utd have been north of £40 for a good few seasons now. correct. we never take decent followings.. and im not surprised (at those prices). never missed a game at anfield or OT since we've been in the prem.. but due to despondency and hoplessness.. and haplesness... i'll be missing both of these games - i'll be watching both games at home.. in comfort - on sky calcio!
ABBEY Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Was planning going but the robbing scouse gets can do one!
thenodrog Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Before the first set of Yanks took over, it was 20 odd pound at Liverpool, same at Old Trafford. Supply and demand, I suppose. More like level of debt.
thenodrog Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Might be some time before we get to play at Anfield again Flying over then are you Don?
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 12, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted December 12, 2011 I went a couple of years ago when we lost 2-1 and Keith Andrews scored a penalty. Was £39 then... It's always been £42 at Manure, and isn't Chelsea £50+? Even so, it's so wrong!
Hughesy Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Ok we decided the scousers can stick it! Next onto new years, we were on about going but someone has suggested bars in Manc are charging around £7 each to get in, that likely?!
Waggy76 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Well I am going , my mate is a Liverpool fan and he is taking me ..This will be my last visit to Anfield unless we draw them in a cup tie sometime in the future . I am resigned to the fact relegation is a certainty but Anfield is a special place . I want to see Kenny Dalglish in the dugout again, without doubt the greatest manager Blackburn Rovers have ever had . King Kennys blues ahead of the rest simply the best !!! However much the gutter press may wish it , no one can take away May 14th 1995 . So I am going to cheer Kenny and vent my spleen at the imposter in the opposing dugout ..... Kean out ! Venkys out !
SouthAussieRover Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Flying over then are you Don? No I'll be playing golf.
