riggers77 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 How anyone can go knowing that 1 penny of their own money is going to Steve kean is beyond me.

Proudtobeblue&white Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I got the corporate email today, claims only 3 boxes left, prices are down, not interested, asked if I wanted to renew my player sponsorship last week, sent a short but to the point response as to how I wouldn't whilst SK still there and that I wouldn't be renewing ST after 35 years - very sorry, regret, but I would be back after his departure. Poor staff, feel sorry, got a stock answer thanking me for my email, that was it. Seemed that answer has been repeated. I think they are resigned to poor repeat bookings - not even a call to attempt to change my mind - heart breaking.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Keep reading this, why what's changed? Instead of just Kean talking tripe, we have three of them. So far I have been fairly impressed by Shebby - as have most people that have met him (including Glen M). He is at least talking to the fans - and as has previously been expressed, seems to bring more control in this country rather than relying on fragmented communications with India. They have to deliver - but to be honest they promised signings - and barring Silva they have delivered. We, at last, have some details on ST and corporate. Is it late - of course it is - are they learning lessons - only time will tell.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 But that is what he is being paid (no doubt handsomely) to do DMTP...talk the talk to disenchanted fans, wax lyrical and try to win people over with the big talk....only time will tell if he is yet ANOTHER one full of hot Indian air!

Where is he in the pecking order... above Agnew and Kean or about the same level as the tea lady? If I knew that I might take more (or even less) notice of him.

Only time will tell - but to instantly dismiss him is IMO wrong. I'll give him a chance. I'll admit, like many, I gave Venkys a chance and that didn't work out too well. But I will give him a chance until I have reason to think otherwise - at the moment he is fighting against the general feeling against Kean and the Venkys. To be honest if he reads this MB - the one thing he could do to gain the trust of the fans and assert his authority is get rid of Kean.
Mattyblue Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Give him a chance, give Kean a chance, give Venky's a chance. What does it even mean? We as fans don't make the decisions, so I don't need to give anyone a 'chance'. They need to prove themselves before I blindly support them, just because he's new and partaking in nice chats with Glen Mullan doesn't change my view.

Now I am confused Matty - we don't make decisions - and yet they need to prove themselves - why ? If we can't influence their decisions - then the protests etc are presumably destined to fail ? BTW - my giving a chance is not coming on here calling him before he has had chance to prove himself. I admit it will make little difference - but at least I will be true to the beliefs I hold in life.
desperaterovers Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Rumours of 6k tickets sold so far, anyone confirm? thats about right

Now I'm confused, this is good for Rovers, how?
glen9mullan Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Another departure from the commercial team today also :-(
den Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Talks cheap. Could you tell us what authority he carries? May I? None whatsoever. The people who make the decisions are in Pune [or in some other dark place. Shebby certainly isn't one who can make decisions]. Shebby is here to talk to the fans. Note: talk "to" the fans.

This is the same guy who a couple of weeks ago called for Kean's head, and now he's waxing lyrical...definitely a straight shooter, just more BS from another little piggy with his snout in the trough.

Please show me the bit where he waxes lyrically about Kean - the interview I saw he was very guarded in his comments. So you will give him a chance yet believe he will fail? Now I'm confused, this is good for Rovers, how? Sorry - confusion obviously reigns - where did I say I believed Shebby would fail ?
den Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Even though we have been through hell with this lot in charge,Is it realistic to expect to see crowds of below 12,000 at Ewood next year.... Very realistic SG. Walk ons for the last few seasons have been around 2000 per game - and that's in the PL. Is there any reason to believe that will be bettered in the Championship where there is no attraction of the top teams in the country and where the manager is undeniably keeping fans away? Indeed, some games will likely draw fewer walk ons, so take this into consideration, while adding the number of season ticket holders. Away support will probably swing from huge to maybe a couple of hundred.

You are being conned.
Steve Moss Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Keep reading this, why what's changed? Instead of just Kean talking tripe, we have three of them. Bingo. Until Kean leaves the club it cannot be seriously argued that the club is moving in a positive direction. Anything short of that is mere window dressing.
The_Expert Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Anyone care to predict what size the crowd will be for the first 3 home games of next season? Hull, Leicester and Barnsley...
Gav Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Anyone care to predict what size the crowd will be for the first 3 home games of next season? Hull, Leicester and Barnsley... If season ticket sales are anything to go by I'd imagine 12/13k tops. With a new manager in place you could have added another 3-4k to that figure I'd have imagined.
ABBEY Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I'm wondering what sort of iron fist the "new" safety dude will be installing ? Can see it being all out war against protesters.
Gav Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I'm wondering what sort of iron fist the "new" safety dude will be installing ? Can see it being all out war against protesters. I think you're right, they don't care about alienating supporters so if you protest you’re on the hit list i'd wager. I was speaking to someone yesterday who works at the club, and he was telling me that Agnew, Kean and the rest of the new regime really have no idea about the level of resentment the fans feel towards the club, they really believe they’re doing a good job and its only a small minority that are disgruntled. Unbelievable!

Unbelievable! Unless he really is thick as pigswill Kean can't have been in any doubt of the fans feelings against him at the Wigan match. Everywere you looked there was bile pouring at him and by the state of his expressions he knew damn well. He's just playing the fool to carry on his ridiculous charade.
BRFC95 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 He's just playing the fool to carry on his ridiculous charade. He'll cling to his position as long as he can, by hook or by crook
PAFELL Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Rumours of 6k tickets sold so far, anyone confirm? If that is true, that is shocking. As a comparison, Brighton have had 17,000 renew ST. They had 3000 on the waiting list. During the close season they have been increasing the capacity by 8000 and already expect to sell over half that. It shows the contrast with a badly run club and a club that is run correctly. With respect, I cannot believe that. After all he employed a body guard. Slight possibility with the new regime, but not Kean or Agnew. Often the latter stepped at press conferences etc.
