VinjayV4 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 They're trying to buy their way out of the league and seem convinced FFP doesn't apply to them. Hope them and 'Boro fail and get slapped with an embargo tbh but I'm not holding my breath! This doesn't so much apply to Derby, but the fact 'Boro get average gates of 15k and pay Downing £60k a week, yet comply with FFP really gets my goat In a way I hope they don't. FUP and Platini are a cancer to football as far as I'm concerned. The more clubs that break the ridiculous rules the sooner it might be scrapped perhaps? Absolute antithesis of everything people like Jack Walker stood for.

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Selling Hanley would be a major mistake in my opinion. He's probably been our best player this season, certainly one of the few who seem to have bought into the Lambert revolution. Let's hope it's just a rumour.

The thing with it is, in principle, it's fine. (Living within your means etc). But the execution is just all wrong.

Our resolve might be tested in the summer, but I can't see us losing Hanley in this window. That would definitely be panic stations.
chaddyrovers Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Anyone listened to the audio from Lambert? Heard it live and would love to listen again if anyone had the link? here is Lambert's interview https://audioboom.com/boos/4126169-it-s-good-to-come-here-and-win-lambert-delighted-with-onerovers-facup-progression
West Yorks Rover Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Perhaps we should be wanting Boro to get promoted, won't we pick up a couple of extra million ?

He won't sell Hanley because he doesn't want to.. here is Lambert's interview https://audioboom.com/boos/4126169-it-s-good-to-come-here-and-win-lambert-delighted-with-onerovers-facup-progression Thanks Chaddy...brilliant interview by PL right?
Veevs Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Go for a lie down, it's obviously been a long day. I am not talking same level of quality (Prem, a then a record transfer, overall skill level etc), just the combination of player, ability (relative to league and price) and background for both players.. there are allot of similarities inc career, ages, size, strengths and goal scoring records (1 in 4 for both Shearer and Watt, a top scorer old head in a bad place for Newell and Graham both have very similar records, Shearer and Watt known for good individual goals, both never the main striker prior to rovers etc).
Speedie Dived Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 https://audioboom.com/boos/4126169-it-s-good-to-come-here-and-win-lambert-delighted-with-onerovers-facup-progression He won't sell Hanley because he doesn't want to.. Thanks Chaddy...brilliant interview by PL right? I don't think he fancied Rhodes after listening to that. Hit the nail on the head with the comment on goals are pointless is you are not in play offs. Highlights the need for a left back too.
pick32 Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Not a great interview the fact he said we are OK in the forward areas has got alarm bells ringing, need a striker of quality in before Monday to replace Rhodes.

Watt, Graham, Jackson, Brown. That's enough to get us through to the end of the season. We need a creative midfielder and a left back now. Summer is for the big signings.
watford-rover Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Just got in from the Oxford game, now I've defrosted i thought id put this up. Does anyone recognise this fella? possibly a new signing? he came and sat with us rovers fans in the first half. he came out of the players tunnel walked round the pitch and sat not far from me and sat listening to his headphones. he had a Louis Vuitton wash bag a huge watch and was wearing a team tracksuit. also covered in tattoos (tear on his right cheek, up his neck and his hands). at halftime he went back down the tunnel and wasn't seen again. looked maybe mid 20s and in decent shape. might possibly our new no.10?

I'll apologise in advance here, but he's saying exactly what I and a few others have been saying for what seems a long, long time. Football doesn't revolve around trying to supply one player with chances. It revolves around building a ........ T E A M. Good teams succeed where poor teams built around an individual, don't.
Lancaster Rover Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Is it not Dean Rittenberg from the U21's?

It's a good to hear honest and straightforward views with the minimum of spin.
watford-rover Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Is it not Dean Rittenberg from the U21's? Rittenberg hasn't got any tattoos on his neck and face, plus this one looks older. might just have to wait and see
