Now that I think about it, I think it's Turkey where they sometimes have clubs that do both basketball and football for some reason. Quote

Yep a lot of those clubs have multiple sporting disciplines, as do Barcelona. 1 Quote

Seems like a very difficult game given their signings and start to their season - and Rovers relative weakness. Last season we added a few new faces (albeit, they turned out to have very disappointing seasons and Mafoumbi was cut eventually). This season, no new additions, save for possible U18 graduates. I suppose Rovers are fortunate that they're in this PL2 Super League, with no relegation or promotion. Edit: That said, there's some promise in the Rovers squad - the major weakness lies in the depth and in the forward areas, with too much expected too soon of Tyjon. JPTSwindon Posted yesterday at 10:17 Posted yesterday at 10:17 Michalski - any chance he could play? He needs game time one way or another. Quote

I don't think he will given we have a senior game tomorrow. The under 21 game against Everton on Monday would have been ideal for him to play in but Goddard was picked instead. I think Barrett will play tonight as Goddard has been the third choice in first team games so far. It will be interesting to see what happens when/if Pears is available. 1 Quote

riverholmes Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Match report from Brighton's website - Rovers 0 BHA 4 https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/media-article/mu21-match-report-blackburn-rovers-bha-pl2-august-2025 Am puzzled a bit by the formation. Wood and Stritch, as far as I know, are forwards/attacking midfielders. So it looks like Dunn is the only real all-round central midfielder in the team. 1 Quote

arbitro Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago The first thing to say is that Brighton were excellent. They were quicker in movement and mind, stronger and certainly more skilful. Ordinarily that would tell the story of a 4-0 defeat but the truth is not one Rovers player (except Batty who was ok) comes out with any credit. We lacked cohesion, application and at times attitude. It was certainly the most inept I have seen our under 21's for a long time and baffling after a decent performance on Monday against Everton although there were some changes. We ended up with Wood as a central striker and Strich just behind him so the absolute dearth of strikers doesn't just apply to the first team. Hopefully the under 18 boys can smash the Dingles today and restore some pride to the Academy. 3 Quote
Parsonblue Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Totally agree arbitro. I thought there was a huge gulf between the two teams. As you say, Brighton were big, strong and quick but all seemed to have the ability to control the ball, pass the ball and looked to be well organised in terms of shape and movement. Sadly, I couldn't see one player in that team who I would be happy to put in the first team squad - and if we get any sort of injuries and suspensions we will be relying upon them to make up the numbers. Like the first team, there is no threat in front of goal. Two big home games for the Under-18's coming up - Burnley today and Fulham in the Cup on Tuesday. They will be interesting tests for our youngsters. 2 Quote
riverholmes Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Does Dunn look like a prospect? It seems he’s struggling to stand-out in a poor team. Quote
